Great food at affordable prices. If you love Spanish food this is the place to go. I love the rice and beans with roasted chicken. Platanos are excellent as well.

I can’t complain about the Latin cuisine. The food is always fresh. I tried the rice and beans chicken peril pork chops beef stew and all the good fried food. I’m puerto rican soooo even if it’s made by Dominicans it’s still latin food! Service is quick. And yes there are many Dominican personalities but who cares. Still great food decent prices.

Authentic Puerto Rican cuisine in a casual atmosphere. Beef stew is a must try. Good value for the price. Cash only. Highly recommend a visit for lunch or dinner.

One of the good things I love about this place is they are open 24 hours, too bad they don’t accept credit or debit card.

I was craving some rotisserie chicken just now and this place had it on display in the window/to-go counter. It was fast and cheap. Paid 9.50 for a whole chicken and some beans was out of there in less than 5 mins. It was a little greasy, and I didn’t care for how it was packaged though. I will still probably be back in a future hangover situation.

It was a cold rainy day and I came in for the beef noodle soup. It was ok but nothing special. I also tried cassava with onions for my first time. Really disappointed they didn’t have any plantains left. I don’t think I would go back. I also found it weird they started blasting loud rap music.

A bad version of a Spanish dinner. Horrible service and attitude from the girls. If you’re ordering at the bar, prepare to not be helped for a while. Their food is greasy and not good. Walk another block and have some Mexican food.

I ordered halcapurria, relleña de papa, and pastelillos. I bought one of each. After I got to my second I felt nauseous and light headed. I immediately stopped eating. My friend who was with me and ordered the same also started feeling the same symptoms along with a growling stomach. We then messaged another friend who we knew ate from there and they said that anyone who eats from there gets ill. We were stunned. It’s crazy that they continue to sell food to people. Who knows what is going on behind their kitchen. Maybe they are reusing the frying oil, or selling spoiled food, or who knows. I hope no one eats here! This place needs to be shut down.

This place is literally right across from my house, so i frequent this place. The food is absolutely delicious. I always order a whole chicken with white rice and beans. It tastes phenomenal and I’m actually just about to go there in a few minutes hehe. The only key issue is the service. The have a lack of employees which makes ordering very challenging since you cannot signal them right away. Other than that, this place has amazing food.

I’m pretty sad about my recent experience. I used to come here once in a while with my family and I would order tons of food. It is just not the same at all. I couldn’t eat my empanadas because of the overwhelming tart seasoning and even the relleno de papa was a total let down. Maybe it was the time of day or something but I won’t be going back for a while. The woman behind the counter wasn’t much help either. When I asked what kind of empanadas, she said beef so I said great. They were both chicken. Didn’t get what I wanted and it wasn’t very good. :(

Salty is the word for this place. I even make better alcapurias than this place. Don’t even get me started on their rellenos de papa… Disgusting. The meat inside is like mushy Alpo dog food. I am Puerto Rican and I know what great spanish food should taste like. Spanish Harlem is where you need to go.

Went here yesterday with my wife, kids, sister in law and her kids. This is not a cuchifrito!!! This place in my honest opinion blows !!! The pernil is bland and what they call fritura is bogus. You want cuchifrito… Go to Spanish Harlem.

Let me start by saying that I’m from Puerto Rico. The food in this place can only be describe with one word… Disgusting! I was craving for some Puerto Rican fried food and we drove from east Long Island to try this place. Wow what a disappointment… My wife ordered 4 of each of that greasy food I was craving for so long… The alcapurias: were hard, soo salty and the meat was horribly bad. The Rellenos de papa: no idea what the outside was made of but I can guarantee you it was not egg and starch(yuck), the potato was way too salty so was the meat. Pastelillos de pollo: the chicken looked ok but as everything else in this place it was easy to salty. From my point of view this place knows very little about PR food. I know nothing is going to taste like the real deal but come on! To anyone reading this don’t waste your time and money with this place. I’m still looking for something to wash the bad taste out of my mouth.

The most disgusting fish I have ever tasted!!! This food was a real disgrace considering that I am from the Dominican Republic origin, so I know my food. My husband and I were so hungry that we ate the yellow rice(which was so salty), the beans were good not great and the undercooked side of maduros(sweet plantains)… And we still managed to pay for the rest of the food minus the fish* which tasted old and rubbery. When we went to pay for the food I told the cashier girl that I was willing to pay for the food we ate minus the fish, she didn’t argue with the fact, but this man who looked like the manager of the restaurant looked at me dead in the eyes and told me that«Anywhere else, I wouldn’t gotten away with not paying for an entire meal» … EXCUSEME??? get away with what? Not paying for a disgusting old piece of meat??” Unbelievable!!! I told him«Gotten away with what? Not eating an old piece of fish? I have never tasted anything soooo disgusting in my life!!».“ I have never felt soo disrespected in a restaurant especially for something that I didn’t even cook and was thrown back in my face like it was my fault the fish was old… Everyone’s food did look a little appetizing, but I can’t judge the taste in other’s people food. My husband’s half of chicken order was okay not great, the rice was salty and again the maduros were undercooked. WILLNEVEREATHEREAGAIN!!! I DONOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACEEVENTO A STARVINGDOG!

Delicious and cheap. I always go for the tongue, yellow rice and beans. To top everything off, I always get a large coco to go with it. So yum. Service sucks at times but nonetheless, the food is wallet friendly, delicious, and filling. Oh and don’t forget to get a maduro.

This is one of the coolest Cuchifrito joints in Sunset Park. The arr oz con pernil is v v good, good rotisserie chicken, love the platano maduro and I love the pink lemonade. The seviche was also excellent, came in a small bowl with peppers, red onions, cilantro and plenty of shrimp. I added a little hot sauce. I try not to bring any of my female acquaintances here because the servers are hot. I can only imagine how many relationships have been broken up or reconciled over wandering eyes. Because I am stuck on stupid when I come here. :) Sometimes I stand at the counter and forget what I am there for. The food is good and cheap.

I am pretty surprised that this place doesn’t even have a Unilocal entry. and it has been mentioned in an old Daily News article — , which the restaurant proudly uses as a laminated insert around parts. This is an ethnic Latino fast food joint, so while I am at times not please with how«dirty» some of the tables, are, with the fact on how much foot traffic is in this place. I cannot deny how cheap and tasty food is in this restaurant. My mom likes the«yuka» or «mongongo» soups in this place. and I love ordering what I have displayed in the photo. Probably because I don’t speak much Spanish, I am quite fumbling at how to pronounce names, the times I come here, so I am very glad at the few times that I have been here — my mom comes with me, and then orders it in Spanish. Otherwise this was a place where I had met up with some old Primary school classmates. The pork here is definitely good, chicken is good, rice and beans are good. Even the juices are pretty good. While, you don’t really need an interpreter, but having a friend who speaks Spanish makes it easier to call out your order. This place definitely reminds me of how fast and how loud eating places can get, it definitely reminds me of smaller scale joint that I ate in while I visited Panama several years ago. In summer times La Isle, extends their hours. There is a one male/female bathroom, so it can get kinda icky, but if you’re here for a quick bite, try it. and see what you think. It is wheelchair accessible, but it is going to be a very tight squeeze… Oh warning no AC… so it will get very very hot, especially in the summer time.
