I could write a book about this place… In fact I am. I spend so much time there and it’s for a good reason. You go there for the staff. The food is fine but it’s ALL about the peeps who work there. Hard to explain until you experience it. It’s like Heaven but with a full bar.

Okay Mexican place on 5th ave in Park Slope. Great for families, and the food is decent for the prices, but nothing spectacular. We got the brownie sundae at the end and it tasted more like a cake — very light and airy.

Sat at the bar, served by the delightful Luke, we had a great evening. I don’t know what more you can ask for than generous pours and great bar-peeps. So five stars. Didn’t try the food.

Atmosphere: Texas bad inspired décor, definitely not for vegans; the benches are animal hides. The place is fun and casual. Clean bathrooms too. Food: average quality but the extra star is for the price: quantity ratio. A combo plate and appetizer is enough for two to share. The cheese enchiladas are disgustingly cheesy, saucy, and delicious. The free table chips and salsa are good– beware, the salsa is hot. Get some guacamole(huge!) to have along with it and you’ll be satisfied.

Don’t understand how this place only has 3s. Food was delicious. Chili con queso is an awesome cheese dip. Texas chilli also very good. The fried pickles weren’t good. I’m not a fan when they’re not cut into pickle chips. The waiter was very good as well, made great suggestions. Held off on some of the order and checked back in to see if we were full with the stuff that already came out. We were. Nice relaxing atmosphere with a full bar. Huge dinner came out to only $ 58 for two hungry guys.

Lobo was decent. No complaints from anyone but also not a very memorable meal for a group of people that eats out a lot. The server/bartender was new he said. He was really friendly and attentive. The food was fine mostly because we were hungry. With all the other Mexican and Latin American restaurants around, I have no real desire to come back here.

I’ve ate here a few times with some friends since I live in the area and I won’t ever be coming back because I refuse to give my money to the RUDEOWNER. i was standing outside the establishment when he started yelling at some girl over napkins… let me say it again… NAPKINS! he was really nasty and not at all a friendly person. on his way back into the store he was cursing under his breath about littering. I get it but there’s a nicer way to talk to people especially when you’re in the customer service industry. never coming back!!!

Food is *ok*. Service is *ok*. Where they really drop the ball is at the bar. An overpriced pitcher of sangria that doesn’t taste like it has a drop of booze in it? Check. Bland margaritas with weak pours? Check. And do they even know what a Michelada is? Not what they’re serving.

I’ve been to Lobo a few times since I live near by. My last visit was indeed my last visit. It was a toss up as to whether the food or service was worse. Our waiter was just an unfriendly ass. The food is just thrown together with little to no live or attention to detail. It’s generally tough to find good Mexican food in nyc, but trust me when I say the taco truck on union and 5th is superior to lobo in every way.

I can’t say that I tried their food, but I recently wandered in here moments before they closed after a long walk down 5th Ave. Instead of giving us the boot, they gave a couple thirsty tourists a big glass of water and use of the restroom. For that random act of kindness — you get 5 stars my friends! Next time I’m in Brooklyn I’ll stop in at a more reasonable hour.

I like Lobo. This location and the one on Court street are pretty much alike except that 5th avenue location accepts credit cards while the court street location only does cash. Brunch is pretty good, I’ve had their huevos rancheros which were pretty good and also the migas. The Margaritas is what I love about the this place. Blood orange is my favorite!

This spot is perfect for sitting at the bar on a lazy Sunday afternoon. It’s the kind of spot where you can casually watch a game on one of the two large TVs, where a slightly absent-minded bartender is not an annoyance, where the chips and salsa are good(there are gratis so ease up on the criticism) and the food is filling. Their Bloody Mary recipe is good– spicy and robust. The food is also pretty spicy but not overly so. Don’t expect white glove style serve here– it’s a country-western themed restaurant in Park Slope. If you go in with the proper mindset you’ll have a good time. Plaid shirt festooned with rhinestones optional.

Please get a cinnamon margarita and tell them not too sweet– the cinnamon tequila is AMAZING! While you’re at it– you should get my favorite dish(I made it up)… Chimichanga made like an enchilada(i.e. sauce and cheese on top.) it’s so good. The other food is solid and you really won’t be disappointed — unless you order the fried chicken– not good– the breading is an afterthought that falls off the chicken and gets soggy. I like the bar best(especially since table service can be hit or miss.) Good chips and salsa too

I’ve been to this branch of Lobo numerous times, and every time, I’m happy I came. All the servers are very friendly, great service. The chips and salsa, which are complimentary, are always served warm and the salsa has a nice spicy kick to them. I’ve always ordered the shrimp taco platter and its consistently good. Their margaritas are also tasty, but sometimes they’re hard on the wallet. I’ll be back Lobo.

My cousin is a local here and we were visiting while in town. We were seated at a great booth by the window and our waiter was friendly. I get a bit freaked out by cow hide and animal skulls decorating a place as a vegetarian, but I got over it once our food arrived. The salsa is really good and has a nice kick. They were generous with the refills. Being preggers I didn’t get to try the margaritas, but my husband and cousin seemed to really enjoy them, plus it was happy hour! For the entrée, I split the Vegetarian Mix with my husband. This included a portabello burrito(we swapped the portabellos for more veggies), a cheese enchilada, bean and cheese chalupa, and rice and beans. This was more than enough food for the two of us! I devoured the chalupa with some added some salsa and hot sauce. The enchilada was buried in the bean and cheese platter, but it was also found and gobbled up. The platters are hot btw, so be careful when your plate arrives!

Food is AMAZING. We went for lunch on a Friday and found they offer brunch from 11 – 3(weekdays!) which was different than a lot of places. $ 14 for The Alamo — a beef enchilada, a chicken enchilada(each with a different kind of sauce) rice, beans, and a flat open bean & cheese hard taco on the side. For $ 5 we got a small order of queso which wasn’t very thick(dripped off the chips) but it was very delicious. Good size bowl for $ 5. The one star off has nothing to do with the food. We were the first customers of the day and Devon(the bartender) was a little cold when we came in. She wasn’t necessarily rude, but when my fiancée told her that we had come since our friends had highly recommended the place she just looked us clearly uninterested. He tried to engage her a few other times and she just wasn’t having it. This is all fine, but about 25 minutes into our lunch, a person who seemed to be a manager or owner came in and all of a sudden she was super sweet Sally to other customers who were now coming in to eat. He didn’t care but I thought it was off putting. Also — the Lana Del Rey music HASTOGO. Restaurant with a tex mex theme and ESPN on the TV’s and I want to weep into my napkin because the music was so depressing.

Came here with about 12 friends for our annual brunch after running the Brooklyn Half Marathon. They were very accommodating and put up with our loud and boisterous group. Service was solid, and they even let us charge multiple phones that had died. Drinks and food really hit the spot, and the complementary chips/salsa were some of the best I’ve ever had. Migas was the consensus favorite, loaded with whatever cheese and veggies you’d like. Breakfast Tacos, the Tulsa and Breakfast Quesadilla also get stellar marks. Margaritas were solid too, especially the one with blood orange.
Lobo is a decent space and has a nice location right on 5th ave. Great neighborhood spot!

It was a beautiful Friday night, we were looking for a place to eat, the menu seemed good, so we all decided to go in(group of four) they sat us at the first table. It was a pretty tight space, but who’s complaining, it was a beautiful Friday night! The menu has tons of options, it has just about every Mexican dish, and also BBQ food, friend chicken, and soul food. Which made it confusing to order, but after asking the waitress, she suggested get the Mexican food. It took a really long time to get nachos and salsa, it took even longer to get sodas, it took forever to get the order for appetizers! We actually took a cigarette break because I felt like I had to stretch my legs :-/my friend ordered a margarita and didn’t like it, she took one sip & stopped drinking. I must say that the chili with cheese was the only thing that was good! Sorry I didn’t take a pic by the time the appetizers came we were to hungry to snap a Unilocal picture. We all ordered tacos, some soft shell some soft, basically everyone ordered different kinds. I had the two steak fajita tacos and one chicken. My husband had the same. They actually put steak in my taco, maybe 2 – 3 small pieces, but my husbands soft taco literally had ONE little piece of steak in it, the rest was onions and peppers. When he asked the waitress for more steak that basically never happened because she never returned. Thankfully I wasn’t that hungry and gave him some of my steak. They also charge for sour cream??? Doesn’t that suppose to come with a taco? Thought that was petty… Basically no one was satisfied. At the end we were rushed out, which was A-OK with me! Especially since the ONLY thing enjoyable was that damn chili with cheese. Oh and when we finished paying, the waitress asked if my husband wanted his pieces of steak… um really? Lol

Last minute decision to come here for dinner. We sat at the bar and got greeted by the eccentric friendly bartender. The décor is straight forward cowboy theme. it has an old wooden bar, cow hyde backing to the booths. As we settled ourselves at the bar we looked over the tex mex menu and ordered gauc and chips, loaded nachos and pork tacos. While we were waiting for the food we struck up a convo over great margaritas with the bartender. He was really nice and attentive. Food came all at once and everything was mediocre it was just super spicy with no real flavor and well guac looked liked it came from a mix, pork didnt look fresh. Bartender was a big stand out here i would def come back for drinks.
