Had the runs for 3 days, this place made me sick, not to mention how filthy it is. Never again, will go back there. I think they used they same oil for weeks. It was a disaster.

The Chinese food is pretty standard for a Chinese takeout place in terms of quality, taste and price. I recommend the curry chicken. Their Mexican food, however, I was not a fan of. I should not have tried the fish quesadilla. I wasn’t expecting fresh fish but something more than microwaved breaded frozen fish that tasted past its expiration date. The chicken quesadilla was fine, good flavor and the cheese was melted through but nothing a kid couldn’t throw together as an after school snack.

This place has the best bang for your buck Chinese food in the Gowanus/Park Slope area. The food is so much better than the take-out place on the corner of my block that I walk the extra 2 blocks there(I’m too cheap to call for delivery when it’s so close). Also, they have General Tso’s shrimp, which my gf LOVES!!! Beside the food and the speed. Hearing the cook switch from Chinese to the deepest cleanest American accent in an instant is awesome too. I’ve never tried the Tex-Mex portion of it but I usually stay away from that Mexican food made in a Chinese place… but that’s just me.

Americanized chinese. This means you have a slew of options from fried rice to lo mein to chicken wings. The flavor is not bad and the quality is decent but don’t be expecting to eat something authentic. That is not what Di Di is about. I enjoyed the Szechuan chicken here(which is really just like regular chicken with flakes of hot pepper in the thickened soy based sauce).

Great local spot. They make a mean hot and sour soup. Their prices have gone up over the last 6 months, so I usually don’t order a whole lot from there anymore. Also, don’t get their mexican. It’s not that good compared to Fresh Tortillas on 7th.

Updating: I originally wrote about this place because it was a) lazylocal b) had offerings from both mexican and chinese menus c) would let you combine items from either(e.g. sesame chicken burrito) with enough painstaking instruction(individually listed mexican fixins — just follow the patterns on the heading of each category on the mexican menu). For better or for worse, their inexpensive pricing combined with decent food has a decent number of people going there, enough that I feel bad ordering custom combined-menu items if they’re busy. On the other hand, I can’t tell if they’re busy over the phone… and maybe I was hoping that they’d add certain combinations to their menu by now??? Alright, well, at least it’s a beef and broccoli source that’s never let me down.
