This place is full of posters and even videos forcing veganism. The waiter took forever to serve us even though we were the only customers. The food tasted like frozen meals and was bad. They also give customers discounts for Unilocal reviews so thats probably why they have a good score.

Pros: Surprisingly good food, very inexpensive lunch options, really friendly staff, Their wall of celebrity vegans/vegetarians is once of my favorite restaurant modern art pieces in the neighborhood Cons: Oddly cult-like vibe, interior is very unique for Williamsburg(perhaps akin to an airport restaurant) I eat at Loving Hut quite frequently. Their food is done in the same guise as a lot of the other Chinese/Vegan places in the city, but their quality generally is really good. They deliver relatively quick. The interior/atmosphere is a bit of an experience. Loving Hut is an international chain of Vegan restaurants that is run by a «spiritual leader» who, among other beliefs, feel that veganism will help spread world peace. This philosophy is carried through to the visual elements on the interior of the restaurant.

Bad. Like, really bad. The food was obviously reheated and the middle of the fries were cold. Facon burger was so bad I couldn’t finish it. The lettuce on top was soggy and brown. The whole meal was like I’d bought a veggie burger, left it in the fridge for a week, and then reheated it in an old microwave.

my girlfriend got violently ill after we ate at this establishment. My assumption is that it came from the gnarly sweet potato mush pile that they delivered on a plate. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody.

Such a gem! Eat here in person, it’s usually pretty quiet but the delivery takes forever. Décor is cute and the staff is so friendly! Nothing on the menu that I haven’t liked so far, the Mac and Cheese and Peanut Butter Bomb Cake have to be my favorites!

I know it’s super cliché to say that a vegan version of a food item is better than its meat counterpart, but when I tell you their sesame chicken is ACTUALLY better, that’s not an exaggeration. Also super friendly atmosphere and great service at a reasonable price. Will be back :)

I haven’t found a vegan restaurant as good as this anywhere really. Fantastic food. Fantastic prices. Great staff. Huge selection and variation. Not just 6000 variations on Quinoa. I have tried a different thing each time I go there and it’s always exceptional. Great portion sizes too!

I love this place! The location is great, right outside the grand st L train and near a lot of other cool places and coffee shops. The service is always great, if you eat there. If you order, it never takes longer than the expected. It’s a good bet if you’re vegan or just great food altogether! Five stars!

I ordered take out and by the time it got to me, it was ice cold. My dumpling soup had two dumplings and iceberg lettuce. That’s it. My beet salad was a plastic container full of spring mix and a small beet chopped up, making the top layer of lettuce soggy. My grand total with deliver and a 20% tip was nearly $ 23. Will definitely not order from here ever again.

They have an unlimited amount of asian fusion dishes… the restaurant exudes a fresh energy… anyone will enjoy the food; vegan, vegetarian or carnivore. The hostess/waitress was super pleasant and accommodating which added to the delightfulness of the food. Will definitely come again!!!

I came here on an off hour for the lunch special. Got the tofu/veggie lunch special and a chai… the chai is amazing! The owner came out and gave everyone in the store free pizza that she was testing to add to the menu… it was very good and I would come back for sure!

Great that you’re Vegan, love the message & the effort Lots of options, clean, open fairly late, fast delivery. BUT, I’ve ordered here numerous times, dined in once or twice and the food is always ‘Meh’. I’ve tried the asian dishes, the burgers, the salads, the appetizers… everything is either bland or too salty. I would agree with another review in saying«Low Quality» That’s exactly what it is. Wish they had better cooks or cared more about the quality of the food.

I’d like to call attention to some of the negative reviews. I think they’re misleading. You’ve got one person who says they’re part of a cult because they have some new agey stuff playing on the TV. Sorry it’s not Master of None or whatever else you guys like watching, but way to overreach. Another says it’s a red flag because the kitchen is behind a closed door. Um, how many restaurants have an open kitchen? Maybe 1%? Lastly, you’ve got a guy who says he was shocked to see his bill, when all the prices are clearly marked in the menu. So maybe the shock should be your poor math skills? This is a small, family run business that serves really tasty and healthy vegan food in an area that is sorely lacking this kind of cuisine. We should all be happy about this, and if we have issues, we should be more helpful and constructive in expressing them. The only people who sh*t on other people are sh*tty people.

Food was good. We had planned on going to another vegan restaurant, but the wait was insane. We have been to other Loving Huts in other cities, but I think they are franchised. We were seated immediately and ordered. Food came out piecemeal, but was good and the woman working there was very nice. We got dumplings, wonton soup and 2 Loving hut burgers. I also did not care for the TV running in the background. If we were in the area, I would go back.

Me and my girlfriend we’re excited to come here but after we left it was big disappointment. I was going to leave two stars and maybe come back in the future but after seeing the price of bill I couldn’t. Rainbow wrap was mediocre scallion mango wrap was an extremely small portion and it was doughy. My girlfriend ordered the sesame seitan and I ordered Beijing seitan. Her sesame seitan was a ok size portion but it didn’t even taste like seitan no seitan texture just tasted like fried marinated dough. My plate was actually good put portion size couldn’t satisfy a baby. I’m not a skinny malnourished vegan and when I order seitan I expect to get what I pay especially if it 15 dollars. It was mostly spinach and mushrooms with a small piece of pumpkin. Not worth it, if you looking for good Asian vegan food for about the same price but double the size go to Wild Ginger

I was really hoping this was going to be great. It’s low quality vegan fastish food. Considering there isn’t anything else around it was acceptable but there are far better places. Also the cultish thing constantly running on tv is Hmm… Interesting… This is the Kmart of vegan food.

The food was great! I found out that Loving Hut is actually franchised so the menu in BKNY is much different from the one in Dallas. The service? There was none. The waiter didn’t come to our table until a good 10 minutes was up, I suppose she was busy standing behind a register that no one was near by. We were also the only table in the place– there was two other parties that left about 5 minutes after we arrived. Our server was quiet as a mouse, if not that quieter. I was beginning to think a cat caught her tongue. We gave compliments regarding the food and she just stared. Now back to the food, the C5 which is the«bacon cheese burger» was good. Sloppy, but good. The«beef and stir fry» was REALLY good. The vegan donut was even better. I bought two more to take home. Area is clean and colorful with wall messages. Only thing is, the bathroom is in the same area where you eat. I know the place is small, but I did not enjoy smelling the mixture of bathroom and yummy food. Just wasn’t nice. 3 stars because the server needed more confidence and vocal skills.

Used to go to this place when I lived in East Williamsburg. It’s vegan, which isn’t usually my thing but everything was delicious. It’s for the most part healthy, and their lunch specials are amazing!

I’m a vegan, so when I heard about this place, I thought I was striking a mother-lode, right? Wrong. When I walked in, the kitchen is behind a closed door — a red flag — the paint scheme is beige and green, with a lobby walled off from the main seating area. It’s like a church. Take note of that. I brought the Seitan Sesame and a Pina Colada, which in the end came with overcooked spinach, 1980s kraftsdale esque Eggo waffle ripoffs from the 99c store ‘Seitan’ coated in sweet HFCS syrup, and some kind of brown rice-quinoa mix. At first, it was good, but then the sweetness and the cheap syrup overtakes you, the rice doesn’t help; the piña colada was already weak and overtaken by the melting ice. The service was… casual; the two front girls nice, but they were jumpy and quick. I left a tip for the redhead, at the least, she seems to be new and resisting the indoctrination. But what really put the nail in the coffin is that, yes, this place is associated with and adheres to a cult; whose leader is a shrill like any other; taking money from her adherents for her own ends. Look it up if you don’t believe me: Suma Ching Hai of Vietnam and the Quan Yin Method, the, of course, one and true ‘way of the universe’, with her material everywhere in the lobby. *One of those*. Sigh.

Okay so I’m so conflicted. On one hand, the food is great. I’m by no means a veg but man this food is amazing. The nuggets and burger are my favorite, they are so good I forget about the lack of animal proteins. Delivery service is great and usually comes in an hours time. On the other hand… this is fully owned and operated by a cult of quasibuddhist vegans.

I am a voracious meat eater. Rabid, even. But I like this place, and that is saying a lot. My friend and I came in late on a Wednesday. There was no one else in the restaurant. The service was a little spotty, which happens sometimes when there is no one else there. The décor is a little strange, with vegan propaganda all over the walls. The tables and chairs sort of looks like something out of an Ikea showroom. The mushroom soup was good and the alfalfa spring rolls were fresh and delicious. They came with a peanut sauce that was so lovely I wanted to bathe in it. Is that weird? Yes, ok, moving on… I will be back. I didn’t even miss the meat. Shh, don’t tell anyone.

May have been one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. Ordered delivery with two friends and all of us did not like our food. The food came 10 minutes earlier than predicted, but the estimate as an hour for delivery so not saying much. When it arrived the food was cold. I ordered dumplings and a vegan burger. The dumplings were alright, but the burger was awful. It was hard as a rock and had no flavor, I couldn’t even finish it. It had a giant bun that was soggy and so gross, i tried to just eat the burger without the bun but the patty was really bad too. It came with fries, but it only had literally 5 fries. My friend had the pineapple fried rice had no flavor and she had to add a lot of salt and pepper. The pieces of protein were small and very few. My other friend orderd the fried seitan and said it tasted like breading, nothing else. Over all it was a bad experience and I will not be ordering again. Really disappointed, I was hoping for more from a vegan place near my apartment.

I wish I had read the reviews on delivery earlier. Advice: Order online for delivery. Better advice: don’t eat here. Last week, I called in for delivery and had to call again after an hour of waiting only to have the Loving Hut tell me that it would take ANOTHER20 minutes to deliver. The girl on the phone said they attend to online orders first, which she should’ve mentioned the first time I called. Who knows how much quicker this would’ve been. If you’re going to be an hour late, maybe update your customers or reheat their food, or maybe apologize. I can’t really talk about the food since I got congealed cold dishes. I ordered the pad thai and sesame seitan, and both were greasy, esp. for a «healthy vegan» restaurant. On a side note, bad Thai experiences in NYC so far. See review on Sage.

The first time my boyfriend and I got takeout from here it was a clusterfuck. The food arrived two hours later, and missing the yucca fries, an hour after that the tiniest order of fries ever was dropped off by a very angry delivery guy. The food won over, and this has become our main vegan spot! I have yet to get something I’ve disliked. Our favorites include the Happy Dumplings, steamed tiny bits of heaven! The soups are great too, wanton and dumplings are the best. The Loving Hut Burger is my favorite! I think it maybe the best veggie burger I’ve ever had. Always crispy never mushy or soggy. The Mac and Cheese is hit and miss at best. I love this place because of the variation, they basically cover whatever food your in the mood for. Hence us ordering multiple times a week… Worth it!

The Hazelnut Napoleon is not wafers and soy ice cream(Seamless says«ice cream»). It’s Philo like pastry with strawberry jam all over it. There are little spoonfuls of pudding sandwiched in there. Overall, I would not recommend. Everything else we got was good though. The sesame Seiten was great. The spinach mac and cheese was very good. The dumplings were dumplings. I don’t like dumplings… my friend wanted those.

Grabbed a donut from their fridge as the nice guy working the counter frantically bounced around the space. Easily the heaviest dessert I’ve had in years(and I eat a lot… like a lot a lot) and it was vegan(I went savory at their spot near Penn years back). Fortunately the $ 3 Levelup credit helped, though they didn’t seem to have a Unilocal checkin offer any more. Transaction Amount $ 3.27 Credit Applied — $ 3.00 Total Spent $ 0.27

Some months ago, the hubs and I were walking around WilliamsWick. He wanted to stop for a juice drink. As we were on the street contemplating heading into the place in front of us, a woman overheard us and sent us around the corner. She raved about this place. We didn’t catch the name but decided to take her on her word. We end up finding the place(it’s called Loving Hut incidentally) and sitting down. After glancing at the menu, a drink’s been upgraded to food. It was eons ago and I don’t remember what we had. We’ve been back, though, and we’ve never had anything bad. Last time, it was the green curry and orange tofu. Both were fantastic in different ways. Five stars because the food is flavorful. All too often when I head to vegetarian/vegan/organic places, they don’t season things. Yes, natural food should taste good but spices make things taste better. Even the best of greens only have so much flavor. Loving Hut seasons everything and it tastes delicious. Also, the staff is always super nice and less spacy than most vegan places.

Loving Hut is a national chain of family-owned vegan restaurants that put an Asian spin on vegan food. Things you’ll notice upon entering: — Buddha — Bamboo — Clean interior that looks like it was designed by Apple — Aroma of great, cruelty-free food wafting to your compassionate core I ordered the Loving Hut Sandwich with yam and sweet potato fries, with a side of broccoli-«cheddar» soup. The soup was great and served piping hot(could have used a side of bread, though but that’s the gluttonous American in me) and the sandwich was perfection. Thick, seasoned seitan(all hail seitan!), with cucumber, veggies with the fries was just perfect. My luncheon companion enjoyed her carrot cake, which I stole a bite of reminiscent of the«Lady and the Tramp» spaghetti scene* This neighborhood is becoming more and more vegan friendly, and along with it planting a seed(pun!) for health-conscience and environmentally-minded individuals to realize the drawbacks of industrial farming. Good on you, NYC. * See:

Loving Hut is awesome! The service was efficient and the waitress was super friendly and this place is so clean! I literally see no downsides, there’s a large dining area and the prices are great for the quality of food. They also have lunch specials which are a great bargain. I had the sweet and sour dish, which came with a spring roll and brown rice. So so filling. I was surprised at how quickly it filled me up. The thai iced tea is a bit small and watery so I’d avoid that, but overall everything was good.

We found this place by accident. We were actually was walking to some other place for lunch but one of us was too tired to walk further. At first when we saw the menu on the window, we thought the food wasn’t interesting enough for us to try but we were hungry & since one of us was too tired, we decided to go inside & give this place a shot. The staff were pretty friendly. The décor was comforting. White table, chair, & white painted wall with famous vegan poster on it. The place was small & clean. When we were there, the place wasn’t busy. We saw a lot of people bought a take out. We got the veggie burger & the pad thai. To be honest, we weren’t expecting the food was going to be really good. We were so wrong! We love the food here! They were absolutely delicious, especially the veggie burger! The veggie burger platter came with few pieces of yam & yucca fries. The pad thai were flavorful but not spicy. If you’re a fan of spicy pad thai, you might not like the pad thai here. Overall, we were satisfied. Friendly, attentive, polite, & quick service! Great food! Generous portion! Great value! All total, the veggie burger & the pad thai, we spent about $ 16. It was definitely worth it. If you live around the neighborhood or happen to be in the neighborhood, this place is definitely worth stopping by.
