I only go there because it’s close to work. The food is so-so. The staff are zombies in a production line of bread, bagels and cheese. The manager is this old bald dirt bag who fancies himself important, think Gargamel. Very rude to customers and is super annoying. So this joint is basically, you back in highschool on line at the cafeteria waiting for your grub.

I work in the area and have been here for both breakfast and lunch. The food is always tasty fresh and fast. Always enjoy their food.

Come here for breakfast most of the time. Good menu items at a very reasonable price. If you want to substitute something, they are willing to do it without a problem. I also love the personal pizza that they do here. Occasionally, if there’s a nice crowd at the bar, they will make the pizzas and put them out of free! Who doesn’t love free pizza?

The food is not bad, just the service. Do not come here if they have more than 10 customers in the restaurant, you will not get your meal. I came to this restaurant with two of my co workers for lunch and I never received my meal. I only order pasta. My other two co workers received their meals and I waited for 45 minutes and I am still waiting. Even the other waitress asked what did I order. I asked two times and no one had a clue about my meal. I kindly told the waiter just forget it my lunch hour is over. Instead of the manager coming over to apologize, he told me because I came in after my other two coworkers I had to wait. FYI– We all came in at the same time and I actually ordered first. Because of his attitude, the company’s social gathering and holiday will no longer be there. Been coming here faithfully, but not anymore.

If you gave 1 star, you’re an idiot OBSERVATION: More than once I have come here for lunch and seen some middle aged loser males occupying their tables with food brought in from OUTSIDE from 5 guys, Chipotle, & nearby food trucks etc… THESEPPLAREDISGUSTING&INCONSIDERATE. They seem to be co-workers/students that have no place to dine so they just stroll in and plop themselves on tables which are clearly for paying patrons only. REVIEW: I have been having lunch here for the past 7 years, never once have I been disappointed unsatisfied with their service. Our office even orders catering from Luciano’s. Both owners are always very pleasant. The set up doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure it out. 1 line for the pasta, 1 line for the salad, then go to the cashier. The dine-in area is separate. Always delicious, always fresh, always courteous. I have tried almost everything on their menu and it’s all very scrumptious. For me, the portions are huge, and I always wind up packing the leftovers. Great value and quality for the money.

I come here fairly often be it for lunch, dinner, or after work drinks. It’s convenient, reasonably good quality, and affordable. It can get pretty crowded, especially around lunch time. What do you expect though? Good food at a reasonable price is worth waiting a few minutes for.

This place is pretty convenient and reasonable value for you buck until you run into the owner Mr. Butt Head. Mr. Butt Head is a part owner splitting the buck with the older Luchiano who is a gentleman. Unlike Luchiano, Mr. Butt Head is a food nazi barking at people who bring food from outside, ordering people which line to stand in, and putting up annoying signs around the facility. Speaking of lines. There is line for salad, line for pizza, line for sandwiches, line for pasta, and line to pay. Mr. Butt Head has no idea how to run his place other than to blame his customer for not learning his«system». Don’t waste your money and time waiting in long lines and instead go to Hill Country, Roco Tacos, Chipotle, 5 Guys, or a dozen other places near by.

I would not go back there for a salad. They are overly priced and the server is cheap with the chicken. Nonsense to pay $ 14 for a salad.

The portions they have are huge. I had one of the pizzas and it comes with a soda. I definitely want to go to try their other foods. They have a huge variety, from paninas to pasta to salads. They have it all. They have a dine in, take out, even delivery option which is really nice.

Had to go to Metro Tech Plaza in Brooklyn on Friday, but got there early and had time for lunch. Thought I would try Luciano’s. Best decision I made all day. I tried the build your own hot pasta dish for lunch. I had penne past with pesto sauce, fresh spinach, broccoli, and chicken breast. The dish was full of flavor and the smell was amazing. The dish comes with a piece of Italian bread which came in handy for dipping in the pesto when the lunch was done. The only down side about the dish was the large amount of salt in it. The resturant has great ambiance. I found window seating and enjoyed my meal while listening to a rock and roll music playing in the back round.

Awesome for a fast and easy lunch! Got a personal sized pepperoni pizza which was still huge. Definitely taking the leftovers with me ! The line moved quick and easy. Pizza tastes good can’t complain for a lunch under $ 10 in downtown Brooklyn !

It would be generous to call the food and the service mediocre. That’s not the tale I’m telling today, though, folks. Here’s what happened: My colleagues and I went to Luciano’s after a meeting to get some food. Luciano’s is over-priced and under-staffed, but it’s in the area and there’s more seating there than at the Chipotle. We waited for a half hour after being seated, at which point I flagged down a waiter so we could order. We ordered some food, and waters – not cocktails or beers, waters, which should take maybe 5 minutes, tops(I used to be a server, it makes absolutely no sense that we had to ask for water and then never received it). Luciano’s was crowded for a Thursday– lots of Finance bros from Metrotech being obnoxious. My one friend, who is a person of color(more on why I mention this in a moment), was sitting at our table. A white man passed by us and told my friend he had to move, because he was blocking the aisle. The man was rude, and my friend wasn’t blocking the aisle, he was just sitting where the chair was placed at the table. My friend said«don’t worry about it», at which point this«gentleman» identified himself as the business’s owner and told my friend«that’s not the correct response to what I said» and that my friend had to move to another seat. Things quickly got loud, and we decided to leave. None of our food had been sent to the kitchen, and we hadn’t even received our waters, so there was no need to charge us. However, when I went to get the credit card I had left for a potential tab, the white guy said he was going to scan my card, because we ordered food and we owed him that. We argued with him, he argued back, it got ugly. It took me calling him«disgusting»(which he was) and pointing out that the only people he bothered were at my table, with the only minorities in the establishment, to get him to give back my credit card. I’m extremely disturbed by this event. The owner was openly rude to us, and on top of having bad service and bad food, Luciano’s apparently racially profiles. I recommend you go literally anywhere else and let this miserable gentleman go out of business.

I should preface my review with saying that the food alone would receive a 2 to 3 star rating. Do not walk in expecting a gourmet Italian meal, I know and enjoy well done Italian cuisine but this was just fine for a lunch close to work– you get what you expect in the quality department. My bone to pick is with the staff. As a group of 12, we made a reservation for 1 o’clock, with a possible arrival time of 1:02 or 1:03. We sat almost immediately and were given two menus. After waiting 5 minutes or so we asked to put in drinks– at which point we requested to order our meals. The waitress told us to «hold on.» Ten minutes later the drinks arrived and five minutes after we ordered. It is now 1:55PM, and many of the colleagues at lunch are support staff without the flexibility of returning late to the office. After being in an establishment that only caters to a lunch crowd for over 50 minutes I was outraged when the waitresses became annoyed at our party for requesting the food to go. A few of us stayed back to take all of the orders at around 2:10/2:15. With mediocre food, an absurd wait time and a rude waitress and manager I refuse to give them business again. I wouldn’t sit in Peter Luger’s for over an hour without food– I’m certainly not going to do so in an establishment whose sole purpose is to serve a midday office crowd.

How could I give Luciano’s one star you ask? Easy! The manager is a total asshole. He lacks customer service skills and that severely took away from the food, décor, price etc. I ate there today(Dec 182014) and since I was dining in they put my food in a ceramic bowl. I was not able to finish all of my food, so I requested a to-go bowl. I was given a metal pan with a plastic lid. I requested the plastic bowl, they didn’t want to give me plastic. The girl behind the counter simply said«We are not allowed!». I ask to speak to a manager. A white male, short, thin, with a dark green button down polo shirt with a red horse on the pocket and slightly balding comes out and says the following things: –When you eat in and you think you are not going to finish your food you should get your food in a to-go(plastic) bowl.(So now I’m psychic about if I am going to finish my food.) –It costs him too much money to give everyone who wants their food to go a plastic bowl(really?! They sell those at the .99 cents store and as a business owner you buy in bulk– so WTF) –He has to pay the cost of cleaning the dine in bowls that people eat out of and has to factor in the cost if one gets broken.(seriously!) –He hasn’t raised the prices of the food there in along time and it is attributed to his not giving out plastic to people who dined in. –While he said all of this his finger was mere inches away from my nose because he was holding his finger up to make a point He said he would give me the bowl as a «one time courtesy» for free, because the price is usually a dollar. Please note: Luciano’s is not cheap food. The average meal is like $ 9 – 12. The fact that he acted like this is ridiculous. I was so appalled by his attitude I have no intentions of EVER eating, or drinking from this place again. I also will make sure I tell everyone I know in the area(where I have worked for 5 years now) about this and to be wary of spending their money here.

I’ve only been here once but I am a fan. The dishes are huge and fresh and reasonably priced. How can you beat that? You can’t! I ordered the chicken penne pasta. The sauce was delicious the chicken was tender and they gave me enough food to have it for lunch again the next day. Definitely give this place a try!

The only bad thing I can say about Luciano’s is the way they have the ordering and paying system set-up. You can never tell who is on line for what. I also don’t like that they have a credit card minimum. The amount of volume they do should more than make up for that. There is one really annoying guy that eats here all the time. He follows the owner around like a lost puppy. He thinks he is the Godfather of Luciano’s. Anyway, now the great stuff. The staff here is awesome. Even though it always insanely busy they take the time to smile and make sure they get your order right. The pasta bar is incredible. The personal pizzas are always good and they actually have the best breakfast nearby. And last but not least, the cashiers, very nice and very beautiful. Don’t blush now girls.

If you are ever spending a day in downtown Brooklyn and want to avoid the typical fast food stops, Luciano’s is that place you should hit up… FRESH Italian foods, sandwiches and pizza’s made on the spot. And not to mention the pizza here IMO is some of the best in the city. Definitely come here if you want some inexpensive Italian food and avoid the typical fattening fast foods.

My co-worker introduced me to Lucianos when he found out that I was disappointed in Café Metro and said the salads at Lucianos are affordable and fresh, so I knew I had to give it a shot. The interior looks like a hot buffet place. It’s spacious and lots of seating area and has a full bar. Chicken Parmigiana Panini — It was absolutely tasty and humongous. Pretty good for $ 8.50. The quality is good and it just tasted very juicy. Salads — There’s a pretty huge salad bar with different ingredients you can choose from. It amazed me that they had portobello mushrooms as one of the toppings for the salad. The salads here are fresh, tasty, and cheap! Pesto Pasta with Mushrooms — The pasta was a little overcooked, but otherwise it was very flavorful and love that the chefs gave a lot of mushrooms because I love mushrooms. Overall, Luciano’s is a step up better than Café Metro and it’s a good place to come for good Italian food. At least I think it’s good enough for Downtown Brooklyn.
