Mom turned 100 and to celebrate she asked to go to Mill Basin Deli. Great food, great service. Mom ordered pastrami on rye, finish and a beer. At 100, way to go Mamma!

Unbelievable, me and my son went on to order one two matzah ball soup and one pastrami sandwich to share and they asked us if we wanted a side order. We said no but they said that if we wanted to share the sandwich without the side dish, we had to pay a sharing charge, A SHARINGCHARGE! This is absolutely ridiculous for a resturant to do something like this

I’ve been a pretty regular customer of Mill Basin Deli for a lot of years. Whether you pick up, sit down to eat or have something delivered, the food is of a consistent high quality. I used to live just a few blocks away and was pretty much a regular. When I moved to Marine Park, they continued to deliver when I couldn’t drive over. Now I’m staying in a Rehab facility in Brighton Beach due to a medical emergency. They STILL deliver way out here. And in an extremely timely manner. Besides the best frankfurters and best pastrami in Brooklyn, my personal favorite is the sliced steak on garlic bread. This is an extraordinary sandwich and rivals any steakhouse in NY. Thanks Mill Basin!!!

We ordered from Mill Basin Deli Saturday afternoon through GrubHub, starving as usual. Before I talk about the food, our order did not arrive on time. More like 20 minutes later, but GrubHub did offer us a $ 5 credit towards our next order. So that was nice of them. We ordered potato chips(crispy latkas) a smoked turkey wrap, soups, perogies, hot dogs and some other small eats. I’d rate the food at a 6.5. It was good and I’d order again so I can try some other eats but it’s pretty basic and of course deli style. The hot dog was advertised as huge, but was not so huge at all. The soup could have used some more spices but it was still hearty and delicious. I did read a couple of reviews talking about the service being sub par but I only dealt with Grubhub and besides the delivery being late, my order was good. I’m looking forward to trying some other Deli eats in the future.

I ordered the Flowering Onion and was shocked at how horrible it was. It looked okay, but it tasted corn mealy without any seasoning whatsoever. Don’t order this thinking about Outback Steakhouse’s Blooming Onion. You will be deeply disappointed.

The food was great, but the lackluster service makes me bring this down to 2 stars. We were shown to a table in the back and given menus, cole slaw, and pickles. We wait. We wait. We wait. I can see our waitress sitting at a table outside of our area, and I even heard the hostess tell her she had a table in her section. When she didn’t bother getting up after 15 minutes, I called over another waitress and asked her if she could take our order. Only then did our waitress bother to get up, and without even an apology, took our drink and food orders at the same time. Don’t know if she was bored or just didn’t give a shit, but it really overshadowed our time there. I was going to order a couple of appetizers to try but by the time she came over I just wanted to leave and ordered only dinner.

Most likely best kosher deli in Brooklyn. Food is top notch. Matzo ball soup, corned beef, pastrami perfect and brisket sweet flavor and melts in your mouth. Service not great though.

A big let down, the six of us drove down today(thee hours) to go to what we heard was one of the best delis in NY. Their pastrami was very dry, chopped liver had an off to funny smell to it-we did not eat it. Knish was good not over the top just good… call it a 2.5 out of 4 stars We all shared some of each others food and all in all the consensus was a big let down and we would not go back. My .02 find another deli to experience the best of what NY has to offer because Mill Basin is in the basement of the list.

I’ve stopped in a few times and Mill Basin Deli rocks! I come all the way from Manhattan! As soon as you walk in, you are treated like family, everyone is super nice and very attentive. The food is great and very fresh, the latke chips are fantastic, can’t find this anywhere else! If you are in the neighborhood and like old school kosher deli food, I highly recommend Mill Basin Deli!

The best chicken salad I’ve ever had! The best split pea soup I’ve ever had. Vegetable soup is very hearty. Friendly staff. Sizable portions. A little pricey but totally worth it.

I recently wanted to treat my little brother to the mill basin deli experience that I’ve heard so much about. We embarked hungry and excited, and as we pulled up we saw a nice looking reasonably priced special on two hot dogs and a knish. We walked in to be seated and put in an order. the sandwiches were expensive but I assumed the taste would justify the price. Unfortunately I was wrong. Additionally, we were told that if we sit down to eat the hot dogs and a knish the special does not apply. No problem, but maybe that should be indicated before we sit down. I ordered a twenty dollar sandwich that didn’t even come with fries and it tasted like a sandwich I could have made at home. The fries cost extra and were dry and uneventful. When I inquired about whether the sandwich came with fries the waitress said no, but enthusiastically told us that our meal would come with unlimited cold slaw and pickles. However, after she brought us our food, she disappeared. You get free pickles and cole slaw if you barge into the kitchen I guess. This place is absurd. I ended up spending more than sixty bucks average sandwiches and hot dogs. I felt like I had been mugged. This place is a racket.

This was an old family standard for us for many years. This year, we decided to have Thanksgiving Dinner here and make things easy for my wife(and I). It was very disappointing. I had pastrami which was reasonably good, but my wife ordered the thanksgiving special — a total let-down. The turkey was not fresh, it was served with no real turkey gravy, no cranberry sauce and no taste. I do not think I am a harsh reviewer and i wanted to so like this –place but — «Meh», the supplied Unilocal title for a 2 star review says it all — a good deal of money and no real value. Its back to the 2nd Avenue Deli for us !!! It’s worth the trip — this was not.

As soon as you walk in to this deli you are immediately given pickles, coleslaw, and macaroni salad which is delicious! The pastrami on rye is absolutely sinful, melts in your mouth! And the latka chips are equally delicious! Staff is always on their toes and super friendly… I literally dream about their food, def a must try if you are in the area!

Through a strange series of events on Marathon Sunday, we found ourselves in the area and stopped in here for a sandwich yesterday. Not sure it’ll ever be convenient for me to swing by Mill Basin again, but I’d like to give this place another try(for a number of items, starting with the pastrami egg roll). Really enjoyed the neighborhood vibe. Had some solid kreplach and a very good brisket on rye(fresh, got the first slices of a new piece).

The absolute worst Seamless experience we’ve ever had, ever. We ordered at 7p.m. At 8p.m., we get a call asking for directions from a guy who clearly didn’t know how to google or map the address we gave him. Twenty minutes later, still nothing, so we called the business. Fifteen minutes later, he finally arrived. The food was awful. 100% stone cold and required me turning the oven on to reheat. The $ 15 corned beef sandwich had maybe ¼ inch of meat, at most, that wasn’t even flavorful. The Matzo ball soup — had literally no seasoning. Campbell’s could have done better. The fries had potential, but lacked seasoning… and freshness. We paid $ 42 for absolute crap that arrived 1.5 hours after we ordered and was nearly inedible. Not to mention the delivery fee of $ 5 — why should anyone pay a delivery fee that steep when they have such poor delivery service? I had to make my husband go get it when it finally arrived so I didn’t lose it on the guy. Not to mention the fact that the bag he handed us reeked of cigarette smoke. Just never again.

Pastrami sandwich was just great. I thought there was more than enough meat to eat at least for me. The price was a little steep for a sandwich which is why I don’t eat there more. Look forward to four back as soon as I sell my wife jewelry.

Try to come here once a month. Love the food & their skirt steak is too die for. Franks in a blank are yummy & I love the half sour pickles… I also will get the Matzo ball tho w/out the soup…

Came into Mill Basin Deli for lunch. The food was amazing, the only thing I didn’t like was that the broth for the matzah ball soup was a little bland, though the actual matzah ball was so good. The portions of food that they give are really big, and the prices are great. The only other negative thing I have to say is that the service isn’t great. The waitress doesn’t come over unless you call her over, which was annoying.

My family does our own cooking at Thanksgiving but this unusual year we needed a catered turkey. We used Mill Basin Deli because we’ve had good experiences with their catering in the past, but this time we were disappointed. We pre-ordered the hot freshly-cooked uncarved turkey rather than the precooked carved turkey that would need reheating. At the promised time our turkey was not ready and we had to wait. At home we saw that we’d been cheated and hadn’t gotten the 14 pounds we’d paid for. Three very experienced cooks at our dinner estimated it was only about 10 pounds. Our guests commented that the meat of the turkey was moist and tasty enough but that all the skin was soggy. None of it was the least bit browned or crispy, bummer! The rest of the food that came with the holiday package tasted like okay diner food. The«stuffing» was very odd – a solid rectangular section of bread kugel that we cut into squares to serve. We enjoyed all the other sides brought by guests much more than the deli’s. If we need to cater another holiday dinner, we’ll try somewhere else.
