He is a very good and thorough doctor … who has ZERO respect for his patients’ time. If you have a difficult condition and are willing to spend all day getting exactly the right care, this office is for you! If you have a routine matter, go someplace that isn’t horribly overbooked.
The first time I arrived, the tiny waiting room was FULL — 6 – 8 people all waiting to see the same doctor, which puts him 6 – 8 patients (3 hours?) behind. Was he hurrying? Nope, the doctor was sweeping his own entryway (!), while three (!) women who worked for him stood around doing little (one tried to take the broom from him). I waited about 1 hr 45 minutes for my appointment.
Second time, same thing (well, minus the sweeping). I was about to leave when I was finally called in, only to have drops put in my eyes and be SENT BACK TO THE WAITING ROOM WHILE HE SAW OTHER PATIENTS. It would be one thing if that had happened after I’d been there for 15 minutes. But I’d already waited close to two hours to begin the appointment.
The doctor also has this weird thing going on where the patient in his exam room is the most important person in the world — yes, he will figure out your eye problem! — but the same patient, once in the waiting room, is treated like scum who is wasting his time.

I went to Dr Seidman for a second opinion, I had tried another doctor in Park Slope and the treatment seemed very expensive for a simple cyst on the eye. He would have made me do multiple office visits, a health clearance and have surgery. Dr Seidman assured me that I didn’t need a procedure with anesthetist and hospital setting. After doing thorough eye tests, he simply drained the cyst in a simple office visit.
This is a doctor who I will definitely go back to. He did not try to inflate his income at my expense by sending me for the same procedure in a hospital setting. Health Insurance is changing and patients are not going to continue to be agnostic to whatever doctors prescribe. I am very happy with Dr Seidman and very annoyed that other doctor!

Woa — when I went into see Dr. Seidman I had quite a doozy of a condition. Felt nothing like this kind of pain in my life — and it’s a rare thing to happen to most people. Everyone in the office was so nice — I could always get an appointment easily (go early if you don’t want to wait).
I often had to go twice a week in the beginning of my condition. And Dr. Seidman has clearly seen thousands of eyes — he’s cautious when he needed to be and aggressive when he needed to be. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
