be warned: they have a «c» sanitation grade from the health department. i got sick from eating here. chef is rude and disrespectful to the workers. if you do go here, request«andrew». he is friendly and will take care of you.

a very lovely French restaurant… mussels are super delicious, so are the fries… steak tartare is pretty good … Crème brûlée isn’t the best desert but I recommend bread pudding instead. We’ll definitely go back. Note that they only accept Amex or cash, but there is an ATM inside.

Great spot in the neighborhood. For brunch I’ve had the eggs benedict, and for dinner I’ve tried the mac and cheese, cauliflower gratin, and brussels sprouts. All solid, and the prices are great.

This time, I saw the same dude that asked me for money the night before. He was in front of Mominette and asked for money again. I said no and gave him a really dirty look. I went in and ordered the Southern Fried Chicken with the Mac n Cheese. It didn’t look like what I expected. So here are pics, so you know. Chicken was actually pretty good. Mac n Cheese was a little dry. When I left, I was wondering if the panhandler was still outside. He was peeking around the corner and when I looked at him, he hid back behind wall.

My friends and I came here for brunch this morning. We were told to wait at the bar until they could seat us outside and it would be 15 minutes. After 25 minutes went by we asked the sever if we could sit because there were empty tables outside. He told us to ask the bartender. The bartender yelled and us and said, «didn’t I tell you it’s 15 minutes??» Needless to say we left. Also this place has a C rating on heir health inspection. Gross.

I’ve been back a few times since my first experience here and I have grown to really like this place. The brunch scene is always popping here. Service has been consistently cool and the garden is still one of the flyest I’ve seen yet.

Mominette is probably the best place I went to in Brooklyn. The breakfast was amazing. SOGOOD. Amazing. SOGOOD. I had to repeat myself because I was in shock. first and foremost it had the cutest greenhouse type patio that we got to eat on. They have juice drinks you can add alcohol to them — so yes please. We had a lot of meals at our place — omlettes, momlettes, open face omlettes(the bacon and apple was SOGOOD), eggs benedict, mac and cheese and the ultimate pancake. Like this pancake was a breakfast cake. We shared it. 5 girls. And we all loved it. This is a must in you’re in the Bushwick area. Cash only — but there is an ATM inside. One down fall — the avocado«mouse». It tasted like acid. Just get regular avacados, please. That is all.

Used to love this place when the old staff was there. Something changed internally and its lost its spark. Bartender and staff did not look clean or professional compared to the old ones. Bartender is not as good the old one and the menu is less than desirable. A shame to see it go down hill when I used to love it so much.

Saturday Dinner. Party of 3. 8PM sharp. Place was nearly empty. Hmm… The menu looked promising at first glance, so we came to an agreement to share various dishes. What could possible go wrong? Flash cooked(?) Beef Tartare — I would have ordered this dish with a side of their kitty litter if I had known the beef was going to look like processed cat food. Meow? No thanks. Isn’t tartare literally mean«rare» in French? I’m pretty sure it does, but I could be wrong. This was unlike any tartare I’ve ever had. Overall, it was… interesting. In a really bad way. Ratatouille Gratin — The beef tartare made the gratin taste like gold. I was pleased with this dish. Lamb Sausage — Gamey and good, but $ 6 for a link? C’mon man… Our French server enjoyed showing off his French accent, and kindly asked us to leave after we paid because«other guests» were«…waiting to be seated». Which was not true, because no one was waiting. Also, isn’t it a big NONO in the food industry to say such things to patrons? I’m a veteran Unilocal!reviewer and demand respect, dammit.

The positives: Lovely atmosphere. It is very cozy and our server(from France) was pleasant and efficient. My cocktail was incredible– Le Mominette. It is an absinthe cocktail that was light and refreshing despite being potent and flavorful. A real delight. The negatives: Unfortunately, I wasn’t wild about the food. We shared the gnocchi and the french onion soup. The gnocchi had this odd flavor that almost tasted like it was cooked in the same pan as the escargot. This flavor was very out of place in the dish and turned me off from it. The soup was topped not with bread but with those little toast crackers that were on the table as a bar snack. This did not work for me. Also, the soup was unbalanced by too many onions and barely any broth. I would return again for that 5 star cocktail and the nice ambience.

So far I have only been in for Brunch, but would love to return for dinner as well. Mominette had great reviews and we were not disappointed with our experience. The interior is very cute and the best part is the lovely enclosed patio they have out back. I’m not sure if you can sit in there year round, but I’m sure it’s particularly nice on spring and summer nights. We each got the Eggs Benedict, which seemed to be what everyone was ordering when we were there. I had mine with bacon for the first time and it was awesome! It’s a pretty simple dish, but I really enjoyed the flavor and creaminess of their Hollandaise and appreciated the perfectly cooked poached eggs. They make a great Bloody Mary as well, the kind with a lot of pepper and horseradish if that’s what you’re into! Service was attentive. Note that they only accept Amex cards and cash, but they do have an ATM on site for convenience. I know some people have called out the big fat C rating in front. We noticed it right away and did ask about it. Apparently it has something to do with the location of the kitchen. Whatever the case, the food tasted fresh and the place didn’t seem dirty. I would definitely return and would recommend stopping in for brunch. I will update once I visit for dinner.

OK for starters they have a C. yes that right people in the nyc health food grade this establishment has a C. So basically they are failing! Let’s talk about their burger and fries. The burger smaller than a child’s Palm. A burger only slightly larger than a silver dollar. A burger too big for an ant to eat all by itself, too small for a bird to have a full snack. The fries, just potato shavings really. How can a «French» establishment have any self respect if they serve such meager little handful of fried potato bits. The only saving grace of this establishment is dollar oysters.

Cute solid place in the neighborhood. Came here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and there were plenty of open tables though the backyard was full. Service was friendly. I had the eggs florentine that came with a salad and potatoes. Very filling meal. The eggs were poached well and the hollandaise sauce was tasty. The potatoes were really good — nice and crispy on the outside but soft inside. Very affordable so a good choice if you’re in the area.

Came with a party of six and was able to choose outdoor seating right away. Service was quick with the water as soon as we sat down. Got a bottle of champagne and a bottle of red for the table, they didn’t offer tasting but fortunately we liked the drinks. As for the food: the grilled watermelon salad is great, savory and sweet at the same time. A bit overpriced in my opinion. The portions for the cheeseboard were tiny; expected a larger chunk than what we received. The apples and jam on the side was delicious with the cheese though. I also got a dozen oysters for the happy hour — these I would not recommend getting. Maybe that day’s selection wasn’t great or something, but the oysters were very small and the brine was not consistent. We got a handful of other appetizers but other than the watermelon salad, nothing was too memorable. For the main: the ginger beat salmon was very well cooked. Soft, fresh, savory, with a side of arugula salad. Orange was a refreshing touch. Chicken Diane was good but nothing out of the ordinary; the honey mustard vinaigrette marinade was flavorful but I didn’t think the chicken absorbed all of that well. Calamari parpadelle pasta had a lot of seafood toppings and the pasta was cooked al Dante, perfect for my taste. Gratins: GETTHEMACANDCHEESE. This was perhaps the best Mac and cheese I have had in a while. The cheesey, gooey, creamy goodness had everyone at our table scraping for more. Ratatouille gratin was good but the cheese layer was a bit thick compared to the vegetables. Spicy shrimp gratin was good but didn’t blow my mind or anything. Solid dish. I would recommend this place for the cute garden seating and the variety of dishes they have, but not for the oysters. Also, payment option is only cash or AMEX, which is strange to me because it’s usually the other way around… As in no Amex. They do have an ATM in the restaurant but it probably will incur a heavy use fee. All in all, a pretty solid dining option. I just wish the neighborhood would get better faster.

I’m not sure why the reviews here or so mixed– Mominette is definitely my new go-to place for brunch in Bushwick. Service was very friendly and helpful– we were having trouble deciding on our meals, and our server gave us great recommendations. I had the Eggs Norwegian($ 11), basically eggs benedict with smoked salmon. I know, it’s a basic b brunch choice, but Mominette killed it. The eggs were poached perfectly, and the salad /potatoes that accompanied it were amazing. If you’re going for brunch, definitely get something that comes with home fries. They’re perfectly crisp and salty and covered in Gruyère cheese… what’s not to love? We also got a side of avocado mousse to accompany an omelette– this I would skip. Although it had an interesting limey taste, the portion size was not worth $ 2. Cash only, but there’s an ATM inside. Can’t wait for a nice day so we can eat in their outdoor garden!

So I found this place on . shout out to them! Anyone looking for Bushwick event info you should check out the e-mailing list. Anywho I decided to check out the Jazz Night which is on Tuesday where they feature a live band from 9 – 11(they close at 12) and I’m sooooo glad that I did. The bank is here every week and it’s just a chill place to have a drink and wind down in Bushwick. I originally came in for just a nice wine but ended up getting the vege burger as well which was quite tasty. I believe it has a chick pea/black bean mashup happening. If you want a real burger they go have that as well. All in all awesome place, finely lit, nice atmosphere. I will be back. And the band is awesome.

This review is strictly for the HH oysters: they are from Blue Point. Little to no texture, and were fairly small. They felt like they weren’t very well preserved, which made eating them a challenge.

Place deserves 4.5 stars( Unilocal whyyy cant we give .5 ratings?!) Everything was amazing. Brussel sprouts are one of my favorite dishes to order out, I love how every restaurant has their own take on them. When the server asked me if I minded if they included bacon, I knew I was in for a treat. WOWWWW. Just wow. Everyone in my group basically ended up fighting over this side. I will have to return solely to order these again. And again. And again. Other highlights: mac and cheese came out bubbling. As I’ve stated before, hard to mess up mac and cheese, but bonus points for being topped with baked breadcrumbs. Kale, great, seasoned perfectly. Drinks interesting, I got a kale gin mixture that tasted a lot more like kale than alcohol. Friends ordered burger and fried chicken. Didn’t get a chance to try but everyone was pretty blown away by the meal. CASHONLY

Walking down Knickerbocker Street in Bushwick you’ll feel like you’re in the real New York — white tanked fat men leaning out of windows, kids in catholic school uniforms, blaring Mexican pop music, locals wearing cheap neon sweat shirts and a bunch of junky stores. Mominette is a refitted old diner that flips to a charming aged French bistro quit nicely. The smiling waiters are kind and easy on the eyes and the menu is short — yet a bit American for lunch — mostly sandwiches including a corque madam and an onion gratin and frittes. Cute boy waiter recommended the burger but I went for the mussels, which were too small but the broth was exquisite swimming with jewels of butter and sweet shallots. Frittes were good too, but it was the cute hidden courtyard that stole the show. Wine prices started at $ 9 a glass and $ 35 a bottle, which wasn’t generous, especially for this working class neighborhood. Go for the quiet hidden courtyard and a glass of wine with friends if your in the neighborhood and like that European bistro thing. Otherwise, it’s not a destination in and of it’s self.
