This bar is right by my house so I had to check it out. I got some really weird vibes. First off, the owner and bartender were fighting. You could tell they didn’t like each other. Secondly, the place has an identity crisis. There’s an old school bar which is awesome then like an African theme? It didn’t really mesh. I also asked for 3 different types of beer — all of which they were out of. Oh well then.

New owners, complete renovation(it looks awesome). Work in progress but still a great bar! The owners personally talked to me and wanted input from someone who lived in the neighborhood! It’s not a hipster bar by any means but as the only bar in the neighborhood, it’ll do! Prices aren’t bad either. My recommendation: loose the Dj and hire someone to make you a playlist or just subscribe to pandora! Super friendly bartender and apparently there’s karaōke :)

Great neighborhood bar with a nice crowd. With 3 $ beers and the owner Alfonso behind the bar serving liberal pours on 4 $ mixed drinks, this is my favorite Bushwick bar. Friday nights are by far the best night, with salsa, merengue, bachata, and reggaeton playing all night. They also have a small kitchen serving Central American staples on Friday night for a reasonable price. Late Saturday night also picks up with a good crowd. On the downside, if you stop by during the week or early Saturday, you are likely to be sitting alone at the bar.
