If I could give this place zero stars I would. I went in there and it smelled dirty. Not sure if it was the carpet or what but that alone made me not want to be there. I would not eat or drink here. Also, careful with buying a Groupon for this place because they’ll just honor the value of the coupon($ 68) and not what is advertised(one appetizer, two entrees and two drinks). $ 68 would not cover a full course meal.

I am only giving them 2 stars because the food was great. But it took way too long for even the appetizers to come out. My hookah burned so quickly in the first five mins and when I asked for another head, it took 30mins minimum for it and I had to ask again. Mind you, there were only two other customers in the restaurant. The waitress looked disgusted with us due to me having to blow into the hookah head itself to try and clear it. Never going there again and never recommending it to anyone. Go to Sahara across the street for great food or myst lounge for good hookah. And anywhere else would have respectful waitresses.

Only reason not a 5 star was the«mandatory coach check» why? Have been here a lot and the atmosphere is good. Service is good. But the new policy is pointless especially since they converted one of the booths as the storage. Overall good place to relax and enjoy a hookah on the weekend

Hey when you guys will start accepting credit and debit cards again? You have signs saying you accept them but you don’t. Sometimes the waiters tell you before you order and also sometimes when you ask for the check they tell you last minute. No one wants to use the Atm inside and pay a fee on top of that.

Where do I begin? Came here with a groupon. Food was atrocious! Ordered an Egyptian platter for appetizer. Falafel was good. Babaganoush was right out of a container and more mayonnaise then eggplant. Platter was advertised as coming with olives but wasn’t sent out with. When I pointed this out to the waitress(who was the only pleasant part of this disaster) she came back with some cocktail olives from the bar. Hummus was also out of a container stale and tasteless. Ordered the ribeye. It was a tough chewy overdone chuck piece of meat and certainly not ribeye, and slathered in a terrible sugary sauce that clearly came out of a big plastic jug labeled bubba’s bbq something or other. Fries were a barely thawed pre-frozen chewy disaster. I ate two bites and conceded defeat. This piece of meat was clearly tougher than me. In short. Terrible. Inedible. Literally. My gf had the shrimp with pasta in some sort of cream sauce. She said it was all right at best. At least she managed to eat half of it. Drinks are overpriced. They charged me 8 dollars for a beer! On Coney Island ave. in Brooklyn! Seating was uncomfortable. Even low benches should have some sort of back support. We were going to have hookah but after that failure of a meal we just wanted to get the hell out of there. If you are just going to smoke hookah then it seems all right. Food is a nightmare though and drinks are way overpriced.

I purchased a groupon for this place and it was not the best purchase I’ve made. The food took forever to come out and the service was horrible. Overall, I will not visit this place again !

Our hostess and waiterest was an awesome chick! She served also a lot of drinks and we took care of her bills of course! But we used our Unilocal coupon and got drinks on the house. Our table was really pleased and we enjoyed the night with some good drinks & great hookah! She hooked it up on what she could do and that was great help!

This place has a weird rule apparently. I showed up wearing shorts, just curious to see if I could get in. Upon looking in through door, I clearly saw a guy wearing shorts sitting down enjoying himself. So I thought, cool no worries. The bouncer comes over asks for my ID, here’s how the conversation went. «No shorts.» I reply with«There’s a guy wearing shorts sitting right there.» «Who?» “That guy right there.” «Oh. He was in there already, there’s no shorts past 9pm.» I look at my watch, it’s literally 9pm. «Right» I say and walk away. Nirvana, I don’t know what kind of bouncers or rules you have, but it should not be selective. Don’t worry, another hookah bar welcomed me that night, and I spent money freely and tipped well. I will be telling all of my friends to avoid this place.

Bought a groupon for 25 $ for one appetizer 2 entrees 2 drinks, when got the bill this guys charge extra 19 $ telling that the rules for a groupon charge higher price for a drink(what a bulshit) have been in a lot of restaurant and when I have a grouon they always respect the rules. this place not respect the the rules of groupon at all the prices not worth the food, 14 $ a kabob 22 $ for a patron margarita. Never will be back to this place.

I’ve only been here once, but I had a good experience. I came here on a date at around 9:00 on a Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t overly crowded. They have a spacious front area and towards the back they have a few smaller, more intimate sections. We opted to sit in the back and there was a group in the same section but across the room; the space was big enough where I didn’t feel like we were on top of each other at all. Also, because it’s dimly lit, it had a personal vibe to it. They had a good selection of drinks and hookah flavors; I didn’t look at the food menu, so I can’t comment on that. The hookah was fine, pretty much what you’d expect at any hookah spot, and the drink I got was really good. I ordered the Nirvana Martini, which had stoli orange, stoli vanilla, apple schnapps, crème de cacao white, and pineapple juice. It was delicious and very strong; I felt a nice buzz after one and I was definitely good for the night after a second. The negatives: the cushions were extremely uncomfortable. They are flat, worn out, and kept shifting so I had to keep adjusting it. Definitely in need of an upgrade. Also, the tables were kind of shabby; I think overall, this place could use some aesthetic TLC. Overall, I enjoyed myself and it’s close to my apartment so I would definitely come back.

The good: they honor their group on deals(no restriction on menu), cool décor, they serve good hookah, dj was giving good old school hip hop with a blend of new school ratchet music, and our seating area was perfect, the electric blue drinks can get people in trouble with how strong it was, the Rib-eye steak on the menu was everything! The Bad: the beef stroganoff left much to be desired, beef too chewy, rice too salty, but the mashed potatoes were just right. The ugly: The menu looks so nice and attractive but ¾ths of it were not available. Seriously, how do you not have lamb at a Mediterranian place? Why is my only option chicken, rib-eye, and beef stroganoff? You guys have got to do better! Still 4 stars because I had an amazing night out with the crew, free refills on hookah(we got the piña colada flavor and it tastes and smells like vanilla – went down very smooth for people like me who aren’t big on smoking hookah), seemed pretty strong. I also think that night was popping due to a private party going on it livening up the place even more. Even though it was a party for someone who was just turning 18, so there were a lot of minors there?! Regardless, I’m a fan and if they change their menu to reflect the kitchen’s inventory I will be back. Matter of fact, skipping the food might be a better bet: stick to the drinks and hookah.

I WILL definitely return to Nirvana! It was introduced to this hidden hookah oasis via Groupon. BTW for 27 bucks I received a shared appetizer, two entrees and two drinks! I was with a party of four and since the there was a private party in place, my group was tuck away in a separate area(which we enjoyed). They need to update the menu because we were told by the server they no longer have lamb(hopefully a temporary thing). The entrée prices vary from 13 bucks to about 34 bucks. Of course I went for the most pricey one. Gotta get the most BANG for my buck! Especially since my Groupon covered all entrees. We also order a hookah. The pina cola hookah was verry smooth and I didn’t wake up with a sore throat the next day. Maybe it’s just me hahahahaa. Anyway I love this new find. It’s local, festive, and live!
