As someone that lives in Manhattan, I often avoid Brooklyn, Greenpoint in particular, simply for the commute. There are very few things that I will take two trains and a bus for, but this restaurant has become one of them. The vibe is super laid back. When I was there, they had dim lighting, plenty of seats, and old school hip hop playing in the background. It’s definitely a good location for some late night eats alone or with a group. We ordered the Bo Dog and General Tso chicken fingers. We had also ordered regular fries but something in the system messed up and we were able to get the Beast fries for free! Free or paid, order those fries. They are seriously huge and the best drunk food a gal could ask for. Drinks can run you about $ 3-$ 11 dollars here, and most menu items were around $ 10. This place can’t be beat. Give it a try. You’ll enjoy it… even if your commute to Greenpoint is… intense.

By far my favorite bar in Greenpoint. Best picklebacks ever. If you like picklebacks you MUST try theirs. Their beast fries are also epic(waffle fries with pickled onions, jalapeños and cheese — come for brunch and add scrambled eggs, too!). Im also a huge fan of their Tuesday night recession special of elote and fried chicken. So so good. Great vibe, always good jams and there’s a billiard table as well.

Good casual local bar /tavern vibe. Friendly staff. Very cool little cave like atmosphere. Good creative food. Good beer. Nice crowd. Try the Bo Dog!!! It’s awesome! Hot but delicious!

Came here on a whim because we were starving and it was raining. The cocktail/drink menu was so impressive. Forgot the name, but I got some sort of gin/cucumber/ginger drink. Very well made. Delicious. They also offer lambrusco(my fav) which is a rare sight, especially for a bar! Also, you can«pick your poison» aka tell them your preference/taste and they make something to match. My friend did this and she was pleased. Food menu is super limited, even for Brooklyn. — We devoured the«altered beast fries»($ 9, pickled jalapeños, pickled red onions, mozzarella, feta cheese, roasted tomato mayo). It was very good/different/not too greasy or artificial and like I said before we were starved and willing to eat anything. — Broccoli tacos($ 10) my friend inhaled these before I could even take a look. Guess they were good. I think this is a specialty here. — I had the«total destruction and chaos» aka a burger with avocado, beets, cheese, onions, steak sauce which was good as well. They didn’t ask how I wanted it cooked and it came out medium rare(which I found annoying because that is not my usual preference). Was fine regardless and I ate it. The bartender was our server which was fine at first, he was very nice but then shortly after service became non-existent and it was difficult to order. Food also took a very long time to come out. We were there around 7:30−8pm so before the late night crowd. I would come back because the cocktails were excellent and we enjoyed the atmosphere very much. My friend lives walking distance so I probably WILL be back. I’m not a fan of the eating situation though.

You cannot beat this happy hour! $ 3 beers until 8pm!!! Really friendly staff. They need to work on their burgers… Their destruction burger was underwhelming. I wouldn’t get again.

I had to write a review after a really wonderful experience last week. I was having a rough morning(and week) and ended up taking the day off work. I stumbled upon No. 7 North for a tipple. The bartender Ann(e?) was just awesome. I had such a nice afternoon with delicious beer and great company. I also got a bottle of their hot sauce which I am pouring on everything now. So good. I’m looking forward to going back soon to try the food.

Altered Beast fries and broccoli tacos – Don’t ever take them off the menu. Thank you, No. 7!

This is a 1 star review based on a seamless order. I ordered the general tao’s chicken sandwich and waffle fries. The sandwich was literally the size of a single slider from white castle and the chicken was dry and bland. Id feel ripped off if I hadnt ordered a side of waffle fries. $ 7 for fries? Again, pretty high for what youre getting. But the fries were seasoned well and the sauce was good. Unfortunately they were soggy as all hell and I had to throw them in the oven. This meal was very unsatisfactory at any cost, but for their prices and fees it was even worse. I had broccoli tacos from the original restaurant in Ft green and that place was great. The crap their serving out at north is bad and they should feel bad. I dont think ill give them another go. Avoid.

Stoped in hungry looking for a late night meal. Got an excellent burger with fries. Rob recommended some great whiskeys for me and I tried the woodford rye. Very tasty. Good service good food.

I wanted to like this place but ended up feeling so-so. Maybe I ordered wrong? Was excited to get something veggie because seems like they’re somewhat known for that but I didn’t love the veggie burger with the«Total Chaos and Destruction» toppings. Avocado always sways my ordering decisions and the rest of the toppings sounded tasty but it just didn’t really work for me; the bun was too big and not great quality so I took the top off and ate it open-face. The avocado was a spread :(and not big, glorious chunks. Veggie burger itself wasn’t special. Bf got the regular burger and also didn’t rave about it. To drink I had the«Fools Gold» — I loooove jalapeño drinks and liked this at first, but the heat was soo strong(and I love me some heat) that it felt pretty one-note after a while. Also, at risk of sounding like a total grandma, the music was kinda intense for my dinner-soundtrack tastes. But the service was really nice, I didn’t feel rushed or slowed down by it.

Love this spot! Great atmosphere, drinks, and amazing food, perfect for a casual dinner. Lots of excellent vegetarian options — the broccoli tacos are incredible, I’m obsessed with them. I also highly recommend the brussels sprouts and veggie burger.

My sandwich was really good, but after tax and a small tip for takeout, it was 15 bucks. No matter how good it is, eating a $ 15 sandwich feels kinda dumb.

Nice enough local bar; good selection of beers on tap. It was time for brunch — menu selection was questionable. So I had a Bruce Leroy egg scramble which was just passable. It was served in a cereal bowl — huh? But on a brighter side the waffle fries were excellent. My Bloody Mary was too spicy for my taste.

This review is for a Sunday around 5PM — I’ll have to come back during peak hour sometime to see if they get that fifth star. Fast, friendly table service despite the bartender being the server. The zucchini parm sandwich blew me away and the Staten Island cocktail was strong and not too sweet. The space is refreshingly roomy compared to the cramped closets supposedly called restaurants around NYC.

Greenpoint isn’t known for cocktail bars and creative culinary experiences but No. 7 North has certainly changed that. I found this by accident while in the chill of the night on the way to a metal show at Saint Vitus I ducked into the first place that said cocktails in neon. To my surprise it turns out to be a branch of one of my favorite bars. No. 7 in Fort Greene holds a dear spot in my heart for not only being a welcome addition to the area in terms of cocktails but an incredible menu and beautifully designed space. So when I sat at the bar and saw that the coaster had a broccoli taco as a logo and I knew it could only be connected to the same bar that Matty Mathews opened up. I was lucky to have been there on their year anniversary, equipped with guest Bartenders from the likes of Weather Up and Feather Weight stirring great drinks. The layout and feel is wonderfully designed with its own signature feel, including a taxidermy peacock, but still hinting at its predecessor. The bar is welcoming and great to sit at for a meal as well as just a drink The space offers beautifully nooked banquets and booths and tables to slip into for a more intimate experience. The lighting is perfectly at mellow and the auditory atmosphere is comforting and allows for you to converse yet not be disturbed. If you haven’t been to No. 7 in Fort Greene… GO. If you haven’t been to No.7 North… GO. I can’t recommend Matty’s bars more, he knows what he’s doing in terms of creating a great space. If you haven’t yet to be graced with Chef Tyler’s Broccoli Tacos, then get on it soon.

I was really excited to try this place after seeing a bit on their burgers on NY Live. When I visited the website and saw the drink menu, I felt like this was the perfect place to take my hubby for his birthday. I can say that we definitely weren’t disappointed. He thoroughly enjoyed his Wahlburger. I had the veggie version which was really tasty. The drinks were tasty, but not as strong as I would have hoped – or our tolerance has gotten way high(we are drinkers, for sure). Our waiter was super cute, but had a sort of aloofness that could borderline as disinterested. I guess it just added to the experience because the service was attentive. Nice ambience. Should have played a round of pool.

I rarely bestow 5-star reviews, but this place was more than a nightcap in Greenpoint, it was the dining and drinking highlight of my month. We only got the Borough Cocktails(part of the Brooklyn passport 2-for-1 deal), but I loved each one of them. My friend’s Manhattan was solid, but my Queens was perfect and not too sweet despite the pineapple juice. I tried the Staten Island next which is definitely on the sugary side, but the rocks helped water it down just enough. However, the super friendly and helpful bartender offered to cut it down a bit with soda water after my first sip or two. We saw someone else at the bar order the Altered Beast Fries and decided they were a must Wow. They were devoured quickly with no waffle fry left behind. They were only $ 9 but definitely would have cost $ 12 or more elsewhere in the city. I can’t wait to come back and drink $ 7 cocktails and get those fries again(plus maybe an actual sandwich). My friend was intrigued by the fact that they have Taiwan beer here, so maybe we’ll skip the cocktails and get straight to the beer-shot combos with tacos.

Great short list of inexpensive house cocktails, some decent beers, great location. Pool table. Hot dog is awesome. Service on our last visit was comically terrible. 3 bartenders, all clueless or slow, or both. Lots of waiting: for menus, for the bar top to be wiped down(had to ask 2 ppl more than once), for our drinks, etc. –a solid 7 – 10 minutes for each part. Burger is cheap at $ 9, looks and tastes like it as well. Especially crappy. I think and hope they’ll get it right eventually, but there’s work to do yet.

I fell in like with this place almost instantly for a very strange but somehow justifiable(I think) reason. First impression as I walked in was a classy-chic décor and dark, intimate ambience. It was probably sometime past 10pm on a weekday(but the start of a long weekend), and we had no trouble getting seated — first at one of the high tables toward the back, then relocated to the bar for ease of debauchery. Also noticed a pool table in a separate room in the back — very cool. They have a unique list of cocktails, all reasonably priced and pretty damn strong. I especially liked the Pick-a-Borough selection: 5 cocktails named after each of the NYC boroughs, most containing dry vermouth. I got the Queens and friend Ron L. got the Brooklyn — they were served in stem glasses which explained the ABV proportion. Mine definitely hit the hard liquor spot in my liver and hence worth the buck. We also got the waffle fries which came with a spicy mayo-based sauce and somehow went quite well with the cocktails. I glanced through the shot specials while perusing the drinks menus, and my eyes instantly lit up at the Taiwan On — Taiwan beer with a shot of Jim Beam. I cannot stomach whiskey and I was also at my limit, but the mention of Taiwan beer in itself intrigued me, given that I’m Taiwanese and, as a dark beer enthusiast, actually enjoy Taiwan beer, which is a pale lager(at least the original brew in aluminum cans). Long story short(I’m working very hard on the brevity of my reviews), although I did not end up ordering a Taiwan On(but Ron did and I got to have a taste of the beer! :D), I did end up in a very enthused conversation on Taiwan beers with a fellow patron initialed K(or C? who happens to be a regular, partly for the Taiwan beer which she’s crazy about). I told her that the bottles taste much better than the cans(I neglected to differentiate the brown vs. the green bottles — I had meant the green bottle which was the Gold Medal brew), and she told me she would work her magic to get the owner to import those, or just fly over to Taiwan during her Asia trip later this year. Never have I In my 1.5-decade immigrant life in this country seen or even heard of Taiwan beer being sold or served anywhere. Either in can or bottle. I’m sure some local Chinese mart carries them, I just don’t know about it, but the fact that No. 7 North actually serves them — and at $ 3/can no less! — is telling, in a good way. A very good way. Good enough for me to come back and somehow befriend the owner and coax out of him his story of importing these babies. And maybe convince him to get the bottles, if K hasn’t already.

I came here on a recommendation from a friend, and I have to say this place does not disappoint. The sandwiches are amazing — yes, they do change their menus fairly often, but there is always something enjoyable available. The food is incredible. The drinks are so reasonably priced and are amazing. I ordered something off the cocktail menu from one of their other restaurants — they actually called the other restaurant to find out the ingredients and made it for me. Amazing service and food. The atmosphere is great — there’s a DJ who plays a great combo of Soul and old school Hip Hop. It’s all dark wood, candle lit. Great date spot. 10⁄10 would eat again

Cheap happy hour specials. Pretty friendly bartenders. A few really nice cocktails on the menu. The beer list is a little lacking. They have a really sweet pool table. Some of the food here is pretty damn good. I’m a serious carnivore, but the broccoli taco is probably the best vegetarian thing I’ve EVER eaten… really something special. Overall, this is a pretty solid place that should be busier than it is.

I have eaten thousands of veggie burgers and none of them compare to No. 7s. broccoli tacos are totally amazing. you can’t get anything like their food anywhere around here and if you give them less than 5 stars you should be ashamed of yourself. every single person that works there is sweet and nice and polite. Love the entire vibe.

Was invited for lunch, so hey, I’m there! First look at the menu, they have fresh takes and combinations on stuff we all love, plus veggie or meat burgers for the those seeking more traditional fare. We started off with the Brussels Sprouts and a Beast Nachos apps. The spouts were quick fried, tossed with lemon and seasonings, and a reason for a return visit! Beast Nachos, feta cheese, jalepenos, mozzarella all hot and gooey, and huge portion– three people ate this, still had leftover. For entrée, we ordered off the brunch menu, which isn’t posted on Unilocal I see. I forgot the name of the dish I ordered, but it was awesome. Big bowl, lined with nachos and toppings. Fried egg, shredded pulled pork, some veggies. One word review — Awesome. Two of us has this, and LOVED it. A side benefit of lunching with petite women is I get to sample their foods as well! The English Standard, a breakfast combo that had some stellar items. a mini Broccoli taco that was light, tasty. A deep fried egg, that when sliced had semi cooked, soft boiled yolk. I added feta from the beast nacho — oh my, foodie dream and cardiologist nightmare, but sooo worth it! Should be an app plate on its own! We were so stuffed, not even sure if they offered desserts, and I needed a recovery nap from such a huge meal.

I can’t even explain how disappointing this place is. I came in for lunch ready for my broccoli sub only to find it had changed its menu and no longer has the delicious sandwiches. I thought I would give the brunch menu a try and all I can say is boo. My breakfast Sammie was boring. And my boyfriend’s salad was literally a few pieces of romaine lettuce with no dressing, no nothing. Boo no. 7 sub. Bring back the sandwiches! Ps. Had to go to Peter Pan to make up for my sad lunch. Donuts that never disappoint.

No 7 subs, what happened to you? You’re making it harder and harder to try and support. Worst food ever set down in front of us. Brunch was completely inedible. No one came to check on us as we stared at the food for 20 min. Paid the full check as given to us and never stepping foot in here again. :peace sign emoji:
