Since there aren’t many places to get a good salad or fresh juices in the Flatbush area(by brooklyn college) I happened upon this place. I ordered a small salad, consisting of grilled chicken, crasins, mixed greens and feta… And also a small coconut and pineapple juice with almond milk and honey. There wasn’t much variety on what I could add to my salad and the fruits for the juices were frozen. Service was ok, nothing to write about. Anyway, after paying $ 16.85 for just those items. I proceeded to eat my salad in the car… OMgeeeeeeeee the salad was hot and the chicken was barely edible. The juice was ok but I wouldn’t go out my way to get it again. Maybe this review will push them in the right direction to improve the quality of their food and prices. Thank you!

Love this place! I Come get a salad here at least 3 – 4 times a week. Top quality products and cheaper than most of the place around here. The staff are very nice and helpful and they deliver quick! Will recommend and will keep coming here :)

Horrible. Never had their food and I won’t be trying it. I order a delivery and they said 30 minutes. I called when an hour passed and didn’t see the food. They guy tells me oh we had a problem with the credit card. Common sense wouldn’t tell you to call me and get the number again. Doesn’t apologize just asks for the number again. Jerks.

I’ve never had enough time to sit and eat. I’m always ordering to go but the décor is nice. I’m always ordering salads, or smoothies. This place is a must stop to if your in the area.

This place is fast with ordering. That is plus when you’re in a rush to class or work. I get smoothies, sandwiches and salads here. Their smoothies are okay. I wish they would cover their fruits & vegetables properly. Sandwiches come with lettuce & tomatoes. I like that they make the bread hot. My favorite is their salad. I usually get their unlimited small salads. They place all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix it. It comes out to about $ 9 when you add meat.

Horrible experience here with one of the ladies that worked here. I should’ve gotten her name… first of all, I told her I wanted the Kramer salad and she asked me if I wanted dressing and I said no dressing. And she repeated herself and so I repeated myself. So she made the salad with no dressing and it was warm… I don’t know why but who eats salads warm? It was disgusting. And I also asked for a BLT with ketchup, no mayo. She put mayo, no ketchup. And the worst part? It looks disgusting and tasted disgusting. I wish I took a picture of it but I was too disgusted. It looked like she tossed it around and then wrapped it. It was extremely messy when I got it and I am extremely dissatisfied, I do not recommend this place and I definitely won’t be back.

Salads are always delicious. They pack the small salad with unlimited toppings to the brim. Make sure you know the price of your salad before you approach the register because they will try to blindside you. Given that the price of my salad always changes despite ordering the same thing every single time, something is definitely amiss. Either they’re shady, I’m an idiot, or both. Don’t be an idiot.

Really enjoyable restaurant and take out place. Their salads are super tasty and healthy for you — yeah, it’s difficult to believe. I came here twice and I won’t stop coming back — it’s an affordable place with a wide selection of good and healthy food! Also, their proportions are huge — so typically a small salad WILL do justice to your stomach! They don’t only sell salads; Ovi’s also offers paninis, sandwiches, omelettes, actual meals like chicken, rice, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, fruit salads, desserts(cookies, bag of nuts, etc). They also have smoothies that they make for you(fresh) or you can opt for Naked beverages in the fridge as well as other assortment of unhealthy drinks(Pepsi, coca cola, etc). Seriously, this place is awesome! I recommend the chef salad, but you could also build your own salad, which is also pretty neat ! XD

The restaurant isn’t that big but it’s really nice. I walked in and it was a little crowded but seats were still available. I got a small chef’s salad and i was impressed with the amount of food they put into the salad. The salad has a lot of meat in it so its great for meat lovers trying to eat a little healthier. They are a little lax on the greens but its not too bad. This place alap makes smoothies, juice and fruit salads which are more healthy options. The price for my salad was worth it because i was actually full after eating it.

I’ve gone to Ovi’s for years but not anymore. Tired of the lame service, overcharging and giving back the wrong change. My co-worker said it best– in their minds customer service is about them not the customer. After being overcharged several times in a row I decided to save $$ and bring breakfast from home– better for my bank account. At one point I went 2−3x’s a week for the omelets but I noticed them using less egg so that the filling wasn’t completely covered and falling out of the bread. When you don’t go for awhile they treat you like family that hasn’t called home in months. When I said good morning they just stared at me. They had the nerve to charge me $ 1 for 1 lemon calling it extra vegetable in my juice. I pointed out that their sign said extra fruit is $.75 and lemon is a fruit. Does the owner/manager says«oops my mistake here’s your change?» no he says«I’m not going to argue with you over a quarter» I told him this is not the 1st time I’ve been overcharged and it’s why I don’t come here as much anymore. They also have the worst fried plantains I’ve ever had– I got them once and was shocked to be charged over $ 2 for 5 slices of plantain. They were frozen in the middle and tasted awful. There is a Chinese food take out place a block away that gives you 2 entire plantains for $ 2.25 and they make them fresh right in front of you. I lol that the best fried plantains by BC isn’t from Latinos but from Chinese. The prices for their juices and salads are in line with Manhattan prices the thing is it’s not Manhattan. Food options are very limited by Brooklyn College. I used to recommend Ovi’s but they not anymore. If a Dig Inn, Prete or Chipotle opened up next door this place would be out of business.

I love the salads here. The chicken is always moist and flavorful and it seems like everything is fresh.

All my Brooklyn College people know that the options near campus are extremely limited if you need something fast and aren’t down with eating McDonald’s and Burger King every day. Ovi’s is one of the better options around, and their prices aren’t unreasonable. The salads are decent(although the caesar salads I’ve had here have been equal parts lettuce, cheese, and croutons) and when I ate meat, the chicken meals were good for the price. Not the best or the cheapest, but definitely a solid option if you wanna stick close to campus.

I’d never enter Ovi’s it if there were better places in the area, or if BC food trucks were more reliable(nuchas, why are you so fickle?) seriously, though, they put a whole damn onion in my sandwich. I smelled like onion for the rest of the day. but there’s no other place within walking distance of BC that reliably sells any kind of vegetable, so Ovi’s it is…

As Ted C mentioned, the area has very few decent eating establishments. Ovi’s place isnt one of them either. Other posters that claim that this place is cheap are delusional, or rich! First of all their Menu board is a nightmare. For a place that basically just serves grilled chicken, wraps, salads and smoothies, you have to stand there for ten minutes trying to figure out whats what and what it costs. The sign is literally 6 feet tall by about 12 feet wide, and tiny print. I only wish I had a picture. Cost is the biggest concern. Everything is actually overpriced for a fast serve joint on Flatbush ave. A salad, which they’ll mix in front of you, will cost anywhere between 6 and $ 20 depending on what you select. The worst part is even if you select the same thing every time(I usually eat there about once a month) the price comes out different. They really nickle and dime you for every little thing, and you never know what the clerk will ring up. The food itself is just ok. The salads are fine, but the chicken is usually dry, and only the dressings makes it tolerable. My advice would be for this place to change its format to a self serve salad bar(by the pound) and take down that insane Menu! Also a maekover might help. It feels like a second-world island dive, in the middle of one of Brooklyn’s busiest intersections.

There aren’t too many options to eat around the junction that aren’t fast food or packed. Ovi’s Place is right near the Brooklyn College campus and has some good food and it’s really easy on the wallet. I always get their chicken breast and 1 side meal and I’m never disappointed. The grilled chicken has the right mix of juicy with a nice bit of char around the edging and their sides are huge portions of greens, mac and cheese, salad or 3 to 4 other options that I haven’t tried yet. I told the guy who was ringing me up that I liked spicy and now he puts a couple of other pickled veggies on that give it that extra kick along with their hot sauce. So glad this place is around because otherwise it would be nothing but the Golden Arches or BK to eat.

There Salads and Smoothies are the Bomb! This is my Goto spot for Salads and Smoothies every time I’m there. The Staff is very friendly and the place is clean. This spot is located right across from BK College and if you have a CUNYID from BK College your entitled to a discount on top of other discounts in the restaurant. There small Salads and there Large Salads are the same size so why are you paying $ 1 more? That’s the only down size. Everything else is no problem.
