Papa’s Halal Fried Chicken & Ice-Cream

munchies mania! they got the wangs, pizza, macaroni and cheese and all dat! great late night spot! prices are cheap too! i will be back!

Food is awesome and cheap. I love this place. I come very often and enjoy my experience.

They have some really bad customers service at this place. I ordered a phillicheesesteak, with fries and a soda and I got mince beef in a pita bread with soggy fries. I do not live near this place so I only notice what they gave me when I got home which was 5 miles from the store. When I called the guy I tried to explain to him what I got he said «yea I know we don’t have bread». I told him this is not the way to do business and he should have told me they didn’t have any bread and I would have ordered something else. He hung up the phone on me. I called back and asked to speak to the manager and the same guy who took my order and hung up the phone on me said he was the manager. I began to explain why he shouldn’t have done what he did and he just let me speak to myself there was no one on the other end. He just let the phone run. I could hear the people in the background talking in another language. I do not think they should have done what they did to me without apologizing or offering some type of compensation. I would never go back there again nor should anyone.

there are a bunch of idiots working in this place. Don’t know why they have 100 items on the menu. They are out of 95% of the items. The place is dirty. Has a weird smell when you walk in. They didn’t have anything on the menu that I wanted. So had to go elsewhere. How is this place still open?

First we tried to order for pick up and the idiot on the phone hung up on us twice. They didn’t even say the name of the restaurant when you call. We decided to go there and order. They had a bunch of menus on the walls. It was very confusing. We ordered the 9 piece. The wings were good however the rest of the chicken was greasy and bloody. It was so gross. Go somewhere else.

Before i write the review, i must say, i do not usually eat Halal food, i just entered the place because i was close by.
Now, with such a great location, i would excpect this place to offer better food. I ordered 3 slices of Pizza, but couldn’t even finish the first slice. I did not want to through it in front of the people who work in the place, so i just took it with me and «lost» it on my way home…
So, only if you have to…

If based on the two pieces of chicken I had for lunch, I’d give four stars. But, since they have other menu items such as pizza, cheese steaks, fish & chips, etc, I will give it a three star until I try more of Papa’s stuff.
Papa’s makes some decent fried chicken. Of course I’m only basing this on a quickie snack of a thigh and breast, but they tasted pretty good. Though the chicken itself seems to be of the same quality (depending how you look at it) of KFC, Popeye’s and Kennedy, Papa’s seems to infuse a tad of Pakistani flair in the seasoning. A little heavy on the salt and certainly greasy like most chicken places, the skin was crispy and seasoned well otherwise. Along with moist meat on both pieces and a nice peppery aftertaste/​kick, I would definitely stop by here again to soothe my fried chicken craving. They also have mac n’ cheese, which I didn’t know about until I looked at the menu when I got home, but I’d be interested to see what a Pakistani take on it is.
