I brought three pair of jeans 1 skinny, dressy, embossed pattern light grey, two regular black and dark blue to be hemmed and waist taken in. Grey jeans only had small gap in middle of back and blue and black was a little bigger in the waist. I am 5′ 2′ and 130 my jeans are not that big. I was charged $ 12.00 each hem. I said that is a lot for a hem because I pay $ 5.00 to $ 10.00 in Manhattan. So then she said $ 10.00. She charged $ 10.00 each waist I did not think that was bad I pay $ 15.00 in the City. She asked me for a deposit which I thought was strange. She told me to pick them up on Wednesday. I called my tailor that next morning and was told $ 5.00 to hem my jeans so I told the new tailor to just do the waist only. She said she started already because she was not busy. I did not believe her and told her so and asked her not to do the hem. She hung up the phone on me. Thursday she was calling me to pick up my clothes. It was not because she cared, seemed money hungry. When I got home and saw the work, the seams were uneven and she took all three pants in at the waist on both sides from the top to half inch into the pocket. The gray jeans only had small gap in the middle of the back of the waist. Now the grey jeans was a little tighter than I wanted and was the most noticably unflattering with the uneven seams. This did not look like the work of a professional tailor. I end up pulling all the stitches out of the grey jeans my self. The blue and black jeans were a little tighter than I wanted but wearable. I wanted to go complain so bad but I will take it as a lesson learned and stick with my tailor.
