This authentic cute little corner joint in Williamsburg served up some consistently solid southern French fare. The savory and sweet crepes are always amazing. Service is friendly even though they can get crowded sometimes. Definitely a place that we come back to time and time again.

This is a cute wonderful spot. Great to have brunch with friends or an intimate smily morning date. I thought I visited france:-) Server speak french, adorable! Their coffee is good. And oh man the crepes are all for tries! I don’t recommend the pasta or perhaps it wasn’t my cup of tea. It’s too heavy for brunch anyway. They do have an outdoor set up if you want to enjoy fresh air although there were no table available for us when we got there at 11 in the morning. I guess we are not the only admirers of this lovely restaurant. Convenient street parking. Affordable price, food are around $ 10 – 15 average. Go and enjoy!

This is the second time I’ve been here, and while the food is as good as I remembered, there was something that rubbed me the wrong way a bit regarding service… I wanted to order the walnut penne dish but was told there were out of walnuts, which was fine because I’m not the biggest fan of walnuts. I asked the waiter, who I think is the owner if I can get a substitute item instead of walnuts. He told I can get a vegetable; any vegetable I want but because the walnuts is just«sprinkled on top» and it’s not alot, but more of a garnish, I would have to pay for that item. Now I’m all for paying for an additional ingredient that I would like to have added to an existing dish, but when you’re out of something and then going to charge for the subsitute, that’s not cool! Would I go back to this place? Meh, yea i like the food and he wasn’t blatantly obnoxious or rude about it, but it more than likely won’t be any time soon.

Really important(food poisoning): On Friday, March 18th I came down with severe food poisoning after ordering from this restaurant through Seamless. I came home after a long evening and decided to order delivery with my girlfriend. We never tried this place before, and we were looking for something different. We ordered our food around 9:00PM and didn’t get our food until after 11:00PM. We had called the restaurant to ask them where our food was, and they said the delivery person was having a slight delay. When we finally got our food, my girlfriend noticed that the food looked as if it had been sitting out a very long time. There was condensation in the containers and the galettes looked wilted and cold. Even though the food didn’t look very appetizing, we decided to eat it anyway because we were starving at this point. This was a horrible mistake that would go on to cause constant discomfort, weeks of doctors visits, close to 10 days off of work, IV fluids, medical procedures, and medication. We ordered two galettes and a sausage platter that came with rice and salad. My girlfriend tried a bit of everything except the white rice, of which I ate. She didn’t come down with the illness I did, and we suspect that the bacteria was in the rice(probably Bacillus cereus or Staph). As soon as I was finished eating, I became severely ill. The minute I put the fork down I had to run to the bathroom. I spent the night violently vomiting and was up all night. We called Pates et Traditions the next day to let them know what happened and we found the manager to be unhelpful and defensive, claiming that he didn’t think it was the restaurant that caused my illness. What happened to me that night was 100% an episode of food poisoning from that food. The food must have been sitting out for a very long time while the delivery guy probably had it in the car for two hours. Since it was late at night, the rice that I had might have been sitting in a cooker all day. To make things worse, I ended up getting stomach ulcers from the vomiting and inflammation within my stomach(gastritis). I had to take a week off work because I had constant nausea, gagging and I was unable to eat. I ended up getting IV fluids and glucose towards the end of the week I took off. I’ve been to many clinic visits(including endoscopy) and a Gastroenterologist who put me on medication to ease the inflammation and ulcers. I am FINALLY doing better after over a month of discomfort, barely being able to eat, constant nausea, ulcers, etc. I’m really writing this review because I wanted to share my experience. It’s not coming from a place of anger. Shit happens. However, I am hoping that the restaurant will take a step back and consider if they are capable of delivery orders.

I absolutely love this place! It’s legitimately French and both Soraya(who I believe is the owner, if not one of the owners) and our server were great. They have cute indoor seating as well as amble outside seating. My friend and I chose to sit outside on a beautiful spring day not yet fully aware of or prepared for the deliciousness we were in store for. Their foie gras pâté is a must have! Words do not do it justice. Simply put, it was heaven. Their crêpes are great and are made with buckwheat flour. They are shaped more like galettes. We got La Norvegienne, which was fantastic and loaded with fresh ingredients — salmon, asparagus, goat cheese, zucchinis, onions, and swiss cheese. Our server recommended going with this one and we were grateful for it. Their espresso was not my favorite, but that became a distant memory after our food arrived. I highly recommend coming here and I plan to make it back whenever I’m in town.

I’m not sure how long Pates et Traditions has been open, but my life in New York has been incomplete before coming here. What a spectacularly homey and lovely little restaurant on a quiet corner in Williamsburg — away from the maddening mustaches and tight pants of the main drag of Bedford. The instant you step into this quiet and dark restaurant, you’re immediately in the comfort of a little café in the countryside of France — or better yet, the kitchen table of a French grandmother in Provence. The friendly French servers greeted and sat me at a little corner table where I sat on a cushioned bench that ran the length of the restaurant. I wanted everything on the menu and it was hard to whittle it down to just one entrée. But I settled on a glass of Côtes du Rhôné($ 9) and what I wanted the most: Mustard Chicken Penne($ 14). There’s nothing quite like a hearty rustic French pasta dish, and this didn’t disappoint. Tender chicken breast, Dijon mustard, onions, white wine and cream on top of perfectly al dente penne. The meal was perfect and I almost turned down dessert — then I realized how foolish that would be. An espresso($ 2.25) and spectacularly light La Beurre Sucre Citron(butter, sugar, lemon — $ 5). I can’t wait to come back here. I’ll be trying everything on the menu at some point. It all looks so, so good!

Discovered this quaint spot before a show at the Knitting Factory. Their crêpe game is truly on point. Sweet or savory, you win every time. Am I French yet?

This little French Gem is absolutely phenomenal. Especially for the price. I went with my sister and her friend Tina and we started with the foie gras which was to die for. Then for my entrée, I ordered the duck crêpe with goats cheese. OMG, So much flavor. I was in ecstasy. The owner was super awesome explaining everything on the menu. If your in Williamsburg, then you’ve got to check this place out. Thanks for making my belly so happy

I love this place! Great service. Delicious. Cheap. Quiet. Unique French Italian fusion. I got the La bourguignonne and it was the best damn crêpe of my life. We paid 81 $ for a five brunch party without alcohol. All five of us arrived noon on Sunday and got seated right away. This place is truly a gem with a very quirky, casual, vibe.

such a cute French café that reminds me of Paris came sunday at 1230 and didnt have to wait too long to be seated, they really go in rounds, many tables finished at the same time most authentic french crepes ive had in the U.S. since the last time i visited Paris, esp because the crepes are buckwheat! CHEAP brunch option since each crêpe only 10.50 and if you want to add meat or cheese you can so its more filling, but i was content after our crepes We got one savory and one sweet & salty to share –La Shrimp Curry: i’ve never tried french curry but this was TASTY, judging by the size and shape the shrimps were probably frozen shrimp but still loved this dish –La Bergere: i love goat cheese and this sweet & salty dish hit the spot! a bit heavier than the la shrimp curry due to the amount of cheese so i’m glad we went halfsies, dont think i’d be able to eat a whole one of these to myself go-to french crêpe café for sure! I want to try their pastas next time

My friend wanna brunch in Williamsburg with a outdoor seating. So yes we came here. Actually their outdoor set up is pretty tight but good enough. No lines & we got the outdoor table. We sat & server is very fast & attentive. I got my hot chocolate, friends got iced coffee & cappuccino. I love how my hot chocolate comes in a big mug & taste a little salty & sweet! My friends enjoyed their drinks too. But for the iced coffee too bad they don’t have simple syrup. For food I got the asparagus penne and it has proschutto, cream & pesto. It is creamy and the proschutto is salty so it makes it a little salty. But i love the asparagus in it & the pasta is perfectly cooked and also the cream is yummy! My friend got the mustard chicken penne but she ask the server if its possible not to put mustard & yes he said its fine and the food turns out really delicious. Its kinda semilar to my food but without the salty taste. My bf got the walnut penne, it has bacon, cream, walnut & onions. He love it! I tried this & I’m willing to trade my food for this because its really good. Cream without salty & that bacon is amazing! Great restaurant with great food!

Came here for brunch this past Saturday and it was a wonderful experience. First of all, I’d like to comment on how attentive and nice everyone who worked there was. Not to mention their French accents, which my friend and I are hoping were real. I mean it might be the little things, but our water was refilled instantaneously and being as clumsy as I am, I dropped my knife… which was replaced without me having to say anything to anyone. Two thumbs up for the customer service. Secondly, the atmosphere is ADORABLE. Everything is so cute and quirky. And finally, the food. I’ve had crepes in France and these are definitely on par with those. The actual crêpe was a little bit too overcooked for MY preference, but the filling inside was delicious and the portions are huge. We both had the La Chevre Crêpe(goat cheese, black tapenade, walnut, swiss cheese, and provence herbs), and both of us also added smoked salmon on to that(as suggested by our waiter), and it was superb. I honestly could not finish the crêpe considering how much actual food/stuffing is in it, but it was worth every bite. Definitely recommend. The latte was delicious too. Apart for the place being CASHONLY(which is expected in the neighborhood anyway), Pates Et Traditions is very deserving of these 5 stars. Definitely will be back!

I am used to try many crêpes(salty and sweet) in France and honestly there were really good at Pates et Traditions. And the owner is really welcoming :) Too bad they don’t have some Cidre to drink. Prices are good regarding the proportions and the taste. be careful: only cash, no credit card!(they have an ATM inside)

The crepes are otherwordly. I actually traveled to France and ate crepes there. I found these crepes to be as good or better than anything I consumed in France. I live in Forest Hills, so it’s an hour commute on the weekend to get here for brunch. But yes, I did in fact embark upon the trek. Because yes, the crepes are totally worth it. I enjoyed myself immensely when I last ventured out to Pates Et Traditions. I split two savory crepes with a friend — the snail crepes(absolutely yummers) and the La Bergere — goat cheese, figs, and honey. The snail crepes were totally delicious! On a separate occasion I had the Popeye, which I also loved. We also split some desert crepes — banana/nutella and chocolate/almond/pear. Both were exquisite. Anyway, I give this place five stars without reservation. I will at some point travel another hour each way, just to eat these delicious crêpe creations. I salivate at the memory!

One of my regular brunch places in Brooklyn for the last three years. Most every crêpe is delicious but the best are La Normande and the Poulet Citron plus the Buerre Sucre for dessert. You MUST have their hot chocolate, it’s really the best. The staff is unbelievably welcoming and warm. Finally, the ambiance is so unique, a bit of SoFra(south of France) in BK. Check it out for dinner too for delicious pasta(the duck pasta is so delicious). All in all, a great spot.

In a word — magnifique! My friend and I absolutely enjoyed outperform brunch here. The wait can be long so get there early and make sure your entire party is there with you. But once you are seated inside the ever so cute and quaint dining room, the service is warm, friendly, and fast! The food is divine. My friend had their walnut penne pasta and it was so rich, creamy and well-flavored that we kept trying to force ourselves to finish the entire plate. We did not succeed because we also ordered Le Parisienne crêpe — simply outstanding. With mimosas and freshly steeped French press coffee, this is a place that we will return to for brunch for many weekends to come!

Outstanding Galettes, Good Crepes(Bonus: You don’t even realize you are in Williamsburg). So this place is REALLY good. The servers are clearly all French(the accents give it away), definitely cool4skool and the ambiance is French country kitsch without actually being kitschy(You just have to see it to understand. There are postcards and knick knacks everywhere, but it’s actually charming). My experience falls into the category of «Best Restaurant Mistake». We ordered some Galettes based on Unilocal reviews(savory crepes are made with buckwheat flour and are known as galettes… crepes with white flour are used for the dessert crepes). But THANKFULLY, we were served an incorrect order. A few bites in, our server came back, apologized and gave us what we actually ordered. However, we were able to keep one of the mistake crepes(score). So, why was I so happy with the error? Because Unilocalers keep raving about«La Bergere» and that turned out to be my least favorite vegetarian crêpe… Hear me out… It could be *really* good. It’s unique and has figs, honey, caramelized onions, but then you get strangled with an onslaught of goat cheese. Who needs so much goat cheese? It was as if they took one of those small goat cheese packages you buy at Trader Joes and stuffed the *whole* thing inside and drowned the other flavors. They need to cut the cheese ratio in ½. The mistake crêpe was«La Popeye», which turned out to be my favorite. That was DELICIOUS because it had the perfect ratios. They do not skimp on the spinach, I would say spinach is the predominant ingredient… the cream/swiss blend really nicely and then there is an egg on top with a loose yolk. That was the best vegetarian crêpe IMO. Luscious, hearty, a little naughty, but still light. Spouse ordered«L Orientale» and I had a bite without the merguez sausage. It was a winner(his favorite). You can immediately taste the Moroccan influence that is ubiquitous in French cuisine. A mélange of peppers, tomatoes, spice… and it is also topped with an egg with a loose yolk. We then decided to order a white flour sweet crêpe(but did not follow the recommendations of our server, which was dumb). We ordered La Buerre Sucre Citron w/fresh strawberries — since it was presumably light. It was fine, reminded me of the french version of Ghee Succar Roti(Burra Succar Roti) — but not nearly as good. Plus, the whipped cream was not homemade… it was from the can. I am not going to write-off their sweet crepes yet, but the quality/density was not the best that I have had. **My advice, go for the savory galette crepes… Tres Bien** On our way out, my mother-in-law yelled BYE and waved profusely. Nobody responded, spouse and I looked at each other with BIG eyes, and a bunch of diners just stared in confusion. She stated, «It’s not polite to leave someplace without saying ‘Bye’. I felt like I was in somebody’s house.» But we were NOT in a house, we were in NYC, of course, actually Williamsburg to be exact. Somehow they manage to pull of the relaxed, French country vibe, despite the fact that the staff was hustling to get Sunday brunch out in a NY Minute.

Great little French spot that I finally got to try. Was here for breakfast/lunch and they serve a few omelets, pastas, and many crepes. I got the La Bergere crêpe $ 10.50(goat cheese, swiss, fig, honey, caramelized onions, rosemary) and added some chicken to get my protein. This was a very tasty dish and all of the ingredients complimented each other well. Looking forward to coming back for dinner. Service was nice and friendly. CASHONLY

«J’ai découvert le vrai bonheur le jour vous avez marché dans ma vie» I discovered true happiness the day you walked into my life … Every time I visit Pates et Traditions I am taken away. Away from the smelly streets… Away from the«F*CKYOU» attitudes… Away from the beeping car horns & noisy Yakkity Yakers Away from New York City itself who I have such a love & hate relationship with… From the moment you enter this cozy & warm café you feel at ease. The sweet smile & smooth french voice of the waitress always gets me right away. The food is phenomenal & ridiculously affordable! I have came here for a quiet morning brunch outside under the cute red umbrella with girlfriends. I have swung by for a peaceful charming lunch with my mother. I have strolled in on a quiet romantic winter night with my fiancé. All 3 occasions were hands down. perfection. Try their mouth watering crepes(savory or sweet), home made pasta’s or nightly seductive dinner specials. You will not regret it!
