Pronto Ikea Assembly & Delivery

These guys were so friendly and accommodating and for a great price too! They laid everything out and got the job done in a quick and professional manner. I used the delivery service so I didn’t even have to leave my apartment! It is cash only so be prepared for that!

THANK GOD FOR PRONTO! We just moved into a new place in Brooklyn and I don’t have a closet. I purchased a closet that attaches to the wall from IKEA (the Algot system), and quickly realized there was no way in hell I’d be able to install it myself. I called Pronto at 11:30am on a SUNDAY, and no joke — the whole job was done by 2pm. Such lifesavers, I’ll definitely be giving them a call again if I ever need help with furniture installation!

So impressed with these guys. I can’t believe I ever tried to put ikea furniture together on my own. On Wednesday I inquired about having a pax delivered and installed. The response time was great and by thursday at 5pm everything was delivered and installed. I didn’t have to lift a finger except to be home for them to arrive. I never imagined ikea could look so good in an apartment, given my experience putting it together myself. Ron and Waldon (I think I got the names right) were complete professionals. They gave me regular updates throughout the morning regarding the pick up and then the delivery. They worked very clean and were really nice. Absolutely great service.

We had a very small window of time to set up an apartment. I called Pronto at 9am on Halloween to assemble our IKEA furniture. Mamba showed up an hour and a half later, right on time! He was wonderful, polite, speedy and knew what he was doing. If we had put together the furniture it would have taken days and drawers and doors would not have closed. Mamba put everything together quickly and professionally, with all parts working properly. I would use Pronto and Mamba again! Thanks for making the move to NYC a breeze.

Pronto’s service was really helpful. I travel a lot for work and hardly had spare time to assemble and put up the entire furniture set from Ikea. Ron & Mamba were courteous, efficient and prompt. A very cost effective solution from my perspective.

Are they good? I DUNNO!
I had to hire another company because they left me waiting two days with no response to phone calls or emails and I had an unforgiving schedule.
I find nothing more frustrating than lousy communication. I had already agreed to a quote, but after 2 days of leaving voicemails and non-​responsive email inquiries, I had to hire a different company. Pronto finally emailed me on day 3, snapping their fingers, requesting that I fill out Ikea credit card authorization forms to be returned ASAP. They quoted me $ 373 bucks.
The bright side is that during that time, I found Perfect Assembly, who responded within 2 hours, and were hired and booked before Pronto’s Ikea request form hit my inbox.
Sorry, not sorry. Perfect Assembly was also more affordable and didn’t require me to pay for the merchandise in advance. Perfect Assembly delivered what Pronto could not, and they did it for $ 255.

I called Pronto at 5pm on a Saturday night and they, two very professional men, arrived on Sunday and assisted with my Ikea assembly. Very professional service. Very reasonable.

Emailed them twice, no response.

This company saved us! We went to Ikea on a Monday and bought our furniture. We paid for delivery and assembly for a Wednesday. The furniture came late (after our window of 3−9pm).
We assumed Thursday they would come to assemble. Wrong! they told us not until Sunday again 3 – 9 window! I called Pronto because I was leaving town and did not want my daughter stuck without furniture assembled. They were so kind. I called on Thursday and sent them my information. They emailed me quickly with a price and a time. They were able to do it the next day and there was no window. They told me 8:30 am and they showed up on time. We had Mamba and he was very professional and assembled the pieces as well as helped carry down all the cardboard. Please save yourself the headache from Ikea and use Pronto. If I had known I would have had them deliver for me also, but I did not know about this service as I was out of town and moving my daughter to an apartment in New York. Everything is done through email not phone calls but don’t be alarmed by that as they are efficient and will get back to you. Highly recommend.

I will never be using Pronto again, mostly for their customer service, or lack there of. I’ve been trying to hire them for over 2 weeks, with them responding to only 1 in 5 emails. When they do respond, they’re rude and unhelpful. The guy on the phone is super rude as well. There’s hidden fees, and really couldn’t care less about how they treat their clients.
We used them with their flat shipping fee of $ 149 to bring us and build 2 cabinets and a set a drawers. Cabinets are an extra $ 35 per assembly, and the drawers are $ 60. Not to mention walk-​up fees that they don’t mention until last minute (it’s their job to ask if you have an elevator and to tell you they’ll charge you if not!). The guy shows up to our place with only the drawers, and didn’t bother to tell us the cabinets were out of stock at Ikea (even though they were when we checked the day before). So now, surprise, we’re playing $ 149 for the delivery of one item instead of 3. which is NOT worth it and well have to use someone else with ANOTHER $ 149 fee. Thats $ 150 thrown away because of how pronto treats their clients. They had no problem calling me from the Ikea register about credit card information but for some reason they couldn’t mention they were going to only do 1 third of their job correctly???
I’m so sick and tired of dealing with them (ive dealt with them in the past) that I will NEVER be using them again, nor recommending them to anyone. They are AWFUL. save yourself a headache and literally hire anyone else, seriously.

8.2.2015 — Update of my prior email: in addition to the poor service and very bad attitude experienced below, it is pretty obvious that they don’t know how to assemble Elfa products.
I should have hired the elfa assembly team, they would have done a much better job for a slightly higher price in a tenth of the time!

If you have time to waste… go ahead and hire them. Eventually, they might get it right. I was a fan, not any more, I have really seen the service degraded. I hired them 3 years ago and the guys were great. I hired them again, and these guys:
— didn’t show up when was agreed (and planned in advance, in view of a move… so time was of the essence);
— finally showed up, but damaged my brand new floor;
— lost some parts and blamed me for that (really? didn’t I tell you that everything HAD to be finished prior to the move?)
— told me that «they would tear the whole thing apart» if I asked for my money back
— not even ONCE apologized for the major delay and damage caused
I am now left with a damaged floor, and an unfinished armoire. They did get other things right… and they offered to come back WHEN I find the parts that THEY have left who knows where.
If you are in a rush and want a job well done by a professional, please hire someone else. If you want to hire them… maybe avoid paying them in advance (I know, pretty stupid of me…), which might keep their arrogance down and hopefully their service higher. But don’t ever expect customer service, as they don’t even know what the word means.

Pronto does a fantastic job. I’ve used their services twice now, and both experiences were outstanding.
When I moved into my new apartment, my fully assembled Brimnes bed wouldn’t fit up my narrow stairwell. Pronto came out within two hours of my calling, disassembled my bed for me in the middle of the sidewalk, helped my dad carry the pieces up to the apartment, and then quickly and efficiently put it back together. They even took a drawer from the bed that had broken in the moving van ride and fixed it for me free of charge.
I was so impressed with this experience, that I next hired Pronto for full concierge service for the rest of the Ikea furniture I needed purchased. For a very fair price, they shopped for my furniture for me, delivered it to my home, assembled everything, and even helped me break down the boxes. Even better, they very kindly agreed to help me move my dresser from the living room into my bedroom for no charge.
I have zero complaints with Pronto. They have fast, friendly service, and they are very good at what they do.

DO NOT HIRE THEM!
I didn’t really mind the fact that the guy was rude, or that he came in almost an hour later than agreed. But the fact that he got in my apartment and all of a sudden CHARGED 50 DOLLARS MORE than agreed, just because he didn’t read the email I sent with what had to be assembled, WAS RIDICULOUS!
THE GUY IS A THIEF!
I REPEAT! HIRE ANYONE ELSE BUT THIS COMPANY!

I suspect that a few people find Pronto like I did: We bought a bunch of BESTA storage things and designed a big space and then realized we aren’t that good at being handy.
That’s what happened to me.
Friendly guys and now I have a crazy BESTA storage unit that works. Yay!

I ordered the pax wardrobe thinking I could assemble it myself. I assembled the wardrobe but I needed help with the mirror doors. My sister and I tried to put it on but it was just too heavy. Called them and they showed up an 1hr later. They did a great job. Mounted the wardrobe against the wall so that it doesn’t fall over since the doors are heavy. I just wanted them to get the doors on the wardrobe but the older gentleman made sure the wardrobe was leveled and everything was perfect. I am very happy with the work they did and how quickly they came and assembled the doors.

These guys are great, friendly, and got someone out here within 2 hours of my getting in touch. The quoted prices were up-​front, and considering the amount of work, totally worth it.
They had to do a disassemble and rebuild (which not all businesses will do) and fixed my leaning tower of Paxness into a solid wardrobe of fastness. I would recommend them to anyone who needs help with IKEA furnishings.
And hey, they even fixed something extra because they saw it was in need of repair, and it was a 5 minute job. Thanks, guys!

Working with Pronto was great. They helped me in a bind when another company stood me up at Ikea. They picked up, delivered, and assembled all the furniture I got. They even came back a second day because one item I wanted was out of stock and they had to make two trips.
I also appreciate that they charge the assembly by piece as opposed to by man hours. Mamba was my point person on the pickup, delivery and assembly and he was very professional, nice, and polite. Was easy to get a hold of and was very responsive.
Definitely recommend this service to others!

These people are very professional, fast and accommodate you to the time you need. They are transparent about the price. The guy who came (Dwayne) is awesome. Very efficient, face and pleasant actually to have a conversation with! He came prepared and left no mess behind him.

Mamba and James recently came to my new apartment in Cliffside Park, NJ to assemble two separate Besta units in an original configuration that was Inspired by a promotional Ikea image for my office space. They arrived ahead of schedule, despite commuting to my small town from Brooklyn and helped carry some of the larger unit pieces up to my second floor apartment that I could not manage to haul up the stairs last night.
These two are professional and personable, which truly made mines a great experience. I picked up two incorrect pieces for the exact configuration displayed in the Ikea promotion, but they still helped me achieve better than my target vision for the space.
While putting together the shelving units for the base and the wall, they conversed with me; however stayed true to the task at hand to ensure quality while I got work and research done in the living room.
The wall looks fantastic and I will post a picture of it shortly for your consideration if any of you are considering them for your Besta installation as well.
What scored the most cool points with me was their adaptability. I originally contracted them to pick up my Ikea things; however advised them in advance that I will pick up the needed items myself due to budgeting and they understood plus adjusted accordingly immediately.
With all said, I’d highly recommend these two and intend to leverage their service for my TV mount.

I’ve used Pronto twice in the last 8 months and have been very satisfied with their service.
They respond promptly, show up on time, and assemble everything extremely well (and probably in a fraction of the time it would take you to assemble yourself).
James is a super friendly guy and I would recommend him and his service to anyone looking at furnishing their apartment with IKEA.
Several of my friends have used him and say the same.
