Not sure if it’s the perfectly chilled(and reasonably priced) rosé talking, but the service is incredible, and the short rib panini is life changing. Thanks Katie and thanks Provini for a lovely lunch.

Well, if you’re ever staying in Park Slope and after a long hot NYC day the idea of catching the F or the G or whatever, to get back into Manhattan, has you feeling a little tired, stay in the ‘hood and treat yourself to Provini. Food was great, atmosphere lively and on that note — I am perfectly fine in noisy restaurants. We came in and the place was nearly empty, but by the time we left it was full of happy, loud conversation, all good and great. The bummer and most annoying aspect about this place was that they were not bussing the tables back to the kitchen, but rather just there, to a bussing station behind the bar and maybe they thought it was so loud already they could just throw everything in the bus tub, but NO — they were really loud about it – if I was a pissed off employee and this was my last day, I might be slamming plates and silverware without any regard, but I think it was one of the owners doing this, slam! bam! crash! then at one point someone just took an entire bus tub and dropped it to the floor, which brought most of the restaurant to a screeching halt in whatever they were joyously getting on about, to look back in annoyed silence, huh? Great food, lovely portions, enjoyed seeing everyone else’s dishes go by, thinking, I gotta come back here and I will — I just hope that the staff isn’t as noisy next time.

Went to provini for my birthday dinner. We started with the antipasto which was delicious and a big portion(enough for 4 people). If you go here i would definitely recommend it. I was craving good pasta. All their pastas are housemade. I ordered the bolognese. It was decent but I have had better hence the 3 stars. The noodles were very good and obviously freshly made. too bad the sauce was lacking. My friend had the braised short rib. It was dry and overcooked. We had tiramisu and the apple tart for dessert. The tart was not so good. rather than being a nice balance of sweet and sour it was just plain old sour. Tiramisu was fine. I had a glass of the pinot. not so good tasted like cheap wine. We also got one of the prosecco and raspberry drinks. Pretty good. the restaurant has a simple/elegant décor with a beautiful mahogany bar. The staff are all very nice so i’d give it 5 stars for service.

I normally use Unilocal to decide on whether or not I should try out a restaurant. Provini had mixed reviews on Unilocal, but its so charming that we didn’t let a few negative reviews hold us back. I am so glad that we tried Provini out! It was one of the first warm evenings this spring so the restaurant was hopping inside and outside. The waiter and the hostess/manager were both wonderful and accommodating. We got a seat outside within 10 minutes. Even though it was clearly a busy night, our waiter was so hospitable and attentive. My husband and I both got pasta and it was an excellent portion size. The pasta was tasty and the sauce wasn’t over powering. It was a great pairing of flavors. I got the pesto and was initially nervous because my last pesto dish at another restaurant nearby was dry and lacked flavor. I was delighted to have the opposite reaction to this dish! Overall the restaurant has good service, great food and a lovely ambiance especially on a nice night.

I’m surprised this place only has 3.5 stars! This is one of my favorite italian restaurants & in my favorite part of Brooklyn — park slope. I’m only giving it 4⁄5 stars because i only give 5 stars when I’m blown away lol. But this is such a cute lovely restaurant, i love how intimate it is & very cozy. All the waitresses are italian & have that italian accent, I always feel like I’m in Italy lol. Love their food, but i wish they didn’t take away their amazing octopus dish! If you come here, try their pasta & tiramisu dessert!

This was top rated on another app but meh on Unilocal.Didn’t know who to believe. Took a chance and wow. Fantastic! Perfectly al dente, superb service(late lunch so not busy), bolognese was as good as any I’ve had(and I’ve eaten at the best rate), food quality was superb all around!

Really cute Italian wine bar close to prospect park. Came here with my husband to escape from the cold today. So glad we did! The food was wonderful and reasonably priced and the service was great, our server was so friendly and personable! I think her name was Kate?! I would totally recommend coming here if you’re in the area.

I’ve been to Provini a few times with my boyfriend. Now I have eaten a lot of Barilla pasta in my lifetime, so imagine my delight when I tried the pasta with pomodoro sauce. OMG, I was in heaven!!! We split the flourless chocolate soufflé with raspberry sauce and that was equally delicious. Keep up the excellent work, Provini!

Provini has it all: cozy atmosphere, charming waitstaff and excellent food that won’t cost half your savings account. You also won’t wait two hours for a table(they take reservations. woo hoo!), which, in Park Slope, is like finding a unicorn. Although Provini serves Italian cuisine, don’t come looking for«red sauce Italian.» Come instead for the melt-in-your-mouth housemade pastas(recommended: pappardelle with lamb ragu = OMG), the simple-but-scrumptious preparations of seafood(grilled baby octopus = mmmmmmmmmm), meats and vegetables, as well as the Italian desserts(passion fruit and coconut semifreddos = out of this f’ing world). With 2 appetizers, 2 pastas and 2 desserts, plus a bottle of awesome Sangiovese, dinner for two came to ~$ 120, which is steal as far as I’m concerned.

Do not understand rating of this restaurant — should be 5 stars. This place is the best one could ever expect in the quiet streets of Park Slope. It’s like to come back to my beloved Italy, to chat with wonderful hostess of the place, to deep that bread in the olive oil, to drink that wine in the flickering light of the candle. And than, there is the food!!! Just don’t change, Provini. Please. Alexander Ilinsky & Paulina Green.

Provini is wonderful! A cozy, friendly atmosphere, charming waitress, and really good food and wine. I had the Sicilian salad, pappardelle, and coconut semifreddo — all excellent.

Stopped in here on a Monday night for dinner, and was really pleasantly surprised both by the attentive service and authentic pasta dishes. Great prices for the neighborhood too. Will definitely be back.

This is some of the best Italian food I’ve had in recent memory, though it comes at a price: primi and secondi plates are around the $ 20 mark. I love this place especially for the gnudi! After several failed attempts at cooking gnudi at home, I sought out restaurants that serve this simple gnocchi variation. Provini didn’t disappoint: the gnudi were delicious! I’m not sure if they’re worth the $ 16, though. The service was good and the place is very pretty. You will be crammed pretty close to your neighbors. On food quality alone, I’d rate this five stars, but the price and the cramped quarters prevent me from coming back very often. I’d like to try their brunch sometime.

Love Provini! Hand made pasta with broccoli rabe pesto was divine and paninis were delicious. Had the cheesecake for dessert but the chocolate crust wasn’t a good combination. I definitely love the food. Service was very slow.

Hey Provini, I love your food and service, which is always great but I wanted to make a note about your practice of not allowing wifi or computers in the evenings. I get that you don’t want to have people working on their computers and only buying one drink and spending hours on a table or a bar seat that could have been used on higher paying customers, but surely there’s a better way to approach the problem? I just came in tonight hoping to order a steak and a couple of drinks and spend a an hour or two working on my computer. The restaurant was ¾ empty and I made sure I was going to sit at the bar, not at a table. Further, my friend was going to join me after an hour as she was running late from work. So I figure, that by saying not wifi tonight you lost at least a $ 100 bill + 20% tip accounting for me and my friend, who both happened to feel like a steak(or at the very least were both extremely hungry), and who both love a good chat and a few glasses of wine. Perhaps, consider a minimum tab for those who want to work + eat after 5pm? I would have happily obliged with that. I’m now happily sitting at a restaurant just a block away who have wifi. And steak!

I eat here regularly and love it! The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious. This is the spot I always take out-of-town visitors. The atmosphere is great. They managed to make themselves look like an authentic old-time Italian corner restaurant. I’ve tried the brunches, lunches and dinners, which were all really good. I especially love the gnocchi and the frittata with asparagus.

This place is wonderful. Really friendly people Denis having a drink at the bar has recommended a glass of rose. Appetizers are the lasagna and antipasto plate of prosciutto, cheese and olives. We have ordered the tuna steak and pollo Di Milanese. Both dishes surpass our expectations. We’ve switched to red wine, a bottle of Montepullciano, really excellent for the price. We are just eating like we re going to the electric chair. Cecilia our waitress is attending to like we were royalty. What a wonderful experience!!!

Been wanting to come for brunch, but stopped in for dinner. Started with calamari special came with fried artichoke and marinara — classically delish. Provini salad had well dressed arugula topped with a whole sliced pear and Gorgonzola cheese — yummy! Fiancé had the special Bronzino with tomatoes capers olives and mashed potatoes. I had the squid ink pasta with shrimp topped with(too many) artichokes. I was expecting more ocean flavor but it was tasty. Panna cotta was delicious! Would try for brunch!

I usually go here for lunch when I work from home. It’s perfect for a quick sit down lunch. The panini sandwiches are my favorite. But the chicken salad is a close second. The waitress that works there during the lunch hours is very friendly and on top of it. Dinner is great too. Try to grab the booth in the front. Best lighting and biggest table.
