Punta Cana Coffee Shop & Restaurant

Ordered delivery on grubhub.
The struggle was real until I discovered this place where I can get my tre golpes fix in the morning before the day begins. Great value for the price at this place. Their iced coffee is amongst the best I’ve I had in bed stuy.
Delivery time was punctual, food was great eating temp, and packed well with everything that I ordered.

After 2 hours of waiting I finally got my food. I ordered a burrito, more than half of it was lettuce and when I did get to the meat part it had no salt whatsoever. The hole thing was tasteless and umm yeah, it took 2 hours to get it. Do not recommend this place.

I placed an order for delivery at 7:30pm, received a call an hour later stating that the food was returned to the restaurant as the delivery man had the incorrect address. I then provided the correct address and waiting about 30 minutes. Called back when my food still hadn’t arrived and was told that once again, the delivery guy returned to the restaurant as «the bag broke». Whoever answered the phone apologized profusely but couldn’t provide a resolution and 2 hours later, still didn’t have my food nor any idea on when I would receive it. Needless to say, I told them to keep the food and hung up. It’s a shame because I actually think they have decent food however the customer service was horrible.

I enjoy getting quick and cheap mexican food here.

Real Dominican food. Delicious Mangu for breakfast!!! Fast and friendly service. What more can you ask for.

once a week treat to have my dominican breakfast delivered to me at work. Best next thing to my moms own Mangu, a traditonal dominican breakfast. delivery is a bit slow but prices are reasonable.

There’s way better breakfast spots around here, don’t waste your time. Yes this is cheaper but it shows. Almost an hour and a half for 2 eggs, bacon, omelet, sausage and orange juice. Really? Everything was cold, undercooked and just horrible really

This is probably the most clutch breakfast spot that I’ve eaten at in the neighborhood. The eggs, hash browns, and bacon combo that i buy from here regularly is inexpensive and filling. I ordered some for my General Manager one day, and a week later i received a promotion and raise lol. Delivery comes reasonably quick too.

Everything was delicious, except my bacon egg and cheese, which came on a super stale bagel. Kinda ruined the whole meal.

I eat breakfast here about five times a week! I love this place and the service is top notch!

This is the worst spanish food I have ever had. I decided to try this restaurant over the one I usually order from, which is Castillo Restaurant which is great. Well its the biggest mistake I made. The food was awful, as a Latina trust me I’ve tasted and have eaten plenty of good spanish food but this was really bad. The pork shoulder (pernil) was tasteless and dry. The rice was also flavorless. In addition to this, they sent me the wrong sandwich and when I called to tell them the woman on the phone informed me I would be charged an extra 1.50. I decided the steak sandwich which I originally ordered would probably taste just as bad as the other food I had received and took the loss on the sandwich Save your money and maybe try my El Castillo on Bedford Ave who’s food is always fresh and consistently good. Oh, they also took forever to deliver this food.

From reading the other reviews, I know to never order delivery from here, but take out is great. For the price, the food is surprisingly good. There are a few places in the area that serve Dominican food and they are not half as good. I like the stewed chicken and the Italian sausages. Also, they have a wide variety of breakfast items.

I’m guessing if you go into the place, it might be better, but DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY!
1. It took 1 hour and 37 minutes for my food to be delivered. The estimated delivery time on Seamless is 30 – 45 minutes.
2. I called after 1 hour. The woman told me I was wrong and that it usually takes 1 ½ hours. She then said «sorry» and hung up the phone immediately after. Perhaps Punta Cana should update their Seamless information.
3. I ordered:
Huevos con Chorizo — ehh. Decent, nothing special. Luke warm by the time it arrived. –Guac & Chips — Guac was fine. If you like having more onion and huge chunks of tomato than you do avocado, then this wannabe guacamole is for you. Chips were inedible. They were tough and moist, probably due to being inside a paper bag with hot food for 1 ½ hours. My dog was confused about the chips when one of them fell to the floor and hesitantly ate it.
–Fried Yellow Plantains — fine but lukewarm.
I would not recommend for any one to take a chance on Punta Cana because of their poor service, falsely advertised estimated delivery time, and hardly warm, mediocre food.

Like Kelly S., I don’t get the bad reviews for this place at all. I’m a new resident to Brooklyn from the UWS and Punta Cana was the first place I discovered here and it has never done me wrong. The iced coffee is delicious — especially if Elvis is there behind the counter — and cheap! This is the ONLY place in the ‘hood I get my iced coffee fix on — and it is 2−3X cheaper than Dough or the Brooklyn Kolache Co nearby.
As a breakfast food fan, this has definitely become my go-​to breakfast place in the hood. The Breakfast Combo #2 is an amazing deal with many delicious items and the breakfast sandwiches I could eat every day. Of course, if you’re wanting a healthy salad or organic food this is not the place for you. The place is called Punta Cana after all. :-)
And, what I like best about Punta Cana is that the people here are incredibly nice (and, I find it charming they call me and my friends ‘Mami’ and ‘Papi’ — hello it’s a neighborhood joint — they’re laid back here)! As for speed of delivery — it has always been fast no matter what time of day I order. To note though, I always call in my order versus using GrubHub or other online services.

I placed my order online using Grubhub. I specifically said «nothing spicy, please and thank you.» About 10 minutes later some very rude, old woman calls me, screaming into the phone saying «you said you wanted nothing spicy? But the burrito is spicy» I said «okay did you already start making it? Because I cannot eat spicy food.» She said «no mami that is why I am calling you. All mexican food is spicy» first off do not call me «mami» and secondly, not all mexican food is spicy you uneducated bitch. So I said «K cancel my order.» As soon as I said that she changes her tune all of a sudden saying «oh but we can make it without being spicy»
OK so wtf why didn’t you just do that from the jump? Are you literally that slow? I told her «so yes why don’t you do that» obviously hungry and frustrated at this point by her stupidity. She then says, «but you don’t have to scream mami»
OK but weren’t YOU screaming since the minute I got on the phone? I then just said to cancel that order and hung up.
You should probably have someone a little more educated working there. There’s no reason to call and tell me its spicy and whenI decide to cancel my order it magically became the way I wanted.
You are a fool whoever you are. I wish I could give you negative stars. Never ever ever again.
AVOID THIS PLACE!

HORRIBLE DELIVERY SERVICE! I placed my order online and asked for fried eggs and instead I received poached eggs and had yolk pouring all over my potatoes. I called to tell them this and they told me that they would send my correct order. 2 hours later still nothing and all they had to offer was store credit, as if I’ll EVER be ordering from them again

The Oatmeal is really good! One of the best! I ordered it over 10 times now. Really nice delivery man even though the only English word he knows is «delivery!» He is all smiles!

I have ordered from this place now several times for lunch delivery. I don’t get the bad reviews. The food is cheap and very good. It has never been delivered late an usual shows up about 10 minutes early. There are some things they don’t do well (like never ever try and be healthy and order the vegetable side versus their plantains or beans and rice options, because all you’ll get is some slimy cabbage) BUT that said, their entrees have always been hot, authentic and good. I also highly recommend ordering their iced coffees for delivery, they are like crack for your tastebuds. Items i’ve ordered that are particularly good:
½ roasted chicken
ox-​tail soup — only on mon, weds and fri
their fried plantains are delicious, I always prefer them over the mashed green one’s.
Don’t expect a freakin’ 5 star meal, since for three people you can eat for under $ 25 and you’ll end up a happy camper.

I have NEVER had a more awful experience with delivery.
I placed an order and two hours later called to see where it was.
The guy on the phone lied repeatedly to me. When I called back one final time AFTER WAITING THREE HOURS, the guy told me he had cancelled my order after our previous phone conversation and that the food was in the trash.
I asked for a manager, he said there was none. I asked when one would be in, he said he didn’t know. I asked for his name, he covered the phone and said to his friend (in Spanish) «give me a name», and then told me his name was Elvis. Are you kidding me?
This place is THE WORST and not only will I never order from here again, I will tell everyone I know in the neighborhood about my experience.

The food wasn’t bad … and to the people below «Aria» … umm … if it was 10 minutes away, perhaps you could’ve gotten off of your lazy fat ass and gone there yourself?
p. s. you didn’t even rate the food, and have no business rating the service as you were rating the delivery … perhaps you should at least take the time to say how the food was.
