Sal’s Pizza is still my idea of the best NY pizza. I was a regular there while working in Williamsburg and for good reason. All their specialty slices are delicious; I go for its Eggplant Parm slice with an order of amazing garlic knots. The staff is always friendly especially Romeo, and will find something good for your taste. I miss not being close by anymore but do visit and usually bring out of town family and friends to eat there. I don’t want any visitors leaving without the real taste of what NY pizza should be.

Ordered a cheese pie. The crust was really doughy, with flour still on the bottom. And there wasn’t nearly enough sauce to moisten it up.

Ordered a whole cheese pie a few times from this place. Why did I not learn my lesson the first time? Terrible pizza with hard, thick, cardboard crust both times. The good reviews totally fooled me and made me forget my previous experience. This place makes AWFUL pizza. DONOTORDERPIZZAFROMTHISPLACE. This review is to also remind myself to not eat here, one bite into a slice will make you lose your appetite.

Conveniently located between the Lorimer L station and my apartment, I find myself frequenting Sal’s. Probably more than I should. The slices here are good, the garlic knots are just okay, but the staff is amazing! Everyone here is always so friendly and welcoming. My favorite slices are the grandma slice and the ol’ faithful plain slice. They have plenty of other creative looking slices but I’m a creature of habit and stick to what I know. This approach seems to be working well for me though, as I’ve never had a bad slice here.

Amazing pizza!!! First time here, made the trip from Queens today just for this slice & I will totally be back! A little greasy but a few napkins took care of that. I am never persuaded to have a second slice of pizza and today I am totally tempted! Crust was delicious, very flaky and tasted like it was definently touched with precision and care. It was almost like a fluffy biscuit! Excellent.

I’m not sure who is eating and reviewing this pizza, my guess is it’s people who are not from NY originally. This is not pizza crust, and this is not flavorful sauce. You can all do incredibly better than this.

Penne creamy pesto grilled chicken for the win every time. a pesto slice, maybe. I’m not so down with the regular pie here. But their deliver is fast and reliable as heck.

We ordered a couple of pizzas for delivery and while they were very prompt, the food was really disappointing. Way too much cheese on my pepperoni pizza which made the entire thing sort of goopy and sad, and the pizza crust was just sort of flavorless. The meatballs were also really disappointing. It was especially frustrating considering how much the pizzas cost, for them to be just substandard.

Here’s the deal: this pizza is just fine. It’s a little pricey. My issue with this place is not the food. It is that every time I walk by, I get catcalled by a worker taking out the trash or hanging out by the kitchen. This has really turned me off from continuing to go to Sal’s. I’m not trying to be a social justice warrior or anything, but I just don’t feel comfortable going into the store when I know that the guy who made my pizza said something disgusting to me on the street. As a neighborhood pizza place, they should know that their most valuable customer base are the people(like me) who live within a blocks radius. I don’t feel valued, so I will take my business elsewhere.

Great experience at Sal’s. Our family stayed at a house close by, so we frequented Sals at least three times the week we were there. Their customer service was great every time! We tried paying multiple times while waiting for our food and the manager kept saying«don’t worry bout it, pay later» and when I pointed to the garlic knots and asked«what is this», he warmed some up and gave us some to try free. I had the Magarita pizza and loved it with the fresh mozzarella and basil! My parents had Heros which were also very good and not to mention the Calzone that were the size of a boomerang. If we ever go back to Williamsburg, I will definitely be making a stop at Sal’s.

Ate my pizza before I could think of taking a picture of it. Amazing! it taste so delicious, I had chicken with tomato. I’ve also had grandmas pie and it’s not too much dough, just the right amount plus the crust is crunchy.

Sals never changed its recipe, its the way NY pizza should taste. The grandma slice is my favorite and the chicken parmigiana is to kill for.

Since I had a craving for pizza — I decided to order delivery from Sal’s. I’m a fairly simple pizza eater… I am happy with just cheese. I got the thin crusted Sicilian style pizza because I saw that people keep recommending it. It was okay. The strange thing about the pizza is that the marinara sauce is just kinda spritzed on top in a diagonal way rather than it being crust-sauce-cheese so it didn’t have very much(some slices more than others). The first slice was good but as the pizza got colder(which was fairly quickly), the cheese got more rubbery and was barely edible and I had to throw it out. It is a big pizza though. I would say that the delivery is very quick and on time, but I would have to look elsewhere for a go-to pizza spot in Williamsburg.

Had to do some work in the area stumbled in Sal’s and had some of the best Sicilian slices I have ever had in my life, The cheese was amazingly tasty the sauce tasted so homemade like my grandmother used to make, the crust was lite flaky and delicious, i also tried the grandma thin crust which was just as delicious all the guys at the counter were really friendly and I couldn’t believe they offered tap beer espec Peroni! place was really clean with pretty cool Italian vintage pictures hanging throughout, I look forward to coming back to sample their specialty slices I. E vodka slice buffalo chicken etc.

August 7 and no more ices? Per it’s Brooks Headley’s favorite, so went with a solid slice from the no-nonsense guys.

Pizza is OK, although they do not have a big selection; just regular, Sicilian and eggplant slices. However, the customer service is horrible! They give you attitude when you only get one slice. It is ridicules! A couple of times I ordered just a slice, and they asked me if I want something to drink. I said no, thank you, and they asked me «are you sure?» Yes, I am positive, I rather buy a drink that I like somewhere else, than get a coke mixed with water from you guys. The owner is a huge gossiper! He has a lot of acquaintances in that area, and he speaks about everyone to everybody. Crazy! His employees are not any better. The Spanish chubby guy and the darker skin guy that take the orders are very disrespectful ***HORRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE***

Old-school, no-nonsense and perfect. This is an example of what pizzerias used to be in New York before the wave of foreign investors’ speculative price-gouging turned working-class Williamsburg into a playground for trust-fund tweens and Wall Street financiers. Simple, delicious and served in a New York minute, a slice from Sal’s Pizzeria provides a little slice of heaven in an otherwise hectic world. On the plus side, it also serves beer on tap and in bottles. Monday through Friday, beer and wine is $ 2 between 2pm and 5pm. You seriously CANNOT beat that!
