Decent park that for the most part is pretty clean. .. aside from the doggie owners that leave their dogs’ «gifts». I think that runners/joggers really will appreciate this part because it is not too crowded(aside from the dogs). Also the outer loop of the park is about 400 meters(¼th of mile). This outer loop has been great for my 0.25, 0.5, and 1.0 mile interval training programs. All in all I do not have much to say about this park, except that I love it for interval training.

The park itself is pretty huge, it is an entire block. With that being said as a park aficionado the layout is poor at best. The actual play space can and should be a lot bigger. Like any other park there is a play area for babies and toddlers and one for older kids but it’s all so outdated. The spaces are separated by the sprinklers(a water spouting seal). What makes the play space seem so small is all the surrounding grass area. The park is 70% grass which is great for Brooklyn but under utilized. Saratoga is also an unofficial dog park, which the city should really just designate a space for dogs fence it in and make it a dog park. The community and my lab would greatly appreciate it. Considering people walk their pooches here all the time and some(a lot!!) forget to pick up their poo(intentionally walk away as if it is ok). Perfect segue to my biggest problem, the cleanliness of the park. I really need the Park Dept to step their game up here. The trash piled up as high as my three year at almost every entrance is not visually appealing or nose friendly. It seems the residents also dump their household trash there as well. There were dirty diapers and tons of empty cans and wrappers all over where the kids play. The city has a great foundation to with Saratoga park it is time to build on it. The community is changing our largest park should reflect it. I want to Love this park!!!

This is a great public space in the neighborhood. Great mixed use of space for jogging, exercise, kids play and dog walking /running. I love all the old trees and the open field. This is a historic park and always had a place in the neighborhood. I hope they soon re-install the Memorial to the Veterans of WWI. The City Parks Dept. does a decent job of upkeep, but there is certainly room for improvement. The neighborhood does seem to take pride in this place. It is also good that they have lighting at night for safety.

I give this place 4 stars because it is the best park in the area with tall old trees and over 3 acres of space. The city constantly maintains it: cleaning it up and and making it better. Great place to jog, run, sit on a bench, take the kids to the park for a little bit, play chess(there are chest tables) or walk the dog on a leash. ASPCA hosts events there for pet health. Be cautious sometimes people let their dogs off their leash to run in the field… Some dogs are cool, but some owners can be irresponsible /too trusting. Cars can go very fast on the surrounding streets, so keep your kids and pups safe!!! PSA: PLEASE clean up after yourself and your pooch! Let’s be neighborly and respectful especially with so many children in the park daily, and keep this park CLEAN… Nobody wants to step in doodoo THANKS.
