Sensitive Nails

I live across the street. Very convenient and always did a great job. I walk in today with my own natural nails with a gel manicure. The younger girl who answers the phone starts my manicure. Besides scraping and not getting off the old manicure completely, she takes a clipper and proceeds to cut the sides of my nails off!!! So my own perfectly shaped nails get the sides hacked off by clippers. It happened so fast that I didn’t realize until my hand was free and it was too late. She said she did it because my nails curved. So paint the curved nail!!! No professional nail tech would jeopardize the strength of a natural nail by clipping off the sides. She had to fix three of them with a side extension. Up until now they did great gels, I won’t take that away… BUT if you have your own natural nail, beware of what they might do. Picture to come. I’m so upset right now… I’ve never complained about a nail salon. Its a hit or miss… But when your own natural nail gets clipped off at the sides when i specifically told them not to file the sides (to keep them strong) and they use a clipper to cut them off instead… Its a problem. I have the receipt to prove that she fixed it for free so she knows she screwed up. But now I have to wait for these fake wrap extensions to grow out… I’m livid. Go anywhere else. Stay away!!!
Update: I’ve chopped off my nails and removed the remaining gel and extensions, going back to my own natural nails, now I have to wait for them to grow. Hopefully they will be a decent length with all the damage gone by the summertime. This place really surprised me. I never expected a nail tech to clip off the sides of natural nails because they curved. The sides are what give nails strength. I’m also a little leery of their hygiene practices. I don’t feel that the tools are really cleaned and disinfected before they use them. Maybe an inspection is in order too.

I love this place. I come here for eyebrows, pedi, mani, tips, everything. The music is upbeat or soft, the polish always lasts, great selection of colors and they people there are so nice and do the best work. The furniture and salon does kind of need a modern look and update but im always happy with the results and their prices are the best.

I’ve been here a few times. They are ok. They are cheaper than the other salon across the street.
You get what you pay for here, do not expect royal treatment or the best work

Came in for silk wraps. This place might be good at other things but their work on me was terrible. Every one of my nails looked as if it belonged on different people’s hands. I kept waiting for things to get better and when he started to polish I had to stop him. I have never asked for a redo or otherwise complained in a nail salon. These were so bad I could not stand to have them for two weeks. Another girl filed them down and did powder to try to fix them. They still look terrible and two days later the nail polish is chipping. On powdered nails. I have never seen polish chip on powder before. Avoid this place.
Two days later the nails are completely falling apart!!!

I’ve been coming here since I moved to nostrand. Some of the woman are sloppy and some are good. Don’t judge this place on different people. Honestly the store itself needs a bit of an update. The bathroom is scary to go into it so I try to avoid it. The woman are neat but some of them are very rude. I usually get a gel manicure my eyebrows done and a pedicure. I trust the woman here. Everyone has different pros and cons to them. Some of them are better at doing eyebrows the others are horrible at doing a manicure. So make sure to try everyone before you pick a favorite or pick your least favorite.

HORRIBLE. I for an infection on my finger when I went for tips. The girl cut me and said because I have dry skin that’s the reason my finger has become so swollen. I went back for refund and a removal and they refused to even acknowledge the fact that they did something wrong. And’s of speaking to the man who I believe is the owner and he said he would give me half the refund but not the whole because they see nothing wrong. I was so upset I threatened to report them to Department of Health. He then gave in and gave me my full refund and I told her I would never come back there again. At the end I still call the Department of Health filed a report. A few months later received a letter stating that only was I correct about their sanity rules they found a whole new bunch of violations. Avoid this place at all cost, pay more because you never know when something like that I could be to losing a finger.
I hope to get to close down very soon everyone there is just a disaster.

Got a gift certificate from my kids and i didnt use it when i went to use it the (owner) said it was expired! How can a giftcard for 30.00 be expired? This should not be allowed by any business. They have your money and your money expires? I will never never never go into this place again they are cocky and crooks!
