UPDATE: It’s apparently arbitrary whether the main barista is enthusiastic and friendly to you or aggressively hostile. Maybe it is my misfortune to have always needlessly drawn her ire and maybe that’s from where my older review came from. But… This is one of the worst Starbucks I’ve been to. Sometimes I think the people are nice enough to counter their inefficiency and the consistently lacking selection, but just as often I am pretty sure they are faking it. Like, the icky mocking sort of faking it. Then I feel awkward and skeevy while I wait way too long for a tea latte. The crowd is weird, the vibe one of annoyed hubbub and really, the only reason people go is because there aren’t a TON of options in DUMBO. If you need coffee on this side of Brooklyn Roasting or you are just TOOBIG a fan of the Starbucks caffeine, casual intellectual theft and product imitation game, then it’ll scratch the itch, but keep those expectations low.

LOUDMUSIC ++ FORGETFULSERVICE : I came in to use Starbucks as a place to get some work done out of the rain. The place was deserted but I had ordered on the app. After waiting 10 minutes I finally had to ask the employees about my order — they hadn’t noticed it come in. But that wasn’t the issue. I’m giving this place 2 stars because the MUSIC was so LOUD I couldn’t have a phone call: my co-worker on the line couldn’t hear a word I said. I asked twice for them to turn it down, but they refused — even though the place had only a handful of other customers, one on the phone and another working with noise cancelling headphones on. I think the employees were enjoying the tunes. So after waiting 10 minutes before reminding them about my order, I finally had to postpone my work and go stand out in the rain for a call. Pretty lame.

There was room to sit but I was on the go… busy morning ahead. I was engrossed in my phone but realized after a while that the line was getting longer behind me and not shorter by much at all up front. After a few minutes it was obvious the little black haired snippy cashier was the issue. She was whiny and pretentious, in a far less glamorous Fran Drescher sort of way. I’m finally at the register and have a banana, a yogurt, and a cheese and fruit plate. These were for two other people and I asked for a bag then ordered my coffee. She asks if I need a bag. Yes please. You want a tall coffee? Light or dark roast? No, I want a Venti, light roast. Is all that food for you or do you need a bag?(Now I’m wondering if she’s, you know, special.) I answer her yet again, assuming she won’t understand. She rings it up and I remind her I need a bag and she gets snippy. She also overcharged me. That one is very special I tell you. Will go to the other Starbucks that’s not too far from this one.

It’s a newly renovated Starburst shop at BUMBO. They have these wireless charging spots installed on the table, where you can place your cell phone over it and start charging. It’s kind of cool.

THISISMYGOTOSTARBUCKS. I’m from Seattle. If it were not for Starbucks Seattle would collectively wither into dust. No seriously. It’s actually true. This Starbucks is so clean and wonderful and they never bother me in an unfriendly way and the staff is so lovely, and I just feel like a little bit like I’m in Seattle. It’s kinda like my «Seattle Embassy», hahahaha! The Coffee is so delicious and SWEET. They even have Coconut milk!

By Far the worst Starbucks ever !!! I come here almost 4 times a week and Every time I go the staff always makes me late for work. They are so incompetent!!! They never get my order correct. The staff is not friendly at all, and the worst part is they do not care about how the customer feels. I honestly think that every single person who works in this Starbucks should be fired. On a good note, once the manager did comped my drink. She’s okay but could be better.

The barista took my order, and literally walked right into the kitchen afterwards. After waiting quietly for 5 minutes at the counter, another barista asked me what I was waiting for. Not cool. Cheers to the second barista for making my two drinks as quickly as she could. The first girl? Adapt!

I don’t care for spending time at this Starbucks. It gets crowded and the seating is not very comfortable. It also has a poor floor design. It is better to just get your drink to go from this location. The staff is professional and courteous, they are the one thing that makes this location good.

Can not believe that they will not allow customers to use the restroom. Barista claims there is s leak. Said the employees must leave the premises to use the rest room at a pizzeria up the street. SORIDICULOUS!

Worst/slowest Starbucks I’ve ever been to. The weekend crew is especially unfriendly, but it seems they are understaffed and overwhelmed.

Starbucks menu only has 1 size of flat white and the barrista looked at me as if I were an alien when I got confused after she asked me what size of flat white I wanted. OK, so it turns out the tall has 2 shots of espresso, grande and venti have 3.(I wonder what’s the difference between grande and venti then, one of them must be off in coffee/milk proportions…) The«organic» soy milk is unpleasantly sweetened. 2 stars for nice and comfy seating and a clean bathroom.
Clean, fast service but not enough seats. Oh, and had to listen to Étienne Daho’s music from the 80’s(part of the worst french music ever… Not to mention that«french» doesn’t obligatory means«good» for god sakes…) But hey, that’s a Starbucks, it’s been what it was intended to be…

One of the slowest Starbucks I’ve been to, which is annoying. They have ample-ish outlets though, so that’s cool. Can’t complain about how my passion tea was made either.

When looking to cross the bridge in a warm muggy night, we decided to get some beverages for the road. The Dumbo area of that time wasnt as happening as it is now. Iced tea hit the spot and we made our way into the night

There’s always a line here — it’s usually for the bathroom, because the location close to the Brooklyn waterfront makes it a prime stop in for tourists. There’s limited seating but a large area to accommodate lines during rush times. The staff has always been nice and it’s always clean. It’s Starbucks.

Okay. So, I am going to stereotype myself as a «coffee snob» with this post, but I can’t help it. Maybe I’m being judgy since I hail from the land of Starbucks, as in blocks from the O.G., but here it goes. My experience in this Starbucks just wouldn’t fly in Seattle. I realize I came in on Thanksgiving, and for that alone, I thank all of the employees for working(hopefully it was by volunteer only). I have worked at a Starbucks on a holiday and it is always bananas. Why people can’t wait one day for coffee is beyond me. And this is why I’m a hypocrite. I went in on such a day. It wasn’t super busy to get a beverage. Most people just seemed to be hanging out and getting in the way.(It was freezing outside and the only thing open in the area). I ordered my beverage(a tall white hot chocolate with soy milk and no whip). There were not many beverages in line in front of me, but it still took a long time for them to hand craft my drink. When she called my name, she called a grande white chocolate something something and mumbled to herself about forgetting the shots. I said it was fine, however, was it soy? No. She snidely asked me if I paid for soy since it wasn’t marked on the cup. I answered yes, I paid my 60 cents for soy and it was important to have that milk, and my drink is only a tall. I still ended up with a grande, but it had the right milk and a lot of attitude. That’s ok. That’s how I like it. Thanks again to the employees for working. I hope you were well compensated. Just so you know, that –ish won’t fly in Seattle…

So I’m literally right around the corner from this Starbucks location, so I frequent it often. Of all the staff members, there are literally only four that are kind and patient and care about making your drink correct and making sure that you leave satisfied. Actually, this morning would have to have been my worst experience at this location — the cashier was extremely rude and dismissive, and would not give me a bag when requested(even though I had multiple items ordered). Basically, this Starbucks is good if you get one of the for baristas that care.
