Came here and just tried the soy iced latte. That latte was SODAMNGOOD! I would for sure come back and probably sit down and try their pastries.

I come here nearly every day I’m in the neighborhood. Excellent coffee(highly recommend the Americano and the cold brew in the summer), friendly and knowledgeable service, and now even more choices for yummy snacks(pasties, bagels, yogurt, oatmeal, and some sandwiches). Must visit!

I don’t get why this place has bad reviews. Admittedly, I live across the street and usually come here on post-call days to study because the hours aren’t compatible with my work schedule otherwise. Every time I come, the coffee is great, the cappuccino is excellent and the croissants are good. The barristas are friendly and the place totally feels like a neighborhood establishment. I love the atmosphere and the ambiance of the place. Granted it’s a bit pricey, but it’s a small business in a low volume area.

I come here once in awhile when I’m at fort Hamilton, there coffee is good but not the best, the prices are high pretty much the same prices as Starbucks. I do enjoy their Mocha Latte, it’s my favorite beverage from there. Also their chocolate chip cookies are my favorite it tastes so good but it’s $ 2.50 for one. The employees are very friendly and the environment of the café with the soft music and lovely painting on the wall. It’s nice to enjoy a good book or do some work on your own on a table. They also provide free internet and outlets next to each table. The place is very nice I love how presentable and vintage-looking it is. I wish they would have flavor to their coffees but don’t provide it.

Good coffee, OK pastries, cash only(and a bit overpriced), annoyed staff. It won’t disappoint you terribly but it won’t blow you away. I only come here because it’s the only coffee shop in the area.

Coffee great. Some staff great. But, honestly, evening staff very disinterested in customer service. Behave like aspiring hipsters, but, the boat is passing them by. Hopefully they will learn to put in 100% effort into your current job while you get ready to change the world. Again coffee great. But make sure you arrive at least 10 minutes before posted closing time — they tend to lock doors early.

Coffee is AWFUL!!! Grinds and oils clearly seen in the cup! Who would want to drink that? Barista also hates her job. No smile, no hello, like why do you even have a job. Avoid this place

The coffee here is pretty good — definitely the best in the neighborhood, though there aren’t too many options to compare it with. What irked me recently though is that I ordered a decaf coffee, which it turns out they don’t have. They suggested I get a decaf Americano, which was fine except it was a dollar more expensive. Other coffee shops I have been to offer decaf Americanos for the price of a decaf coffee if they don’t offer it as an option — but they weren’t into that idea. Ok, so paying an extra dollar isn’t the biggest deal — but then it turns out they are cash only, and I didn’t have quite enough on me. So, no coffee for me today. :)

I don’t usually drink coffee, so I can’t vouch for that, but I really enjoyed my tea and baked goods. I had a chai tea, a cranberry scone, and an orange butter cookie. I enjoyed them all, but next time I hope to order something more savory – scone plus cookie was too much sugar for me all at once.

Stumbled upon this café in need of a refreshment and to also use the restroom. Very clean and spacious café. The lady behind the counter was very polite and sweet. I had a mocha latte to go and almond croissant as well. The latte was very rich and made me warm. The almond croissant was alright, it went well with the latte. Two item’s almost came to 10 dollars, which I thought was way overpriced! The medium café cup was just 12oz and almost over 5 bucks itself!

This place runs out of edibles very early in the day, but the staff is friendly.

Decent coffee, but it’s one of those places that is a bit too heavy handed when it comes to trying to promote a certain atmosphere with their no laptop tables.

They have good coffee and pastries for sure, but they’re over priced. They do not even give napkins or sleeves for your coffee. All they have is brown paper towel that you have to cut from the dispenser.

Steeplechase has a nice atmosphere and is one of very few options in southern Windsor Terrace/northern Kensington. It is cash only, which is annoying but(somehow, still) extremely common. It is a little bit pricy. Most of the drinks and snacks are good. But you can’t really get good iced coffee here. They have an iced americano($ 3.50, with apparently one shot in it) that is ok but could really stand to include more coffee or at least less water. Their cold brew($ 3.75) is reliably terrible. The problem, again, is its strength – so watery as to barely taste like coffee. I will keep going to Steeplechase because I don’t have much of a choice. But I really wish they could make a decent coffee for the warm part of the year.

Nice, neighborhood coffee shop in Fort Hamilton. Coffee was nice and potent. I had the cold brew and it hit the spot. Looks like a fun and low-key place to hang out, too.

I’ve been living In this neighborhood 18 years now so I’ve seen it change quite a bit. It was a shock when a coffee shop around here was charging Williamsburg prices for a cup of coffee. The coffee Is good but for me I would rather go else where and save a bit. Plus they are cash only which kind of sucks.

I am not from this neighborhood but my daughter had a basketball game across the street, and being we were a wee bit early we decided to pop in for a pregame bite. we ordered a sundried tomato basil, mozzerella sandwich on some delicious bread drizzled with balsamic and oil. It was delicious and the cuppa tea, even better. Staff was friendly .The place was really cozy. It had internet use and looked like a cool, quaint place to meet up with friends. If I was in nearby I would be there as a regular.

Delicious pour over made from Ethiopian beans=really delicious notes of berries and all that good stuff. I’ve also had a cappuccino that was a real cappuccino and not a milky mess. Their mini sandwiches from what I’ve tried are good and the cranberry scone I tried was good as well.

Meh. Windsor Terrace isn’t the greatest neighborhood for food and drinks much like other hipster counterparts, so it was refreshing when I discovered Steeplechase a 5 minute walk from my home. I went in and was super excited after seeing the décor. I ordered a cold brew to go– yuck. The coffee was super watered down and tasted like coffee flavored water. Do yourselves a favor and walk a few feet down to the Bodega on the corner. You’ll get a much better cup of Joe, and for a third of the price.
