i bought my glasses about a month ago, the paint on the frame is already peeling, and one leg is loose. i went to the store 7 days ago and was told to talk to the manager who is not there at the moment, i want also told that«sometimes we buy frames for the name brand, not for the quality» uh excuse me? i paid good money for a pair of glasses that are not good quality? this is the worst experience ever… i feel completely at a loss. never again. ever.

The customer service here was sooo amazing… the girls behind the counter were down to earth and friendly(very unusual in Brooklyn). I couldn’t find the specific glasses that I wanted to they went out of their way and searched for them and ordered them online for me… Also, the young man behind the counter was so sweet and friendly he also helped me look for my style eyeglasses that I preferred and complimented me along the way. The doctors were very helpful and informative. I am very pleased with my service I received. :)

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Originally on the first of October, I thought I was having the best service at Kings Plaza comparing it to one of many other eye glasses stores that I failed to notice(due to the fact that they were located in the corners). The lady that provided the service for my bf and I was excellent and the doctor who examined our eyes was very professional. HOWEVER, things all went downhill as soon as we paid. We realized that their glasses were overprice and they try to rip you off with used products. Outside of their store, it saids that they are grand opening and there’s a 50% off on all glasses. Not until I saw her calculating the amount that I needed to pay that I started to realize that they were ripping me off. I have insurance and it gives me a discount. So they just used my insurance and didnt use the 50% discount(I wouldnt have known if I didnt pay attention). I asked why and she saids the manager told her that if I use my insurance then they will order a brand new glasses for me but if I want the 50% off then I would have to take the display one. Also I cannot combine the insurance with their discount. My decision was to take the display one because overall its cheaper with the 50% discount than having to use my insurance. Things were still not that bad yet… When I went to pick up my Tiffany glasses, they gave me a huge Tiffany box. I asked them why is the box so big in comparison to the glasses and the answer I got was that«oh you know Tiffany, they like to do it big.». I never bought a pair of Tiffany glasses before so I took that as an answer and it didnt take long before somebody with the knowledge to tell me that it was a SUNGLASSESBOX. My bf had to go back to pick up his pair of glasses a few days later so I asked the lady at the store about why they had to lie to me and give me this sunglasses box. It was at night so it was a different lady and she gave me way better service than those people who tried to rip me off during the day. She said she will have them order me a new box and she also gave me a lens cleaner that day time worker never gave me. I was told that I would get a call when the new box arrive so I waited… and waited… until Nov 21st. It was nearly 2 months already so I had my bf call them again. The lady that answered was surprised by how I still havent gotten my box yet and she said the manager will call me and speak to me the next day. The next day? No calls. So finally on Nov 26th, which is today, I went with my bf to the store to pick up his contacts. As we walked in, the lady that works at the store saids«oh I know exactly who you guys are and what you guys are here for…». She then went in and got me a Tiffany box and claimed that she had to «steal it from another customer» because she knows that I have been waiting for a long time. The box that I got? It wasnt new. There were damages on the cardboard box and the box inside. The lens cloth was used and wrinkled inside the box(with pictures uploaded). THISREVIEWWOULDHAVEBEENZEROSTARSIFIT’S POSSIBLE. PS. I was ASKED to write a review on Unilocal. I guess they would appreciate the notice. So here is the review: UPDATEONREVIEW; WOW.I have had to update this review due the unbeleivable. The pair of glasses that I took hime were prescription sunglasses. After ONE week one lens was blue and the other purple. I returned them and asked they remake them. It took a while but I picked up the«fixed» pair. That pair was tinted too dark. They could not lighten it So I had to try yet a THIRD time. However by that time my actual prescription had changed slightly so they insisted I bring them a NEW prescription. I had to get a brand new pescription which I gave to them. It took them a MONTH to produce the new prescription and the lighter tint. It was still tinted only about 10% when I asked for at least 20% Very light.. I figured since on the earlier attempt I got one lens blue and the other turned purple asking them to try and tint the pair from 10% to 20% would ruin the lenses. I accepted the lenses at the very light tint as they do not give refunds.. It took many trips to this place which is now under renovartion. relocation in Kings Plaza to get one pair of glasses. Too many trips and too many parking fees(No free parking at Kings Plaza 3.00 a trip.. Live and Learn. I wouldnt buy sunglasses there ever again as for some reason they cannot tint a pair of sunglasses to a decent shade. They will either be too light or too dar. Multiple attempts will only cause the lenses they use to change tint. Try your luck. I ORIGINALREVIEW The staff waiting on me were all fine. I had zero issues with any of the staff. My insurance would not cover a complete pair of glasses(well they would but only the lowest quality of lenses It ended costing 200.00 for a single pair of glasses that even had partial insurance for the frame and lenses. However, over the years, I have found if you have a high or difficult prescription no matter where you get glasses made the cost will be much higher than any advertised price of say«99.00». It says in small print on all those ads«for prescriptions up to 5.50 or so one index, no tint, no special lensesnot for bifocals etc. So the price was competitive for the high prescription. The quality of the frame was fine, the tint nice. No complaint on the quality of the frame or the service offered by the staff. The Optician was friendly but slightly dffficult. She examined me and got a different prescription from the Rx I I brought. I was examined only a few weeks previous by a qualified doctor. When I asked her .what is the difference in the prescription… she would not give me a straight answer. «I went to school». I am sure she did. I only asked why the RX she gave me was different from the one I brought. I asked if she would mind checking the RX to make sure the glasses are correct. She insisted the RX she wrote was accurate. NO recheck. Others believe with a difficult prescription you can get a quality pair of modern glasses for 99.00 in a New York store… let me know where. I do not beleive the LIES. The frames alone will cost over 100.00 in any modern store and the lenses if over 4.25 cylindrical will cost a lot more. There is no 99.00 pair of glasses in New York.

They take very few insurances, the people who work there don’t listen, offer very little help and will try to rip you off. One woman named Ida is so rude it is like she was trying to piss you off purposefully– as if she were on a secret camera show. She failed to tell me about the return policy, which is awful. Had I known, I would have gone somewhere else. Once the glasses I bought arrived for my 4 year old son, they were the wrong frames. Big surprise– she put the order in wrong. Then they wouldn’t even adjust the glasses to fit his face so we had to go somewhere else. Do Not go here! You would be better off blind.
