Came here October 13, 2015 to find a barber shop that have a good price. I was introduced to Steve who shows a good passion in cutting hair. Customer service: steve shows a great deal of customer service and takes pride in what he does. He makes sure the everything is perfect which is very good and shows that customer comes first. I been to some barber shops and sometimes the blade be very hot that it burns the skin. But not at steve’s barber shop. The blade was just right. Also as a added bonus, out of all the barber shops I been to Steve washed my hair after done cutting it. That’s a huge +++++ His attitude was great and shows gratefulness The barber shop is very clean. When it comes to price it’s very reasonable. I felt very welcomed as a first time Customer and I will most definitely be back. Thank you steve for showing hospitality.

Steve gave me a great hair cut for $ 14. I can use the $ 25 I saved to buy my own beer.

Great cut the way I like it — with scissors, not clippers. Usually barbers go right for the shears, but not Steve! He likes doing things the right way. The old school way. You don’t walk out with the world knowing you’ve just been shorn. That’s how it should be. The only thing I would recommend is that he clean his scissors and work area after the last customer. It’s not a good thing to sit down and see another mans hair clippings on the tools about to touch your head. Get that part right and 5 stars for sure.

Great experience. Steve was a true gentleman. Last of a dying breed actually and its hard to find. I went in and forget about the cut, he did a wonderful job. I am more about the conversation this guy truly cares and is an old school barber in the fact that he’s the type you can talk to and he will give you good advice. Thanks Steve! Your haircut was impeccable, prices are more than reasonable and company was just pleasurable.

Steve is a super nice guy and does a great cut at your exact specifications. He spends the extra time to make you look good. And all at a fraction of the price of most barbers/salons. Highly recommended.

Excellent service! I was on vacations and I stopped at this place to get my hair cut and it turned into probably one of my best haircuts ever! I got my hair done and my beard trimmed for a very reasonable price.

Can’t beat the price and Steve is friendly and thorough. Gave me a cut that was as good or better than the $ 40+ places I’ve been to.

For years I cut(shave) my own hair. The back of my head is a little flat(not like you’d see it and say«holy cow that’s flat», but flatter than other parts), so when I shave it, clippers naturally clip closer. My hair is also thinning back there. Not a problem for Steve: he cuts in the direction my hair grows and subtly fades it up to even it out. No other barber has done this for me. I get the best cuts from Steve, and at the cost($ 13) there’s probably no other place around to get a quality cut. Steve will straight razor trim your neck, and he also trims eyebrows PLUS has an chrome old school massage device for shoulder/back/chest tension. Pretty great all around. Walk-ins welcome.

Fantastic price, great guy, convenient location. I discovered this place through Unilocal, and all these positive reviews are on point. I wanted to leave one myself to help others who might be looking for a good and inexpensive barber in the neighborhood.

I have been going to Steve for my haircuts for the past two years now. He is very efficient and friendly and my hair comes out looking just the way I want it every time. Best of all its only $ 12! You should definitely skip the fancy barbershops that offer beers/magazines and opt for a great haircut with none of the frills. Two thumbs up!

Steve is a super nice guy who gives a great yet inexpensive haircut. What else can really be said? His shop is immaculately clean at all times and he is genuinely interested in whether or not you like the way you look afterward. He’a also quiet when you’re not in the mood to talk and wonderfully gregarious if he senses you ARE in the mood to talk. He has a good grasp on that sort of thing. He’s also NOT one of those barbers who just take what you say you want as a mere suggestion. Come in with a photo of someone’s hair, say«I want that,» and that’s what you’ll look like when you leave. No nonsense, just a straightforward experience. The only abnormal thing about my trip here was that I left feeling really pleasant, even though it was raining. I have to take a moment to address the malicious little worm who tried to tank this guy’s business because he «stood outside looking creepy, trying to get me to get a haircut.» Did you ever stop to consider maybe he’s trying to drum up business because… gasp… he’s running a business? I know, I know, it’s so weird that a barber who wants to cut hair in exchange for money would say«I am a barber and you should let me cut your hair in exchange for money.» He should just sit and stare out the window and watch people go by, because otherwise he might offend your delicate sensibilities. Oh, and pro tip: he only really stops the people who have terrible looking hair. He was trying to help you. Good job trying to take food out of his kid’s mouth as a reward for his effort. Only one other last important thing: this is a Jewish-run shop and he’s closed on Saturdays for Shabbos. Any other day though and you’re A-OK. I would encourage anyone who lives in NYC and has hair to give the man a shot.
