I’ve taken a lot of yoga over the years, and I must say this is one of the most unpleasant and unrewarding classes I’ve ever taken. I went to a basic class which was taught by a man, I’m not sure what his name was, but he seemed very focused on strengthening exercises, which was weird. He was having us do poses that make my whole body shudder and he had us do them over and over again. Meanwhile, I felt strains, he was telling me I was doing poses wrong if they felt easy but then couldn’t articulate how to make a correction. I got extremely frustrated. The next day my back was aching and my neck was messed up and my roommate who came with me was experiencing the name. I don’t recommend this particular class at all.

Tucked away in a corner of Red Hook by the Gowanus and under the BQE, it’s actually quite a peaceful spot. Very affordable esp if you get a package deal, but I wasn’t particularly impressed by the instructor(John who was also the owner). I mean, I know it’s judgmental of me, but if my instructor can’t do eagle properly, then how am I supposed to submit to his/her tutelage?
