I am a big New York City subway fan, and this place serves as a unique culinary tribute to this engineering marvel. The walls are literally filled with New York City subway history, with replica historical subway maps serving as the wallpaper. The sandwiches are even called«subways» because their distinctive and creative dimensions resemble the trains that make New York City hum. For a true slice of New York City history and authenticity, this place can’t be beat. All the other places that call themselves Subway are poor facsimiles of this place. I have told the owners that they should rename it Famous Original Subway just so people don’t get confused by those other Subways on 53rd and 3rd, 52nd and 3rd, 54th and 1st, and 56th and 2nd. Those places are gross. In terms of food, I recommend the double chicken salad. It may taste like nothing, but the local stray cats love it!
