I get steak tacos from Matamoros all the time. This place is RIGHT behind my apartment and it’s crazy fast. The tacos come with veggies and guacamole and are only $ 2.50 each. It’s insane. I love it. I LUHIT.

Service is not consistent. I prefer the other locations 10 blocks away.

I love the asada tacos! I always get the large, which is the size of a standard corn tortilla. I am also a fan of the tamales. Service is friendly and generally fast. I always get take out, so I can’t comment on table service, but there are always customers eating in.

Ordered a shrimp salad, here… let’s just say that it was expensive, bland and boring, lacked flavor, didn’t fill the gut, and left me used and abused. Like dating a gold digger. #sad.

Wow, the Spicy Enchilada is spicier here than the other location. Tacos are affordable eats: small, $ 1.50 and large, around $ 3. The only alcohol served is lime margaritas on the rocks. This location is half the size of the other one and not as well ventilated.

Grande tacos were pretty bomb with avocado. At 2.50 a piece they were mid range compared to surrounding joints but definitely worth it.

I used to come here often to eat their breakfast items. and then a few months ago got completely turned off when I came in to order their chiles rellenos(stuffed peppers) with rice, and I noticed that they took pre-made dish, shoved it in a microwave, and«cooked» it. Microwaved food is not fresh food, and certainly not restaurant quality. My meal was obviously microwaved to death, they didnt cook one thing from scratch. Thinking maybe it was just a fluke, I tried them about 3 more times, and everytime I would see them throwing it in a microwave. Disgusting to say the least and very disappointed. And now theyve started to microwave their eggs. I mean how hard is it to cook eggs? NEVER coming back here. EVER.

This place is a hallway, with a kitchen at the end; and a bathroom somewhere in between. This is more of a «eat and go» rather than a «sit and dine» type of place. I went on a Sunday evening and was not fond of the crowded area nor the fact that my chair was up against the person sitting behind me. It’s casual and the staff is really nice and knowledgeable. If you like authentic tasting Mexican tacos, this is your place. The $ 1.50& $ 3.00 tacos can’t be beat! I wasn’t a fan of some of the other(overpriced) dishes we ordered, so I’ll just stick to the tacos!

The food was substandard and for the prices they listed, it definitely was not worth the money. I had expected cheaper prices for what they offered. To start off our experience, we got the nachos… which was just a sad plate of food. There were exactly 6 nacho chips on the plate(the plate costs $ 6) that each had a layer of beans in it. There was some chopped lettuce and slice tomatoes available to the side of the actual chips. Not a good start. I got the vegetarian tostada and shrimp tacos. The tostada was very similar to the nachos and was only a slightly less sad plate of food. It was some lettuce, tomatoes and mystery sauce uncaringly placed on a tostada. The shrimp tacos were a surprise because they were decent to eat.

The tripa taco here is absolutely phenomenal. It is different from any other places you’ve been to. I guarantee you. Even compared to Tacos Matamoros I, it is more crispy here. Sometimes, I feel like asking if I can order a bag of tripa and eat it like chips. My only complaint is the consistency of their food. Sometimes my burrito comes out really small, sometimes it comes out with a lot of riec and very little meat. It just varies with them. However, I would still reccomend this place.

Love their tacos! it’s as good as its sister restaurant, comparable to Taco Pablano and El Brono! I had multiple takeout and dined in once, the waitress know very limited english but very friendly, so i tried to keep my orders simple and just stick w my tacos and quesadillas! I used to go more often on summer time so i can bike there on my way back home, and they’re very friendly w me leaving my bike inside the restaurant entrance not blocking the way! my fav are their spicy sausage and beef tacos!

I’ve never ordered something I didn’t love. The nachos are my top fave. The tacos are awesome and authentic! No shredded American cheese *blah*. The burritos will guarantee to stuff you. like a burrito. Haha. The tortas!!! So delicious!!! Queso de hebra, pickled jalapeño, beans, avocado, lettuce, tomato and of course bread. It’s the best sandwich a girl could ask for(and of course your choice of meat). I love the atmosphere. Some of the waitresses are awkward, but the manager is super nice and professional. She’s awesome. This restaurant is totally worth any trip you need to make. I live around the corner, unless it’s raining, I like to eat there.

Nice place to sit down and eat. Tacos are cheap and delicious. The nachos are soo good– each individual chip covered in beans and cheese, with jalapeños and guacamole in the middle, served with an amazing green salsa.

After the three star Unilocal rating, I had to scratch my itch and from a tasting point of view, inquire as to the average at best rating. The starting point for me is to try the tacos first and then venture outward from the menu, if all goes well. The cabesa taco was outstanding, the texture and flavor was likened to that of the locations when I lived in San Diego and 70% of the food was authentic Mexican. The Carne Asada was good, slightly overcooked but the Lengua made up for any shortcoming with the carne asada. Somehow the corn tortillas were semi greasy, which made little difference in the taste. The cilantro, with the onion and the verde hot sauce although complimentary to the meal, were as fresh and bursting with flavor. Not a better verde salsa can be had anywhere else in Sunset Park. Excellent service and an overall culinary experience that will be soon repeated. This is their second location, a three star taco joint would never survive long enough here to open a second location.

Was very el-yummo(pardon my awesome Spanish.) I got the grande vegetarian tacos(which were pretty much regular tacos where I come from in California) and they were delicious! Did not skimp on quantity of ingredients and seemed to be made with care. Staff was friendly and spoke decent English.

This place is great cheap good prices and good food. Not so much different then your usual take out eat fast traditional Mexican places. I eat here every once in a while, I usually ordered a burger or some 1.50 tacos. The best part of this place is being open til 1 am which is great. I give it 3 stars becuase the waitress and service is a hit or miss if eating in.

Enjoy their $ 1.50 tacos! Their $ 2.00 tamales! Their $ 3.00 Tostadas Con Carne! Their other food is, I feel, a little over-priced but that’s just me being spoiled by the above three items. ;) Nice, easy to overlook place. Good for those on a budget.

Wow really over looked this place always thought it was a hole in the wall. Yes it is a damn good hole in the wall. Ordered the Chicken Quesadillas which came with rice and beans. Damn this was the bomb so fucking delicious with the lettuce, radish, sliced onions and how the quesadillas were so crunchy and yummy. Had to have a glass bottle of coke with this fabulous meal. Soda tastes so much better out of a glass bottle. My friend had the tacos and he said they hit the spot. Anytime I feel a hole in my stomach sure enough I will be stopping at this hole in the wall with some real authentic Mexican food. They have everything this is the real deal.

I should pay more attention to awnings as I walk pass by them… Is this the same one as Well I had a carne taco, a spicy pork taco, a beef tostada and a carne asada burrito…(not all at the same time… LOL) It wasn’t bad, but the green salsa made it better. I should make a stop to the one on forty something street…
