If you come here, be prepared to be disappointed. Long wait time and so so food. My Turkish friends can put them to shame. Not only that, their portions are tinee-tiny. Oh, and they’re expensive, like Manhattan prices. Check out the side of rice for $ 2.50. No wonder the place doesn’t have a steady flow of customers.

I’ve been going here semi-regularly since I work down the street. I really only order the shepherd’s salad(with either chicken or salmon on top) since I’m eating light. the prices are reasonable, but not when all you get is 1oz of salmon for $ 2, as shown in a photo I’ve added. They are slowish(10 – 15 minutes for my salad), so call ahead.

I’ve been waiting for months for them to open. No amount of pestering them during construction was going to speed it up. And finally they did, and it was worth the wait. There isn’t really anything interesting in terms of grub along 3rd Ave. Taksim breaks this trend. Taksim 3 opened up to serve the growing art population of Industry City. That being said, their opening hours are meant for the area’s worker bees. They open around 6 or 7 in the morning and close around 5 pm, everyday except Sunday. This is mostly a takeout joint with a few seats in the front and a couple tables in the back. Your no frills lunch spot but it’s Turkish. Staff is nice. Food takes a few minutes due to it being freshly prepared so don’t expect to run in and out in two minutes. The menu is mildly abbreviated from what their place 10 blocks north offers. But the food is no less good. I am a huge fan of the way they grill the meats. It has that mild charcoal taste to it, which I personally love. So far I’ve tried the chicken kebab but I am excited to try more over there. If you’re in Industry City or just hankering for some non-south of the border grub around the 36th St stop, give Taksim 3 a try.
