The taco AlPastor is the best I have ever had. The huaraches are phenomenal. This is the best taco spot in bushwick. Luis, is the greatest.

I live one block away from El Patron. The portions are large, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Be prepared to wait for your freshly prepared food. Great place to bring my guests. If you are in a hurry, go somewhere else.

Not amazing but very good taqueria-style food for pretty damn cheap considering the size and quality. Their burritos($ 7) are easily two meals and solid quesadillas, 1 for $ 5 and 2 for $ 8. However, very small. Do not expect to eat in there.

Super nice counter service. Popped in between the train and home for a quick cheap dinner. Taco was made to order and delicious. It also came with lots of radishes which is always great. Will taco again!

Don’t let the middling review scare you off– these guys most definitely make the best tacos in my neighborhood. The only trouble(and this is the only reason I’m giving them 4-stars versus 5) is that it’s a really small space, with a really small kitchen, and a really small staff. so if they’re busy, you’re gonna need to be patient.

Got my order completely wrong and it was disgusting. Grubhub was of no help when requesting a refund. Manager called me two days later and ask if I still had the food. He then said that he would speak to the chef. No call back. No response. No refund. There are so many other great places within two blocks don’t waste your time or money.

I am a little confused, I just bought 2 Quesadillas, 1 mushroom 1 cheese. Now on the menu it says 2 for $ 8 and for some reason they charged me $ 10. When I asked why it costed $ 10 when it says $ 8 on the menu, they just told me «Special, special» and thats all. I quickly realized it was useless to inquire any further and just went on my way. Has anyone else encountered a similar incident?

Order said it would be delivered between 12:50PM-1PM. It didn’t come until 2PM. It was an order for about 15 people in an office building. The delivery man came on a bike and the food was all over the place. The sauce that was on the Adobo Pollo was spilling out and all over the bag. We were also missing 2 items from the order. When we called to tell them about the missing items, they insisted that they put one of them in the bag for sure. They did not. We paid over $ 160 for an order and you’re going to argue with us? They will never get our business again! Also, one of the pork dishes was not cooked, it was raw! Gross. Terrible service. Food was not very good.

Food took over an hour and a half to deliver and got to us ICE cold! Another hour and I could have flew to México to order food. Called to find out why it took so long and got put on hold, then spoke to some lady whom asked me to look at the order to see what time I ordered, LADYWHYCAN“T YOULOOKATYOURSYSTEMTOSEEWHATTIME I ORDERED. I don’t work for you, anyway you lost a customer, btw out of 5 of us who ordered 3 complained about the food. Next time someone calls to discuss an issue try to resolve it. No I didn’t want anything from the restaurant, an apology would have sufficed rather than nonsense. The staff needs to learn some customer service skills and maybe a little English while you’re at it.

My husband and I were house hunting and we ran into this hole in the wall with no restaurant space. You can sit at the two tiny tables that are set up right by the sidewalk. The food was simple, delicious, and cheap(1 torta, 3 tacos, 2 Mexican sodas for $ 17.50). Everything is cooked to order, so they all came out very flavorful. The old couple that run the place are the sweetest people on earth. This almost made me want to make an immediate offer at the condo across the street — non stop authentic non-pretentious Mexican!

Tacos! 3 for $ 6. It’s so cheap and delicious, how could you not. I had the Al Pastor, Cecina(salted beef) and Chorizo tacos. The come in two flour tortillas, topped with cilantro and tomato. Really fresh and light. They’ve also got salsas you can add on the side. The flavor was on point, the toppings were the perfect amount. Everything was just great. You know you’re in the right place when no one eating or working there speaks English.

I love this place! I can basically make anything I want there vegan just remove the cheese etc. My favorites are the cemitas, tortas, chulupas with a tamarind jarritos.

Delicious greasy Mexican tacos and such. The best in Bushwick if you ask me. And I would know. I am Tsekub Baloyán. I have tried every taco ever made ever. It’s too bad about the lack of a proper restaurant though, because their business really suffers during the winter and that makes me sad.

Hangover Heaven! I live around the corner from this spot and would pass it on my commute to the train station. Finally gave it a shot. Very authentic flavors and and fresh ingredients take me back to a time when I lived in Tucson. I’ve had the chicken tacos and most recently tried the chicken burrito. Each comes with a treasure trove of medium to hot sauces, cilantro, sour cream, the works. I definite must have and would be willing to travel to enjoy this place. Thankfully, I don’t have to!

I have to say that I wasn’t really impressed with this place. I was very happy they had so many vegetarian options(huitlacoche, rajas, nopales, poblano peppers, etc) — mostly quesadillas or tacos, although vegan options aren’t tremendous. I got a big order through them to cater at a school event and most adults liked the quesadillas although the kids thought the cactus and pepper fillings were«weird». I’m vegan so I didn’t have them. I ordered a huge order of pico de gallo to serve with chips, along with some guacamole. A lot of people at the event thought it was the best guac they’ve ever had(including a woman who I suspect has never had Mexican food and is totally unfamiliar with it) but I thought it was pretty average. I will say that the pico de gallo was the worst pico I’ve ever had and we ended up throwing out probably 2 gallons worth of it. It was NOT the pico de gallo that you serve with chips, which is the pico I’ve had in pretty much every Mexican restaurant I’ve ever had. It was huge chunks of tomato — and even huger chunks of onion, to the point that it was simply unpleasant to eat. There was some cilantro but it lacked flavor overall. The tomatoes were bland, there wasn’t enough salt or garlic, and the flavors hadn’t marinated at all. It was more like chunky tomato and onion filling for a burrito than it was actual salsa. Very disappointing. The service was very friendly and accommodating but I don’t think I’ll eat here again.

El Paisa is my favorite bang for the buck off the Myrtle-Wycoff stop. I like that it’s essentially a permanent taco truck with a tarp covering part of the sidewalk. It gets a bit noisey with the trains passing over top

Imagine a taco truck that has no wheels. That is Taqueria El Paisa. Yes there’s a building but you order at a sidewalk facing window and eat leaning near it(or the at the one tiny table). Since I was riding my bike, this was perfect as I didn’t have to lock everything up, but instead ate curbside. The lack of restaurant space is also reflective in their pricing… two heaping meat tacos and a coke cost a mere $ 5. Everything is cooked to order and I was encouraged by the two men prepping cilantro. I really liked the carnitas but the beef was a tad salty. Still, the ladies cooking were nice and the men got a little worried when I snapped some photos, but I assured them I wasn’t «The Man.» I’m a tad jealous there’s no permanent sidewalk Mexican place near me, but then again, i might never buy groceries if there was. If nearby, check it out.
