Solidly good Indian food, quick, great price, and friendly service from the hostess. I usually get the dinner special and it is huge, is always prepared promptly, and nice and hot. I recommend this neighborhood spot

One star for customer service, I would give two but I don’t want to be misleading regarding the food. The customer service in itself was very good. So I love Indian food and I’ve eaten a lot of it… This was the worst that I’ve had. I have never seen chicken tikka masala where the sauce was not thick and creamy. This sauce was completely watery and the chicken was cut into bigger than normal chunks that were dry and not tasty. Just just about 6 big chunks of chicken in the watery sauce… It’s hard to express just how watery the sauce was… It was like a thin broth like canned chicken soup. Very disappointing. I also ordered the samosa chaat which was already cold and soggy when I got it. None of the food was very hot at all even though the delivery was super fast, only ten minutes and seamless predicted about 40. It’s cold outside so I guess that affected the food. Regardless, The way the food arrived made it seem like it was sitting there waiting to be ordered; I almost felt like they just brought me somebody’s leftovers and that also turned me off. The lamb seekh kabab was in a sauce that essentially tasted like pure ketchup which I found nauseating. I wouldn’t order again and I’m really upset that I spent my money here.

Fabulous food, delightful service, hospitality like we were in a home. Recommendations were spot on, price was perfect, tea on the house, lamb so tender it melted me. We had a cozy corner for our date and could not have had a better experience. Bravo. We will be most happy to return.

Ordered delivery for a few items. Samosas were strangely gritty, curry was eatable but clearly super cheap ingredients. Disappointed, as this place is very close to me.

This is not Indian food. If you like your lentils to actually be canned black beans and your masala sauce to be a can of tomato paste then fine but this is horrifying and actually pisses me off that this is sold as Indian food. Place should be ashamed. Anyone who reviewed this place as positive really hasn’t a clue about Indian food. Just because this place is located in a less than desirable location doesn’t mean it should be made as crap. People pay decent money for this.

Okay, there is nothing Indian about this place. I’ve ordered twice from here. I wanted to try it a second time just to see if the first time was a mishap but no, the quality of the food was the same, awful. Their food is very watered down. Lamb curry was awful with little to no meat. Please if you know anything about Indian food, and appreciate a well made Indian food, please by all means stay away from taste of India. Now, if they improve, I’d be glad to patronize them again but I’m done with them for now.

Had a LOT of Indian food here in NYC and this place is the absolute worst we’ve had. Not worth it. Small portions, watery sauce (can’t even really justify calling it sauce, really, it’s more like juice). The lamb curry my bf ordered came with only about 5 chunks of meat — not nearly enough for 1 serving let alone the 2 that we can usually squeeze out of an Indian meal. I’d rather pay the $ 5.00 delivery charge at the other Indian place nearby, it’s seriously worth the extra money just to avoid having to order from this place. The good part? Well, we didn’t get food poisoning. Yet.

Ordered pickup from here the other day. Very fast and efficient service, and delivers at late into the night! Delivery man was very friendly and food arrived hot. However, the taste of food is very watered out.
the tikka masala tasted like cheap tomato sauce and the chicken malai was very bland.
Naan-​bread was like a pita with very little taste, though it was warm and food for dipping.
A very disappointing experience !

I tried Taste of India for the first time this weekend and have to say its definitely the best Indian restaurant I’ve tried in neighborhood. We ordered some samosas to start and I was delightfully surprised that not only were the samosas tasty and not too heavy, but the chutneys were amazingly bright and flavorful. My friends and I ordered a number of entrees to share and everything was excellent. My wife ordered chana masala and asked for it to be made spicy, and when they brought the dish the server explained that they did add spice but not too much so as to overpower the flavors of the dish. They made the right call — the masala sauce was superb, with just the right amount of kick. I ordered the chef’s vegetarian delight, which was creamy without being heavy or greasy.
Great food plus BYOB (apparently they used to sell beer and wine but do not any longer) definitely makes this a go-​to place for Indian food in Crown Heights.

Absolutely delicious! This has probably been the BEST Indian cuisine I’ve had in the area, thus far. This place knows its spices, and masterfully blends them together to give your palate an out of this world experience! Although I ordered a vegetarian entrée, i was super excited to see that this is a halal restaurant which means (YAY!!) there are plenty of beef options! The waitress was really sweet and attentive. I think we may have had some miscommunication at first, but all turned out fine and we were all really happy with our experience. I highly recommend this place, if haven’t been here yet! We’ll be coming back, for sure!

This place is decent. I ordered at 11pm on a Tuesday, and i got a call at 11.30pm the delivery man was at my door. food was hot, and decent. had the mul soup, saffron rice, & naan… very good naan. iv also previosuly had the tikka chkn masala and samosas – bith very good. delivery guy was friendly.

Taste of India is a great deal. The food you get is delicious and the prices are extremely fair, if not downright cheap.
I ordered the dinner special to go (thirteen dollars for enough food to satisfy me and my boyfriend, plus leftovers!) and was rewarded with extremely fast, friendly service. Highly recommended.

This place is the tits. The best Chana Saag, everrrrrrr.

Indian restaurants in the Prospects Heights/​Bedstuy are always tough to gauge. For some reason everyone alway orders Indian food for delivery so the dining areas are Usually empty. Feeling a need to fill In my Naan craving I decided to give this place a shot.
Started with the vegetable samosa of the lunch special. There were only 2 but not was a great start. My main dish was a chicken curry with white rice. Not spicy (as requested) but lots of flavor.
Dine in service was very good. As expected there was no one else in the small restaurant, so the waitress was right there If we needed anything. No the décor is good for a date night (only if you don’t want a second date) but the service and food drum up no complaints.

Wow, was that terrible. The Chicken Tikka Masala was fine, but the daal was made with black and kidney bean instead of lentils. It tasted like canned chili. Yuck.
We ate in the restaurant and the service was strange. The waiter would hover around too much at the wrong times, like while we were eating, and then disappear for 5 minutes when we needed important things, like water.
Gave us a coupon on the way out the door, don’t think we’ll use it.

So I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and my boyfriend ordered the Curry Chicken both served with basmati rice. We also order Naan bread, and took the Meat Samosa home with us. I really did not enjoy the Chicken Tikka Masala as much as I thought I would. The sauce that it came with made it even worst. Wouldn’t order it again. My boyfriends’ Curry Chicken was much better. Wish I would have ordered that instead. The rice was dry, but the naan bread was tasty. The meat samosa were average-​could have used some more seasoning. The dipping sauces were different but didn’t taste bad.
We went late so we were the only ones in there (kinda romantic) The lighting and decorations were very nice. Our waiter was kind, but the ice machine was broken so my orange juice which was horrible was warm. My boyfriend ordered a Sprite which they didn’t have so instead he got a Ginger Ale in a can (smh)
Overall I wouldn’t go back there. I do wanna try other different Indian restaurants in the future.

I agree with Anne L. «why do the owners/​managers self sabotage the way they do?» Came in to use a Groupon, had a $ 3.60 balance. The manager threw a hissy about letting me use my credit card when they have a $ 12 minimum. Finally, he let me use my credit card and take my already-​prepared food which was cooling on a side table while we argued. Luckily he decided to unpack my bag and double-​check my order or I’d have left without one of my appetizers.
I would have ignored the kerfluffle as he did finally let me charge my dinner but the food is just so especially not great. The two stars really are just for the food.

Just redeemed a groupon at this spot today and zOW ! SO GOOD !
Full of flavor, amazing condiments & dishes. Perfect naan.
And man there’s this red spicy sauce that is KILLER make sure you get it. if u like dat hot hot.
