I almost never ever turn down food for the simple fact that I love to eat(haha…) but I absolutely had to turn this food down. It was delivered and even though I saw bad reviews, I thought I would give it a shot. However, the second I opened our food, I knew that I wouldn’t like it. In fact, I HATED it… I got two tacos and they were inedible. We also got nachos, and every chip was either super SUPER stale or severely soggy. The salsa is watery and bland, and I ordered a Snapple, and they gave me the wrong one. Not one thing was right about our order. I don’t recommend this place, and I would even go so far as to say — if I could give zero stars, I would. The only good thing was that our order arrived to our apartment on time, which isn’t even that great, because that’s to be expected.

We ordered take-out from here last night and it was … alright! The steak wasn’t fatty or greasy, and the shrimp and chicken enchiladas were pretty tasty. That said, like I read in an earlier review, the majority of the other food was pretty average, nothing that we couldn’t have made ourselves at home. Maybe next time if I want something fast, I will just eat something from a box …

Coming from LA, I don’t put this in the same category as Mexican food, it is in the Tex-Mex from a Chinese restaurant category and it is one of te better options. The food is not too greasy like most places, the veggies taste fresh, the tomatoes aren’t refrigerated(I loathe that texture), and the meat isn’t full of gristle and fat. The grilled chicken and steak are actually quite tasty. Also the Chinese guy who is always there, who I assume to be the owner, is nice and funny. I kinda wish there was more space to eat there

Ok, first of all people, know what kind of place you’re going to. If you want real Mexican food, don’t go there. But if you want a lot of cheap, munchie style grub you’ll probably be ok with Tex Mex Fresco. First of all, know that it’s what I call a ‘Chinese Mexican food joint’. It’s run by Chinese people, so don’t expect an authentic Mexican food experience. That being said, I’ve ordered both take out and delivery from this restaurant. You definitely don’t want to eat inside, as it’s pretty depressing and a lot of questionable individuals come into food joints in the evening on Flatbush Ave. Funny story; the time I ordered take out I was solicited by a very rough looking prostitute as I was sitting at a table waiting for my order, lol. Now let’s get down to more important things. I ordered three tacos(one steak, two beef, they call it ‘chili’ taco) and a chicken burrito. The burrito was good, but they didn’t know how to wrap it like a burrito, it was more in a huge taco form, but a little construction on my part fixed that. So, the burritos there are definitely fine, not great, but fine. The tacos were ok, but they use corn tortillas. If you’re getting tacos from an authentic Mexican-run Mexican place corn tortillas are fine, because they do it regs Mexican style, with a little guac, onions, cilantro, and they usually give you a couple pieces of lime to squeeze some juice on them. But with cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and lettuce, I think flour tortillas are definitely a better choice. When I ordered delivery, I couldn’t believe how fast the food got to my apartment, I even had to ask ‘Who?” over the intercom to make sure it wasn’t somebody else. So they definitely get an A+ on promptness. Overall, it’s good for what your getting, but I tend to only order Chinese Mexican when I’ve had a good amount of alcohol in me and don’t want to be too discerning about the taste of my food or I’m just too lazy to cook and better places have already closed for the night. It is what it is, so don’t get all ‘food snobby’ about it. They’re hard working people trying to branch out and do something besides the typical Chinese joint(which there are way too many in my neighborhood, in my opinion), so give them credit where credit is due. But if you’re looking to give your tastebuds a gift, you might want to try someplace else.

Seriously, just save your money and go to the store and get some Goya rice and beans and tortillas and throw that shit together. It was not good at all. It tasted like someone was like oh, snap, remember that order? Let’s throw something together really quickly. I probably could have made better tex mex if I tried. Don’t order from here unless you reall just can’t cook at all and have low standards for tex mex.

I did not expect much from this place and I was not disappointed. Typical Chinese made Mexican food, you get what you pay for pretty much. It’s not totally tasteless but don’t expect a vast range of seasoning for your money. It’s cheap, rather okay tasting and it gets the job done-subsiding your afternoon/late night quick meal hunger.

I ordered TMF tonight for dinner and wasn’t all that impressed. Since it’s the weekend, I usually do the junk food & movies on the couch thing so I wasn’t looking to get too serious with my meal. Thank God I didn’t have high expectation for anything high quality because I would have definitely been pissed off. I ordered the chicken wings and french fries. First I was so impressed with how fast the delivery arrived, like within 10 – 15 minutes… but then I looked into the chicken wing box and realized it was because it only took them 2 minutes to cook the baby chickens they sent me. The wings were so small and puny I almost felt bad for trying to eat them. It was like eating freshly hatched chicks cloaked in buffalo sauce. The fries were good, but you can rarely go wrong with frying Ore Ida’s pre-cooked fries. Suddenly the speedy delivery wasn’t quite as exciting. It just made sense– you don’t need a lot of time when you’re not making good food.

The Chinese owner is super nice and willing to make conversation when he has a little down time, which isn’t very often. He has plenty of customers coming in and lots of delivery orders. Small takeout place with two tables, 4 chairs to dine in. Very clean. $ 5.75 for a humongous Tex-Mex Chili Burrito: tons of good stuff in a super fresh pan-warmed lightly flour tortilla, rice, cheese, black beans, lettuce, tomato, guac, and salsa on the side. I’ll definitely be returning to try the fresh chips and hard tacos

So, so cheap for the portions you get. My boyfriend and I can feast for $ 10. They have really fast delivery, and I like the food a lot — especially the tex-mex chili tacos($ 1.35 apiece). We order from here all the time.

I come from a place where Mexicans cook Chinese food, so it’s still a little weird to see the opposite. Regardless, these guys are pretty speedy and they fry their own chips. Muchas xiexies!
