Very highly rated, but other than the fish n chips, i wasnt too impressed. I had a nice big piece of haddock, but breading on fish was only okay. And fries were just ok too. Bangers and mash was overly buttery and scottish eggs tasted old and refried. Service was great, our waitress was helpful and upbeat, food came out fast. They have 20% off happy hour at the bar and two big tvs. Mightve had a better time if i had a drink, likely not returning for the food again but it was worth a try.

Fancier than most uk chippies. Offers proper fish & chips, full-size pints, and premier league matches on the Telly. Excellent service– friendly and attentive. Will definitely go again!

Although we made many delivery orders previously, it was actually my first time to dine at Atlantic Chip Shop on post Christmas holiday dinner. Upon entering, I was welcomed with the British ambiance(with a dive bar-ish feel to it) and the stench of malt vinegar. The restaurant serves various local and international ales and beers. The table seating is casual and you can help yourself to a table. As always, we ordered the Haddock and chips with curry sauce and peas. I would say that it was one of my delightful, sumptuous and unpretentious post Christmas dinner in awhile. The staff are helpful and within reach when you needed something or re-order anything. If you are in the Brooklyn Heights area, do not hesitate to visit this neighborhood gem.

I’ve been dying to check this place out for ages, but every time I’ve tried it always had a very unfortunate wait time, like around an hour or more. Well one day my boyfriend and I decided to see a movie and it just so happens the time the movie was playing made it so we had to have dinner at an off time. Which meant I could finally have the fish and chips I’ve been dreaming about!!! I ordered the battered cod and chips and my boyfriend had the chicken and chips. It was so so so good, I haven’t had fried fish like that in such a long time, I wish I had it right now to be honest, and the chips were good as well. The fried chicken was also tasty and they both came with a side sauce, I’m not exactly sure what they were but I liked them both all the same. I really loved the décor, I use to be very into the English Punk Scene so the décor really spoke to me. It looked very industrial but still had this Old English feel to it, so cool. The table I was sitting at actually had English Currency underneath the glass, very creative. Our waitress also had an adorable accent, another thing I loved. If you’re looking for some fish and chips or want to go to an original restaurant this is the place to go. I’ll probably be dragging my family here next time the visit me. =]

Small location, but perfect bar atmosphere. If you can find a seat at the bar I suggest you do so rather than waiting to be seated at a table. My destination for fish & chips. The fried mac & cheese balls taste exactly like mac & cheese in a bowl. I was expecting ultimate cheesy mac & cheese in the fried balls. I also wished the hot sauce they offered was spicier, but overall I enjoyed my time and will be visiting again. I hope to try one of the fried desserts next time.

I have been going to the park slope location for a few years and was sad to see it closed. Having lived in London for a while, sometimes I just crave good olé British pub grub. We ordered: 1) the scotch eggs, disappointed. The egg was overcooked. The best part of this dish for me is that it is normally prepared as sausage wrapped around a soft boiled egg, and the semi soft yoke with the hard sausage makes the dish a textural delight. I couldn’t eat half of this dish here– overcooked and tough as a big rubber ball. 2) fish(COD) and chips: it was ok. A bit flavorless and underwhelming. Maybe they left it in the fryer too long. The cod was separated from the batter when I cut the fish in half(like the fish shrank and there was too much batter), although the batter was nice and crispy, so I didn’t mind eating it alone. 3) mushroom Mac and cheese: this was the best dish at dinner. The Mac and cheese was loaded with mushrooms and the top was topped with charred flamed broiled cheese. 4) Shepard’s pie: meh. Flavorless and not as good as I remembered from the park slope location. 5) spinach salad and bacon and mushroom: decent salad. Bacon was delicious and crispy. Overall, it would be a three star food, but the scotch egg was so bad, it killed a star.

Place is head and shoulders above most bars. The ambiance and music are very on point(if you’re into 90’s and early 00’s alt rock). The staff is pretty friendly and are happy to give you a suggestion if you find it tough to pick something. You pretty much can’t go wrong with what you pick. Me and my sister split a few appetizers and had the fish & chips and the Sheppard’s pie. Sooo good. Then fried Reese’s cups and that’s how you close a late lunch(and clog an artery… Worth it)

Had a full English breakfast here a couple of times, and after spending some time in London, being at Chip Shop feels a lot like how it feels to be in a pub there. And that’s a good thing. I think the English breakfast is better than the fish & chips. Yeah, I said it. I’m still rather devastated that the Chip Shop closed on 5th Ave. in Park Slope.

Closed down by the board of health for deep frying everything, and reopening with a giant FU and deep frying everything again(and double frying some pie) you’ve gotta love this all American. I mean British … I mean… Look don’t deep fry pizza it’s bad and dry, but definitely get the giant ball of fried mac and cheese, it’s amazing. Enjoy some craft beer while yer at it. Easy does it cowboy.

I truly enjoy this wonderful place the fish and chips amazing. Never had a bad meal here. But what I crave and make the hubby bring back to me whenever he is there.. Is the fried Mac and Cheese. Enjoying it now after a a Sweet reheat in a 400′ oven.. Happiness is served.

Ordered: Fish and chips, Fried Reese’s, Double-fried cherry pie, Beef shepherd’s pie, Scotch eggs Pros-Fries and dessert were amazing. Cons-Scotch eggs’ taste was too unusual for me(possibly because served cold?).

If it were the«Atlantic Tripshop» it would sell extra-long shoelaces. If it were the«Atlantic Knicks-shop» it would sell underperforming basketball stars to teams where they would go and thrive. And if it were the«Atlantic D***shop» then it would basically be Unilocal Talk NYC. What to get: Rhubarb Crumble, British Sodas. What else: Fried Pizza, Deep Fried Candy And: Nothing else did it for me yet, but I’ll try it again. Rating it a 5 *just* for the above items. If I rated it based on breakfast, pies, fish, chips, and prices, it’d score less. The good: — This place is the last remaining. The other location closed down, which is a tragedy if you ask me. The Park Slope Chip Shop, I mean. It was a wonderful place. But«Atlantic» still remains. — Their Rhubarb Crumble, while being far from the best I’ve had, is something you simply cannot get in the USA, and it’s one of the best desserts you’ll ever eat. Tart sweet rhubarbs with sexy crumble and yellow custard poured all over it. Piping hot, filling, delicious. Always ask for extra custard. — They deep fry Candy Bars like the Scottish do and they do it well. If you’ve never had a Deep Fried Mars Bar, now is the time to start. It’s one of the unhealthiest but gooiest tastiest things you’ll ever eat. — They have a wide array of genuine authentic British sodas(overpriced) including Irish Sodas called Club Lemon, Club Orange, and Club Rockshandy. The Club ones are the best and very hard to find in the USA. Try them — so much better than American sodas. — The Fried Pizza is pretty good, and the British menu is extensive. — The owner is wonderful. Since writing this review, he messaged me(and was lovely) and I saw him on TV(again, lovely). And he’s so passionate about his shop and his product, that even if I hadn’t already given him a 5, he’d be raised to a 5 for this. Bravo. Customer service gold star. The less good: (Bear in mind I am very very very picky about my English savoury foods because I grew up there and have had — imo — the best of the best all over the UK) — Everything other than the above is not my fave. The full breakfast didn’t do it for me and not remotely British tasting. The chips didn’t seem like authentic chippy chips, but more like British restaurant chips which I never liked even in UK. The pies I didn’t like. A bit dry. The fish isn’t my fave. I prefer British Chippy in South Buffalo NY, but will give Atlantic another try for these items soon. — Service at this location was good, whereas at ParkSlope it was hit or miss. — Prices are too high, in my opinion. Yes it’s NYC but I’d visit a lot more if everything were cheaper. This food is dirt cheap in UK. — The other location is closed down. That’s just bad no matter how you look at it. I miss it. So all in all, you need to get here and try this stuff, but only the deep fried pizza and candy bars, the Club sodas, and the Rhubarb Crumble. Everything else, I’m not convinced it’s the impression I want you to have of cheap British comfort food. But I want you to have this: (pulls down pants)

Once a month a group of friends and I make a trip to the city for a day of basketball and hanging in the city, Atlantic Chip Shop is our spot when we are starving and we don’t mind the walk to this restaurant no matter where we are, you’ll be greeted by very kind waitresses who all have a British accent they’re very witty and like good conversation their beer selection is amazing and they were kind enough to let us sample the beers since it was our first time enjoy it if you go! Chris, I would have to say the Empire cream ale is my favorite so far which I found odd given I don’t like light beers but my friend gave me a taste of his and I ordered one and just loved it

Things found here: The Best Hangover Cure. That award goes to the ridiculous plate that is the Full English Hash. It’s a Full English breakfast, but then the chop it all up for you, mix it together, and top it with melted cheese and two fried eggs. Pretty much the best thing for a hangover you can imagine. This and a nap, you’ll feel human again. The Best Fish & [OK] Chips The fish, they’ve got down. Big, beautiful pieces of haddock or cod, with the best battered crust you can ask for and good tartar sauce to go along with it. But the chips really need some work. A place that fries so many things so well, it’s honestly pretty shocking that the fries themselves aren’t better. They aren’t bad, they could just be much, much better. But overall, fish & chips is a solid order. The Best Worst Service. I don’t know why, but they are always, always understaffed. The waitresses they do have are sweet and personable and on point, but you are going to have to wait a while for everything simply because there is usually only one of them on. Luckily, they make it up with adorable accents(at least some of them), and they will bring you good beer and cider(although they were out of the Magner’s we needed after a rough day on the pitch), and fried everything. Seriously, they fry everything. Among my favorites: fried mac & cheese, fried Reese’s peanut butter cups(The Best Thing Ever), [seasonally dependent] fried girl scout cookies(thin mints were a winner), and more. They don’t do fried Oreos unless you bring them in yourself.

Our experience at the Atlantic ChipShop was just perfect! Everything from the food, the service, was just absolutely flawless! We always love the ChipShop. We were sad hearing the Park Slope ChipShop closed down. We were happy to hear at least the Atlantic ave location is still open. We stopped by around 7pm on a Sunday for dinner. The place was busy but we were seated immediately. The one thing that we love about the ChipShop is that they will deep fried a lot of stuff, even a pizza! We just had to order their deep fried pizza. We also got the mushroom mac n’ cheese & the beef shepherd’s pie. The mac n’ cheese & the shepherd’s pie came with a choice of salad, veggies, & one other thing that we forgot. The food is really good! Delicious! The mushroom mac n’ cheese has a lot of mushroom in it. The deep fried pizza is so good, it’s one of those food that you must try here. Their beer selection is also pretty good. The portion for the food is huge! Generous portion! We have big appetite. We wanted to get their deep fried desserts but we were stuffed!!! This place also have a big screen TV that plays sports. When we were there, there was a soccer game played on TV. Another thing, this is so rare but wow, when we were there, they were playing great classic rock! It’s almost like they were playing our mp3 playlist because we love every song that was played there. Service was great! Our waitress, she was so friendly & very polite. The food came out pretty fast too! If you like good food, great service. & great value, you must stop by here. Our bill came out to about $ 33. We love you ChipShop! We’ll definitely go back!

I really enjoyed hanging out at the ChipShop. It’s a small space and runs a bit divey, but it’s fun and quirky enough to ignore all of that. The drink menu drops a lot of brew options(and a few lines about each drink) and some fun items, including a ginger beer with 4.5%ABV. The food… fried heaven, with a few other options as well. We came in during brunch, so eggs and English bacon was available. What did I get? Shepherd’s Pie, bc really, why the hell not. It was solid. Love me a meat n potato casserole. Didn’t try the fish and chips, but I saw a bunch of em get gobbled up real quick. And the fish… it’s a huge portion. Will def be back for some of that. Will this be an everyday place for me? My arteries won’t allow it, but I’ll def be back from time to time to enjoy the bar and some Premier League. Do it. Protip: Get the fried Girl Scout Cookies. So. Good.

It sounds like heaven on earth, a restaurant that focuses on fried food? Hell yeah! I originally heard of this place since it was featured on Food Paradise on the Travel Channel. The place is essentially a dark English bar that serves mostly fried items. If you want, you could bring in items for them to fry. The food: Battered Cod & Chips– I thought the cod was cooked nicely, it was a nice flaky white fish with a nice crunchy batter, the fish had a nice clean flavor. But the fish was a tad greasy and the chips were just so so. The chips were basically uncrunchy steak fries and I like my fries crunchy. Fried Macaroni– It’s a big ass ball of fried mac that’s it battered and fried. The fried mac wasn’t anything special really, it was essentially Kraft mac, cooled, scooped into a ball, battered and fried. I would skip. Deep Fried pizza– As odd as this sounded, I had to try it. It’s basically left over pizza battered and fried. It was meh, it really just felt like left over pizza with a crunchy batter. Fried Mars Bar– This was so amazingly good, it there was one thing to get here this would be in, then the fish & chips. The mars bar is nice and warm with a nice crunch on the outside and the chocolate inside is ooey and gooey.

We recently went back for some more. The newest item we tried was the fried pizza. Very tasty and enjoyable, but could use either more sauce inside or sauce on the side. I really enjoy the curry chicken. The environment is very laid back and service is good, we were checked on a couple of times. :) I wanted to retry the twice fried cherry pie, which apparently isn’t always available. Actually our menu showed it crossed out and we asked the waitress to check, and sure enough it was available. This time we got it with a side of vanilla ice cream… mmm good. I’d just enjoy it with a little less batter on the pie or for it to be crispier. Besides for soups(which I didn’t try), I don’t see much change on the menu which is a good thing, but I do like to see places trying new things.
