I order from the Mug Café on grub hub at least once a week. Every single item I’ve tried; from the pancakes, to the wraps, quesadillas, sandwiches and coffee and muffins has been truly outstanding. The owner clearly has very high quality standards for their food, and that is extremely rare among the restaurants in my delivery zone. I will be a loyal customer as long as I’m in Brooklyn.

If i could give this place NO star I would. I placed my order at 10:30 am; it is currently 12:36pm and no one can find the driver or my order. Half the people in my office decided to order breakfast and it is now stretching into lunch indefinitely. Seamless says its 80 – 90 minutes due to the distance which is understandable but were going on past 2 hours now. This is completely and utterly ridiculous and the fact that no one knows anything is disgusting. At 11:45 they told me the driver will be here in a few minutes. Their clock must be different then mine. Well, now it is 12:53 and I have officially cancelled my order and the office ordered chinese food. I WOULDNEVERRECOMMENDTHISPLACE, I’m so furious! The whole office will be writing reviews.

A lovely café to go to with friends to enjoy brunch. The service was wonderful, the staff is really nice and friendly, the food was good, and the Cappuccino I had was pretty and tasty. And the prices and everything is great and affordable. The Mug Café has good selection of different foods that you can have, from Pasta’s, Burgers, Salads, Pizza, etc. I recommend this place.

Love this Place! One of the Only places in the Neighborhood you can sit and relax and eat before or after you get off the Train. Sometimes I’ll stop in and relax and eat before I head out and start my day or come in and decompress after a long day at work. I really like the Family owned and operated feel and was quickly treated like a regular. My favorites are the Fresh Everything Bagels. The California Wrap, Pizza Pies — To Stay or Go and The Coffee! So glad a place like this finally exists in this Neighborhood!

Just a couple blocks walking from one of my jobsites and across the street from the R line 59th stop, Mug Café knows how to put a smile on my face. Is it the consistently delicious sandwiches and breakfast offerings? Chicken sandwiches for lunch?, yeah they make a great one no problem. Deliciously crispy bacon on everything, let’s do some of that. Robust coffee, fresh and made to order without missing a beat, check. One thing I tried here that I didn’t like was French toasts which lacked that fluffy texture and rich taste, these were slightly stiffer and the flavor just wasn’t there, I’d say stick to the breakfast sandwiches and you’re golden. I also enjoy ordering my food in Spanish and the front counter lady has a sense of humor and is a real sweet woman.

What’s better than BREAKFAST, LUNCH&PIZZA! This café is basically my kitchen. Whether it’s bagels, wraps, or burgers the quality of the food & service is superb! The best delivery spot in town!

Disappointed. 1st time I went in here they did not have everything bagels. 2nd time I went in here their debit card machine was down. Unfriendly service, slow service, plain tasting foods. Yuck. Won’t be back.

Ordered an omelette platter, a bagel, and orange juice about an hour and 20 minutes ago. The delivery guy still hasn’t shown up yet and I live about 10 minutes away. The food is decent but I will never ever order delivery from them again. This is just ridiculous.

I ordered delivery from here based on these rave reviews and great pictures, the menu is varied enough to suite everyone’s tastes without being so far out there that you know it’s all boxed and canned. I was pissed at their«Fresh baked muffins» as they are clearly frozen delicious Otis Spunkmeyer muffins, sold for about 75 cents each and jacked up by about $ 3. Fine, I will bite and pay my $ 4 for this obviously frozen muffin. What I was NOT ok with was that my muffin was dry, and stale, and crumbling to bits with every bite. All you have to do is defrost them in half an hour! WTF! My daughter had the pizza which was good by her standards, but not if you grew up in Brooklyn, I was really disappointed by these reviews. My husband ordered breakfast, and for the first time in about ten years I watched him leave behind pancakes. PANCAKES! The man who will eat crappy box mix pancakes, left his pancakes to the trash. I didn’t touch my bacon. Any time I ask for extra crsipy bacon 90% of these places seem to think that means I want raw soggy bacon for some reason, and I called back to complain about the bacon, and was met with attitude, so then I complained about my stale dry muffin and got hung up on. HA! I just want to know who wrote these reviews and if they actually ate any food from this place. I should have stuck with the bagels and eggs it seems, but even a 10 year old can get that down.

The mug café is the only place in the neighborhood which provides a fine eating experience. They have a diverse menu that somehow always has what you want; whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. The staff is incredibly kind and always offers friendly conversation. They also have cold brew, which is a hard find in Sunset Park. It seems that there’s just endless perks with this place, because they also offer free wifi so it’s a cute place to sit and study or finish any work that you may be behind on.

FANTASTICSUPERBEXQUISITE! This place cannot be described in words but in an actual tasting! The plating was SO professionally done! I ordered French toast with turkey bacon, syrup was not even needed that’s how awesome it tasted! Sprinkled powder sugar added an elegant touch! The place is beautiful, clean and they sell healthy juices! The chocolate croissant melts in your mouth! Seriously go try them! Not expensive at all! I love this place! They are very friendly too! I would give them 10 stars if I could! I am sorry that I didn’t take a photo but I was dying to dig in! A+++++++++

Pretty disappointed with this place. They have an assortment of baked goods that look really good but they all taste really bland. The staff also come off as unprofessional as half of them were sitting down and having a conversation about weird topics with the cashier while I was ordering. I guess the coffee is ok, not worth the praise that everyone else wants to give it though. And the interior is definitely a pizza place’s interior rather than a coffee shop’s which is annoying as the only cafes in this whole area are parlay and green fig. I guess if I lived next door I’d go… But I can’t rationalize walking more than 5 blocks for this place.

One of my favorite chill spots. I come here about once a week at least; I come for the coffee and egg bagels, and stay for the friends and atmosphere. Sometimes the wifi(for me anyway) is a bit spotty! But otherwise p much perfect

Great coffee, great people, great vibes! This seems to be a family business that provides this area with just what it needs. The prices are affordable, menu is varied, and you get service with a smile. PS: they deliver!

Surprisingly decent and refreshing place hidden in the seediest part of Sunset Park – really an anomaly among the surrounding shambles and generally run-down, dilapidated area. This place will catch your eye as you shuffle by – you can hardly help taking a peek inside. When you do – its a real treat, believe me. Airy and open, inviting. Brand-spanking new décor which is super-CLEAN and welcoming. Counter, tables, floor – they did a great job in the layout and the staff are constantly sweeping and wiping surfaces down to keep it looking yar. Italian atmosphere with terracotta-style tiles. Menu: covers an interesting swathe of foods. Initial emphasis on breakfast orders, custom-made sammiches and coffee, pastry/bakery, wraps, salads, fruit… but then at the same time there’s the ‘burger’ and ‘pizzeria’ side to the place with a separate counter and ovens for all that. Now, the pizza: I like that they make every pie to order while you’re standing right there and you can see everything going on the pie. Ingredients look and taste good. The pie is thin-crust style but(the only thing missing as far as I could tell) was that it was not thin ‘crispy’ crust. Everything else about the pie I had was decent. Price? Just a hair increase over normal pizza prices but fully within reason. And the quality is reliable, like I’m saying. Ownership: looks to be a ‘mom&pop’ style operation; young couple… they have a good vision for their business; good focus and attention to detail. Very personable and gregarious. Willing to accommodate any menu preference or ingredient-swap. All in all – considering the rest of the run-down block its on – this place is a standout, very comfortable to sit and dine in at a leisurely pace any time of day. I’m impressed.

I live right around the corner from the Mug and come here all the time. The people that work here are super friendly. I love that they have vegan pizza and that they’ll basically make whatever you want them to make. Their menu is extensive but if you just tell them what you want they’ll still make it. However I don’t think their coffee is that great. I wish they used more expensive beans or just made a stronger brew. Its still a lot better than any deli coffee for sure, but for a café– they gotta up their game a bit. Its a great airy shop, lots of changing options, a wifi code and bathroom. Basically the best deal to have right by the train! I also love that its not beugois-y or hipster. Its just good food at awesome prices and friendly people behind the counter.
