Rock themed bar playing good tunes. Saw a friend at his live show there. The sound system balance was a bit off though. Friendly people here and a good dive bar vibe. But I am curious what it was like pre hipster days. Speaking of which, it’s closing in a month. Get there while you still can!

TRASHBAR! This is what I had dreams NYC nightlife would be like, prior to moving to NYC. A little sketchy, a little trashy but cool just the same… I did not anticipate the smell that came from Trash Bar but you get use to it. I like the vibe and the bartenders are cool as %$#@.

Bar in the front, music venue in the back. The whole place kind of smells like urine. Recently went to a show for $ 10, which got us free open bar(some beers and well drinks) for a few hours, which was cool… if you can put up with the smell of pee.

Trash bar is more then your normal dive bar. It’s got a charm to it that very few music venues still have.

Front of the place is a classic dive bar. Cheap drinks and a pool table with really bad pool cues. I think there was a CRT tv? In the back is a great live music venue. I don’t even know what the names of the bands i saw were called but they were loud and passionate so it worked. Apparently they are moving soon so get to this spot before they do. You will be sad that you didn’t when people talk about it after it is gone. I look forward to going to the new spot when it opens.

Honestly, you get what you expect when you walk in. I was concerned with getting bed bugs due to how the crowd looked. However, I’d be a jerk off to walk into TRASHBAR and be offended. I will say, they do need to do something about the odor and sweaty air, though. It’s only sexy when the people are sexy. LOL I think i’d rate this another star higher if only they emptied the air out once in a while.

What a dump! In a good way. The drinks are cheap, the bathrooms are disgusting, and I can just hear my mom yelling to turn down the music. I can definitely say that I’m not a fan of Williamsburg, but I dug this place.

Don’t think about it. Just go in! Great atmosphere, great juke box, great live music, cheap drinks, and pool!

I waited an hour and a half to do karaōke here before eventually giving up and leaving. I was with a big group of people who were buying drinks. When I got to the place it was empty and there were maybe 30 people. They were playing favorites and I watched some dude go twice while I was waiting. Queens of the Stone Age followed by some metal bullshit. These people are pricks. I called them on their bullshit and the girl running the show looked at me like I was the asshole. She knows exactly what’s going on. The beers are overpriced also considering that this place is a shithole. Worst night I’ve had in a long time, courtesy of trash bar. Who would have thought… Don’t come here.

This place is a dump, but my friend’s band plays here, so I have to go sometimes. There is always a steep cover(ex: $ 8 for a bad metal show), the service is rude, the drinks are moderately priced and the sound system is lousy. And I must stress again that it is a dump. Tip: The speakers stink so save your hearing and buy $ 2 ear plugs at the bar.

Seemed like a pretty typical dive to me. Drink prices weren’t that great, crowd wasn’t that great, and overall I wasn’t really feeling it. I stayed for one drink and left.

I’ve been going to Trash Bar regularly for a few months, and to be honest, I’m not completely sure why I’m still going. I’ll start with the positives: –There’s free karaōke after 1am on the weekends. -$ 5 dollar beer cans + shots no matter what time it is. –The novelty of the atmosphere there(the couches are all car seats, band stickers LITERALLY on every inch of the walls) Now here are the negatives. –THEBARTENDERSARERUDE and will actually argue with you if the tip you give doesn’t suit them. For example I always give 20%, but accidentally tipped 15% once and the bartender flipped out on me. –The stench. I understand that with a name like«Trash Bar» you shouldn’t expect a place that smells like roses. With that being said, the odor is often hard to take. All in all, Trash Bar is a decent place to end your night if you’re blackout drunk.

So I came to the Trash Bar to hear a friends band, it was a Sunday night and the place was empty, but the music was loud and the drinks were strong! I don’t knw if they do this for all shows, but for this one the first hour was open bar, my liver was in love! The cover was only 7 $ So this was a bargain. The music is in the back behind two curtains, there is also a bar back there. Tiny seating areas made up of clusters of old car seats are all over. There is also a tiny photo booth. The front houses the bigger bar, the same style seating, and a pool table. The basement has a bathroom and more seating, it’s dark, deserted and looks like the birthplace of bad decisions. On the whole this place looks scary, smells a little weird, and I would watch where I sat. It’s called Trash bar for a reason right. BUT the staff are the nicest people ever, warm and friendly and way less judgmental than they could be. If you are looking for a friendly place to get a strong drink and rock your face off, check out Trash Bar, it’s great. PS check out the Rock Karaōke, the host is stunningly handsome, and sweet to boot!

Dear Trash Bar, I’ve been coming to you since I can remember. From beer soaked tables, and the cigarette stench on your curtains, everything begs for a 5 star review for this dive, but after years of seeing bands play here, you consistently do them the dishonor of providing them with crappy sound. You have a sound guy don’t you? He blows! Went here recently to hear my friends from Elder play, formerly severed, these guys are top notch musicians, who’ve played shows their whole life, and though their arrangements were killer, and their talent top notch, their instrumentation was lost within the sound– Goodness, I could do better. Please Remedy this! Til then, you are a 5 star in my heart, but not on Unilocal

At first I was a bit skeptical since we were the only ones in the bar(there has to be a reason why no one is here right?) but what the hell… let’s have a drink and feel the place out. This bar turned out to be pretty darn cool so I’m really glad that I gave it a chance. The décor is a little trashy hence the name. They have stickers and license plates all over the walls and car seats for sitting. The pool table provides good entertainment but it would be nice if they had pool sticks that weren’t bent. There is also live music! There is a cover to enter the back room for the live music though. Oh and the drinks are reasonably priced. Will definitely come back to checkout a show.

«Is this where the cast of Girls hang out?» Well the creepers were in full tilt at this bar, so at least the name isn’t false advertising. Drinks are cheap. We played some intense games of Jenga and checked out a band and karaōke in the back room. I overheard one girl in the bathroom earnestly try to convince her friend that her eyes were even more of a piercing blue that night than any other night ever, no, like ever. This in addition to the great bathroom stall literature and watching a guy projectile vomit and stumble forward into the projectile vomit debris while it was still in the air… entertainment.

Came in to see a band then left. That said, this is only a review on the music quality. For a place that hosts shows regularly, why not invest in a decent sound system? One that doesn’t feel like you’re having your ears clawed out by cats, perhaps. $ 12 at the door is enough to turn a profit so why not ensure that people will go deaf, pleasantly instead of in a horrifying way? Had I known there were tater tots, my night probably would’ve been improved a little. Love the Christmas lights.

Darn… I wasn’t proofed. I was here to see a friend play, and was suitably impressed with the décor: * Car seats: Check * Disco ball: Check * Photo booth: Check Best thing about this place, though, is Foodswings is a block away. I was so happy to get the«4skins» and disco fries. Who cares about tater tots anyway; they’re probably microwaved.

Well, if you want to get called a «loser» for apparently not dressing up to Friday night at Trash Bar standards, definitely go here. Other things said to us included: «I didn’t realize the Beatles were playing here tonight.» And all this happened while the DJ was playing Aerosmith. Huh?
