This has usually been my go to coffee shop in the area. The owner as well as the baristas as of lately have been very pleasant. Unfortunately I have to update my review because I feel that the quality of the food is going down. The last couple of times I ate there I was not satisfied with my meal. I had a waffle with a side of bacon and a chai latte and it all came up to $ 16. The waffle was hard and the bacon was way overcooked however the cook decided that it was still appropriate to put it on my plate. On a previous visit In was told by an employee that they microwave their eggs. For the quality of food and the portions that you receive, this place is way overpriced. I’ll just stick to getting my chai latte. Also, the still have a $ 10 minimum for credit cards which is ridiculous considering there is plenty of competition in the area that do not have this inconvenient rule.

..this is the only coffee shop in the area that takes coffee«seriously» AKA can pull a quality espresso drink. Desert items are tasty, but regular food is average and overpriced. I live nearby, visit frequently, and I notice they have a lot of staff turnover. The result is very inconsistent customer service. For example, I recently placed an order with a computer under my arm then sat myself at the«bar» to enjoy my morning. And I DID enjoy myself for 30 minutes until the same person who took my order approached and placed a sign on my table that states«no laptops on Saturdays» and asked me to leave. CUSTOMERSERVICERULE #1 don’t take the customer’s money THEN inform them 30 minutes later about a policy prohibiting their behavior. And if you do, approach it from the position that you, the establishment made a mistake not informing the customer immediately. It creates the wrong perception. A perception that they are more than happy to take customer’s money THEN ask them to leave. Yes, this a very specific complaint to my one experience but every business needs to understand that you are either creating PROMOTERS or DETRACTORS each and every single time you interact with your customers. There’s a coffee shop directly across the street that embraces computer users throughout the week and TOT doesn’t seem to recognize that. It’s sad because I want quality coffee shops to succeed in the neighborhood.

Had a passion fruit tart. It was pretty ok. Then I tried the lemon bar and had to stop after the first two bites because it just tastes terrible. It felt like eating the bitter part of the lemon rind. The pastries were also expensive they both came out to $ 10.25. No thanks man. Not going back :/

A-OK. The food was fine and the beverages were good. The price points are on par with New York but maybe a little high for Crown Heights/PLG. I summarize my breakfast experience as coffee shop food at restaurant prices. I will go back if I want something to drink or a snack, but it won’t be my go to brunch spot.

Love this place. Great food prepared in house(sweet pumpkin muffins topped with salty seeds-yum!), the friendly staff, close to the park. Wish the dining room was a little bigger during the weekend brunch rush, otherwise as good as it get for a neighborhood joint.

The coffee and baked goods are consistently excellent, and the staff is almost always very friendly. Their brunch is also very good. For the neighborhood, this place is a boon.

Was in the neighborhood wondering around with my camera, taking pictures. Went in for a quick break and to warm up. They have your typical coffee shop selection with coffee, tea, and some baked goods. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. The staff was nice and friendly. I got a pumpkin muffin and Irish coffee and unfortunately both were lacking taste and not fresh.

I came here for a late breakfast but the kitchen was closed boo by 11am. I was about to leave but the cashier was like ‘really?’ you can like have the focaccia. Naïve me new to Brooklyn was like aight, I don’t see any other cool cafes nearby, might as well. I order the tomato onion focaccia and a cold stare aka a cold brew. Everything came out to almost $ 12. The focaccia was whatever and the cold brew tasted burnt. But at least I had decent wifi!

Stopped by for coffee which was good, but the banana bread and almond croissant were amazing.

Came to this cute little coffee shop with friends after a long walk through prospect park for some late breakfast. I believe everything here is made in house which really appealed to me. I got a fresh squeezed orange juice and a quiche with chorizo and red peppers. The juice was yummy, but the quiche could’ve used a little more seasoning for my taste. This place was also kind of a tight fit to sit down and eat our breakfast. They have roomier areas to sit in, but this place was pretty busy so I suggest getting here earlier in the day to get a good spot. Overall, I would go here again of the opportunity arises; however, I would get a pastry and I would probably get my food to go. If nothing else I’d enjoy a fresh squeezed juice from here.

They make the best caramel vanilla latte. The music selection is always just right. The staff is friendly but super cool about it; when they greet you there’s something genuine there… not a cheesy generic customer service«Hi». They seem pleased that customers are walking through the door. They check up on you from time to time. Good place. Good people. Everyone should go there all the time.

This place is super cute! Love getting coffee when I’m in the area by the park. Also the baked goods are pretty good — had a nice slice of lemon cake recent too!

The place is nice and the people behind the counter were nice. The barista was smart enough to ask if I wanted my chai iced or hot. The food is some what pricey. It is not extreme, but it does catch you off guard. I felt the drinks were market rates(probably not neighborhood rates, but in line with what I would expect to pay for what they are serving. I saw signs being removed for a no laptop policy during brunch. I believe that was till 1pm, though I was there after 1 and could not tell you anything about that. Be aware of the policy. Check out the funny sign about employees washing your hands in the bathroom.

If someone hands you a glass of water in the desert, you’re not going to to complain too much about the lack of tables to sit down or the screaming kids in the afternoon. Or maybe you would, if you were me. I like this place for sure. It’s got a warm rustic but chic feel. The wifi is spot on and it attracts the creatives from the neighborhood. They’ve got a really great food(which they prepare fresh in the kitchen!) and dessert menu, so you can have a meal here for sure. However, certain times of day I avoid this spot. In the afternoon the kids come through and it’s just a bunch of nonsense. Most of the baristas are beautiful and polite sometimes. I’ve run into one guy who tried to upsell me 3 times and then was disappointed when I only ordered a tea. The prices could reflect the pockets of the neighborhood better, but they are competitive with NYC coffee shop prices. South brooklyn is a kind of café desert, so this spot is literally a gem. I’d say it’s my go-to in the hood.

If you’re into the obnoxious, pretentious coffee shop scene, then this is absolutely the place for you! The first time I walked in to order a carton of coffee, this graying hair guy took down my number and said he’d call with options. He never did. I came back the next day to get a cappuccino and alert the guy that he never responded to my inquiry. He was the barista this time — he made zero eye contact and served my order only when he was finished with the people who ordered after me. Clearly, this guy is really important, so I am giving this coffee shop 4 stars because 1) it’s an honor to be serviced by such a gentleman 2) their beans are not bad and 3) I wouldn’t want to give the business owner a 1 star just because he hired the wrong person

I walked in last Sunday and, before placing my order, gave the blond hipster at the register a pretty big smile for that early in the morning and said, «Hey, how are you?» To which she replied ABSOLUTELYNOTHING as she waited for me to tell her my order. Who the fuck does that? I get that she’s probably hung over, but learn some manners. She was being pretty passive aggressive to the guy behind the coffee machine though, so perhaps she’s just a salty individual by nature. But she certainly should not be working in any capacity that requires interacting with others. I also cannot abide the pricing in this joint. My old coffee shop in Fort Greene, where my landlords basically doubled the rent on my apartment after I left, used to charge $ 3.50 for a 12-oz. latte(and still do). How is it $ 4 for a 8-oz. latte here? I really want to like this place, but I’m not all that inclined to go back.
