Food was just OK. There were flies flying around that was a turn off. Server was really nice.

Service was theeeeeeee worst. We had a party of 14, which was kinda big but does not justify the sucky service. The wait for drinks was unacceptable. That took like a half hour… smh. Usually you want to get those out quick at least. When our food arrived, after over an hour of waiting, everyone’s food was COLD. I do not know if they were understaffed, but you can’t pay me to sit through this experience again. The meal that came to me wasn’t even what I ordered. I asked for the NY Strip Salad which should have included baby arugula, cured tomato, marinated shallots and shaved parmesan, instead I received spinach covered in Italian dressing with my steak. I was also given a butter knife to use… The restaurant looked nice from the outside, but don’t be fooled and walk in there… No exaggeration in my comments. I do not usually write reviews. So the fact that I wrote this one means that I was very very very unhappy with the service. Maybe smaller parties have a better experience.

Great food horrible service! I came in on a Saturday night, the restaurant was not at all busy. I found my waitress to be inattentive and distracted by coworkers/personal conversations. I found myself constantly calling over other servers to provide to the basics, like a refill on water or for my drinks to be brought over from the bar after being prepared. If you still decide to give them a shot, order the mac & cheese! Good Luck!

It’s so sad this place has soooo much potential! This is my second time eating here, the first time I ate here the service was slow but it had just opened so I let it slide. Tonight however, me and my family came to celebrate Mother’s Day! One word«disaster». We were seated a little before 9:30pm the place was not overly crowded we only waited 5 minutes with no reservation. We sat for 30 minutes at a small cramped table for 2(they added chairs to seat 5 of us). I called for someone to please get a waiter to at least acknowledge us since nobody had even stopped at our table for half an hour! After a few minutes we got shay(only bright spot) she was good but seemed to be handling too much at once. We ordered appetizers that didn’t come out for an hour(after I complained again). the drinks were decent(they offer a great variety). Also We didn’t receive any forks or water until I complained multiple times!!! Now to the food! I actually gave one star because the food was delicious! Although it was good I don’t like waiting 2 hours for food with no update on what’s going on! By the time we got our food we packed it to go. We were just so fed up. It’s a shame because both times ive eaten here the food was great, but they need a more experienced staff and better time management

I’ve been to Trelawni Place in Brooklyn several times and they haven’t disappointed me. The food is exceptionally good, i had the Seafood Fettuccini and it was delicious and very satisfying. The service was good, atmosphere very relaxing and lot of parking is available on the street

The food was amazing. It’s a great place for hanging out with friends or a nice date. The service was good. Some people might think the menu is pricey, but the quality, quantity and ambience, its worth it. I would go back. I also never heard pf escovitch lobster until last night. It was so big, I had to take it home. The fish soup was seasoned well. The crabcake you can share and the steak was a pretty good cut.

I don’t write many reviews but this review I felt was newsworthy. I put together a birthday dinner party here for my coworker… Let’s begin with the initial meeting with George, — Me: Hi I’m interested in doing a birthday dinner March 12th6pm or 7pm for roughly 15 – 20 ppl. George: Come have a seat…*opens binder* just fill this out. I fill out the generic event form with my name, email, phone number, number of people(15 – 20), event date and occasion. Notices fine print in the bottom right hand corner, begins reading, George notices I’m reading, he interrupts stating«Don’t worry about that». MY mistake # 1, for not fully reading the fine print. I take a picture of the pre fix menus listed(see pic). Fast forward to a few days before the reservation, I received an invoice with the number of persons listed is 20,(although I stated I’m expecting 15 – 20), which in my opinion its fine to send an invoice for the max amount of ppl I stated I may expect. Fast forward to the day of the event, waiter brings me the bill. I immediately look at the balance and begin diving by the number of people there minus the birthday girl; the waiter mentions to me did you want to order the 4 additional plates to take with you. It is then that I notice I am being charged for 16ppl instead of for 12 people which was the amount of people present. George’s aura has never been genuine in my bones so I overlooked him and I went to the young lady at the front hostess station to inquire about the additional persons charge. She stated when you’re entire party doesn’t show, you are still responsible for 80% of the entire party. Back to my original mistake for not reading the fine print. And although the policy was never verbally communicated to me; this policy is completely fine in my book, expect for one factor: I never said I will have a party of 20. 16 is 80% of the 20. When I made the reservation, when asked how many people I said 15 – 20. George approaches myself and the young lady I was speaking to and questions what’s wrong. I said firstly I want to mention when I first sat down with you, as far as the fine print you said don’t worry about that. George begins to roll his eyes and deny any mention of him doing such thing. Me: That’s besides the point the policy is fine, but I never told you I will have 20 ppl. George: You told me 20. Me: I did not, I told you 15 – 20. George: No you did not, you told me 20. You told me 20.: Lightbulb! I remember I took a picture of the forms I filled out the initial day. I pulled up the picture which indeed showed I placed 15 – 20 for the number of people. Then his argument changed. George: Well I sent you an invoice and it said 20 people, if you knew 20 ppl weren’t gonna show you should have called. Me: I didn’t know who was going to and who wasn’t going to show that’s why I gave you a ball park range. Minimum 15 and the max 20. In the mist of me getting my point across George repeatedly raises his voice stating AYEAYEAYE. Then he states«so you want me to pay for these people out of my pocket?» Me: Please explain to me how a no show of 4 people was an inconvenience to you? Beside space which is barely arguable? George: Staff Me: I had ONE waitress for a large party George: 12 people is not a large party Me: Plenty of restaurants will consider any party over 8 or in some places 10 a large party. George: I own a few restaurants in the city, you don’t own any restaurants so you don’t know much. What is this? A young thing? AFTERTHATPARTICULARCOMMENT, I knew this review had to go up. Firstly I want to mention owning a restaurant doesn’t mean you know much. It means you knew how to apply for a loan and where to sign on the dotted line. George’s arrogant and ignorant attitude combined with his escalating volume shifts stating AYEAYEAYE, towards someone who is barely 5 ft was strongly uncalled for. The policy would make sense, if I reserved for 20ppl but I didn’t. George’s crook-ish ways will be his downfall. P. S. Despite this unfortunate mishap, Camille is an awesome waitress. She’s extremely attentive, very polite and informative. She’s great. The young lady with a short hair cut who was the hostess for the night was awesome as well! I didn’t catch her name but if you’re reading this remember you rock! And thank you guys(you and Camille) Oo so very much!

Horrible service never waited so long for a drink and then my appetizer and entrée came at the same time. My appetizer was oysters on the half she’ll. They actually had the nerve to tell me oysters take time to open. ½ dozen. Not to mention prices are ridiculous for what you are getting. Will never recommend this place to anyone. Would rather drive to doors and wait for a seat than come back here.

I came here twice and both times the food was not all that great! I had a surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend and I’m happy with the way they accommodated me. They allowed me to bring the cake earlier in the day so he wouldn’t know. I ordered the shrimp Alfredo and it was just ok. I have tasted their Mac and cheese and it’s way too cheesy. It doesn’t even look good. I also ordered a chicken salad the previous time I came and I had to send the chicken right back because it was not cooked. It tasted raw and was pink inside(ew)! There were some people who ordered the oxtail and liked it but it did not look like traditional oxtail. I’m surprised that certain things were not on the menu like curried goat. I probably won’t go back. The service was ok but unfortunately I love good food and didn’t think their food was all that

— I’d go more for the environment than the food — It’s a neat place to hang out with friends, or lime and enjoy the music. — If you’re lucky, u might be there on a live music night — As far as food goes, everything is middle of the road,

So this is my second time coming here. First time was when they first opened up. Service was a little offish but nothing too crazy. I decided to give them a try again today and it seems as though things have come together. I read the reviews before coming and it kinda threw me off but I decided to give them a try anyway. The service was great we were greeted and sat right away. The drinks were very tasty. For appetizers we had the jerk wings and coconut shrimp very flavorful. For dinner I had the oxtail, my mom had the curry shrimp and my cousin the jerk chicken. We enjoyed every bit of it. I would recommend this place as everything seem tasty and the people were friendly.

I’ve been thinking about going to Trelawney’s since it opened. From outside it looks interesting and inviting. When I stepped in my family and I were immediately greeted and seated by the hostess. The décor is very nicely decorated with large paintings. The food was very good, we had oxtails, seafood pasta, ceasar salad, wings and rolls. For dessert we had their signature cheese cake which was so good I came back the next day to pick it up. I would definitely reccomend this place. Minus one star for service that was lacking more towards the end of our meal and no water offered.

I had the pleasure of dining here with a very dear friend who raved about this place. The place is fairly new and is in an OK location. When we arrived there were probably just about 2 couples there. We went toward the back instead of being in the front area where it was a lil more private. We were attended to & served in a timely manner. I had the jerk chicken with rice & peas and my friend had the salmon. The jerk chicken was ok. Frankly I have tasted better and the rice and peas was umm meh. I realized that halfway through my meal that they never served the sweet plantains which they were supposed to be, so I proceeded to ask for it. It later came and they added a couple more pieces to compensate for the late serving. The drink I had was a mango margarita which wasn’t all that great to me either. My friend enjoyed the salmon as they were the one that had raved about the place. I find that the glass windows/doors can be tinted or have 1 way mirror giving those who are dining a bit more privacy. The place IS spacious and can one can host an event or a small gathering for like a birthday, bachelorette party or baby shower, even just friends getting together. While our tastes and views are definitely different, you should really check them out. The presentation of the food was great and I also got to meet and chat with the manager that evening.

Never again! We came here for Father’s Day. After leaving Suede because they had a one hour wait, we decided to come here because they said there was no wait. Psyche! We got here and waited 45 minutes just to get water. After I complained, our first course of salad came out… it had literally 25 green leaves and some olive oil. I was so hungry by that point I didn’t even bother to ask what happened to the ginger part of the dressing. None of the tables around us have food… they only have drinks. So we’ve now been here an hour… they brought my son his French fries, but not his wings. Soon after complaining our food started to roll out. They made a mistake with our appetizers and actually allowed us to keep the one they brought by accident: we had pineapple wings and callaloo egg rolls. The food was very fresh and tasty. The table was getting a bit crowded after our second course so I combined a few plates. The bus boy picked up the plates and then asked us to separate them so we could get our utensils. I told him to just bring us more… his response(with the deer in headlights look)? I don’t think we have anymore. Word?! You don’t have anymore forks?! Gtfohwtbs!!! Soooo eventually I got another fork and my food: braised oxtail with rice and peas and vegetables. It was very decent, but I was not in love. The food was definitely fresh and tasty, but didn’t have enough gravy. My mom got salmon and loved it. Overall it was a pretty good meal, but the meal definitely took too long. They ran out of vanilla ice cream at 4:30 and that was one of the price fixe choices. Smh. I’m so over this place :( Jesus they added in a 15% tip! I’m going to jail.

I have to give it 5 stars! My experience was great! As soon as my sister and I walked in we were seated. I love the ambiance and set up of the restaurant, very spacious! Our waiter, KC was very attentive to us and very professional! We started with appetizers… I ordered the Spinach Spring Rolls and my sister ordered the Tropical Barbecue Wings. It was all delicious! For the entrees my sis ordered the Cajun Salmon on top of Sweet Potatoes and some kind of sauce(delicious). I ordered the Bass with sautéed Spinach and Croutons(very tasty as well). For drinks we went with Hurricanes. Trelawnie’s menu is very limited and a bit pricey, however despite that we enjoyed ourselves and would definitely revisit. Once again Kudos to KC! He is a very good waiter! Definitely caters to the customers.

So it seems like have been trying out Resto’s that are closer to my neck of the woods Seafood lately, meaning 10 to 20 minutes away… After church we decided to try Trelawni Seafood & Bar Grill… I have to say when I first walked in during the day — the open space in the bar area was not inviting. I mean — the décor during the day was lacking… the open space has potential during the day — it need more to make it cozy…(that is important). Then I walked into the dining area in the back which was little more cozy, there were booths and more of a décor — with a yellow gold wall color. Now at night I hear that it looks a little different. However, more effort needs to go to what it looks like during the day. OK enough about the décor… Anywho — let me get to the food… The food was good and tasty. We started out with the Tropical BBQ wings and Pineapple Jerk wings. First thing that I must say the BBQ and Jerk wings are grilled and NOT fried — MAJORPLUS for my new eating habits… LOL! The wings were so tender and falling off the bones — Perfect! I preferred the Tropical BBQ wings… Also my friend tried the Jamaican Crawler Cocktail — Ladies and Gents — That drink is the TRUTH! Main Entrée: Cajun Salmon with two servings of Spinach — The Cajun Salmon was good — but not great… it was cool… the spinach was really good and flavorful… Curry Shrimp — that dish was really delicious… My and my friends will definitely be back to try the other dishes… Also this Resto is on the pricey side… For a menu this pricey… The owner must invest in the décor to make customers feel like they are stepping into a venue that values its presence. Also the staff hanging out in the dining room by the empty bar like space is a BIGNONO… For a pricey resto — more needs to go into Staff, dining room ettiquette… etc. The 4 stars go to the food 2 stars to the décor… 2 stars to the waiting staff etiquette… I do think the food is too pricey for the area…

Great spot off on Utica Ave! I made my way to Sunday brunch after church service. WARNING if you are not a social person please skip brunch. As soon as we walked in we were introduced to everyone there! Apparently it was the owner’s friend ‘s birthday. The restaurant was divided into two long tables with additional seating by the bar and outer perimeters of the space. I’m kinda socially akaward so I felt a little of out of place. Not sure it they do the«family brunch» thing often but it’s not my thing. Don’t get me wrong it may just of been that Sunday. Hey if you don’t mind so won’t I! I ordered the tilapia with waffles. It took about 20 minutes to come out. It was great! The waffles were a bit too tough but overall cool. I support local businesses so I will be returning!

On approaching the restaurant I noticed outdoor seating. Though it’s cold this time of the year, I still like having that option. Inside is nice and airy. I’ll describe it as elegantly casual. We were seated at a table of our choice by their pleasant hostess. Our server then approached and on noticing I was rubbing my hands together asked if we would prefer to be seated at the back as it was warmer. Both booths and tables were available at the back. I was pleased when I found out our waiter Makesi was a fellow Trini(citizen of Trinidad and Tobago) as his attitude is exactly what most of us Trinis are known for. During our entire dinning experience he went above and beyond, even going to the back to make a drink we ordered. He was knowledgeable, courteous, professional and 100% Trini! Both their food and drink menus seemed to be Caribbean inspired. Our calamari was as soft and as tasty it should be. Our medium-well grass fed jerk rib eye hit the spot and our portions so large we had leftovers. Their mac and cheese and mashed potatoes are to die for! From the taste and presentations I saw coming out to other diners, I’ll swear that their chef knows his/her stuff. The bus-persons were on point and not once did we have to search the area for service/attention. I highly recommend Trelawni Place Seafood! I will be coming back and telling everyone I know to try here! The End

This was my pick for girls afternoon and I am officially winning! Trelawni Place welcome to the neighborhood! It is very rare that I give a place 5 stars but I honestly don’t have anything negative to dish. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. There was no wait for a Saturday afternoon. Our waitress Stacey was sweet and informative. There was nice old school r&b playing as well as reggae. Love! This place was very clean and spacious. My group was able to choose our seating. We opted for the outdoor seating due to the fantastic weather. There is not much presentation at the tables but you can tell a lot of work was put into this establishment. It’s a simple décor but looks very trendy and modern at night. There are tv’s at the bar area which would make great for grabbing a drink and watching a game. The alcoholic drinks were decent and the fruit punch was a sweet surprise. The food was very good. Thumbs up to the chefs. My oxtails were seasoned perfectly and not to spicy. The meat melted off the bone. Rare you can eat oxtails with just a fork and not your fingers. My girlfriends all raved about their food as well. The bread pudding was delicious! While your other local Caribbean spots are diminishing in quality and packed, go over to Trelawni Place you won’t be disappointed.
