For a first timer in the city found this spot on Unilocal and it didn’t disappoint. Visited in the late afternoon /early evening hours. Staff very friendly. Sat at the bar and had Arlo as our server and bartender. He was awesome! The food came out in a timely manner and the food was great! Will come back again on the next visit. Thanks for a good experience.

One of the best burgers I had in a long time. I highly recommend the lamb burger that comes with tzatziki sauce. Will definitely come back again!

I should have went for the 50⁄50 burger. The lamb burger was good but not great and the Greek fries weren’t the best I’ve ever had. Not sure why this place is rated so highly it reminded me of Johnny Rockets but without the kick ass milkshakes.

What is it with NY and their tiny burgers with humongous price tags. When you charge $ 10 for a burger, you’re setting the expectations pretty high(even for NY), and this place definitely falls short. Their namesake burger was pretty bland, not sure what the two8two sauce was supposed to taste like. All I tasted was a cheeseburger with poblano chiles. The feta on the Greek fries also lacked any tang and just served to mute the flavor of the fries. Most of it ended up left on the plate and not in the stomach =(.

Burgers sucked I also felt rushed. I won’t be going back. Try the burger club, if you don’t mind traveling and are looking for a really good burger.

best burger in Brooklyn. we rediscovered this place a few months ago and haven’t looked back since. everything is perfect, every time — from the cook and juiciness of the meat to the toasted-on-the-inside-but-not-on-the-outside bun. the poblano peppers and 282 sauce are absolutely amazing and seal the deal every time. I recommend the 282 burger and the Billy burger. best of all the staff is friendly and accommodating, and service is excellent. grateful for this neighborhood joint.

Really good burger here. The net/net is that it’s cooked to order fairly perfectly and comes out looking good and not dilapidated and, really, what more could you ask of a burger place? We ordered 2 Pub burgers — grilled onions, cheddar cheese, bacon on top, with their version of ketchup/mayo(2−8−2 sauce). Inhaled. Gone. Never to be seen again. The menu is short and concise, which I appreciate. Get the onion rings, skip the regular fries. Outdoor seating with shade! We didn’t have cocktails, but everyone around us did and boy, they are small. Very small.

Absolutely delicious burgers! I had the billy burger(fried onions, cheddar, house sauce) and sweet potato fries. Husband had the breakfast burger and fries. We were blown away by how great the food is. Very straightforward and inexpensive. If I wasn’t pregnant I would have loved to sample some craft cocktails! Service was fast and effective. Our waters were refilled multiple times! All in all a great dining experience!

Came with a group for a quick bite. Casual setting, family friendly restaurant with a bar. Wasn’t too hungry so I decided to split an order of nachos with my cousin. The $ 11 nachos was an $ 11 cold mess. $ 11 of disappointment. It seemed as if the nachos were made first, sat on the kitchen counter until the rest of my group’s food finished and was brought out all at once. The unattractive dish was placed in front of us. From the cold cheddar cheese, tortilla chips in a combination of both stale and soggy, poor distribution of the beef, to the thin layer of salsa or pico de gallo(couldn’t identify)…should have ordered the protein burger. I watched my co-worker enjoy it. Another thing, the hyper waiters would constantly bug us by refilling our waters, even immediately after I took my first sip. I wish my first experience at two eight two was as exciting as people recommended.

Well. a friend and I visited this place to catch up and grab a bite. We walked in around 5pm on a Thursday evening, place was pretty empty(except for the bar seating). we were seated in the very back of the restaurant, which almost kinda looked like somebody’s living room. Décor: It’s alright, it has more of a «homey» feel to it, almost like you’re in somebody’s house; it can feel like your basic run-of-the-mill pub/bar to grab a beer and a good burger. Food: We both ended up getting the classic two8two burger as recommended by a lot of Unilocal reviews. The burger was cooked well, the toppings were on point but I guess my only complaint was that the size was a little dinky! It also doesn’t come with fries either, you have to order all sides separately. We ordered a side of greek fries which were just OK; it was essentially just regular fries topped with some cubed feta cheese(not melted or any kind of sauce on top). Next time, I’d probably opt for regular fries. Service: decent. seemed very rushed to get us out of there. Overall, we didn’t order any drinks this time we went, but might be a place to come after work with some friends to grab a beer.

«You think it’s weird, right?» the manager demanded. «No,» I said. «No,» my friend said. «It’s a little weird,» my other friend offered. «It’s weird, right?» the manager asked again. «For a burger place to not have barbecue sauce, right? We have ketchup. We have sriracha mayo. We have honey mustard. But it’s weird, right? No barbecue sauce.»

The burgers are top notch, but I HATE when places advertise lunch specials only to have you go in and realize that the lunch special sucks. There’s an $ 8 hamburger and fries special posted on the board outside. When we were seated we learned that it wasn’t their regular hamburger and side of fries, but a SMALLER side of fries. So annoying. Why do that? It just makes me mad! Let us have our $ 1.50 savings that you tempted us into you restaurant with. Cheapskate rant aside, the burgers are good, but you have to pay for each additional topping(ok, I guess rant not over). Small space. Bar setting. They DO have high chairs though!

Nice spot for lunch with a full bar and decent amount of tables. It’s rarely ever super crowded so there’s never a wait for a table and the food comes out quick. I often get the lamb burger which is fresh ground and seasoned with spices and topped with house made tzatziki(white sauce), paired with fries. It’s delicious and filling too. On days in he summer when I’m not that hungry I’ll grab a BLT that ones with«two8two» sauce on it, idk what’s in that stuff but it’s so good. I’ve tried several drinks on the menu also. They run a margarita special during happy hour; classic margarita on the rocks for $ 6, it’s pretty solid. Some of my other favorites are the«Jalapeño margarita» which has a nice kick to it if you like spicy drinks, «Across Smith Street» which is a decently strong bourbon cocktail and for the lighter days when seeking something refreshing the«Bourbon limeade» I’d recommend.

So my first visit to Two 8 Two was for a BK Unilocal event back in 2011! Since then I’ve passed by often enough but never stopped in for a meal. Until last week. Hubs and I were out and about and decided we needed burgers. Stopped in around 8pm to a semi crowded dining room but were seated right away. I had remembered the place being cozy but that’s to be expected when a gaggle of Unilocal Elite peeps come for dinner. I wasn’t expecting it to be as cozy when we came back. Our table was close enough to the next that if I wanted to try one of their fries I wouldn’t of had to stretch very far. Luckily our dinner neighbors were chill. And so was the rest of the place. Chill staff, chill vibe. I wrote in my event review that the burgers ‘weren’t my favorite in the city’ and that still holds true. If I’m going to go out for dinner I want to leave full or at least full-ish. Not gut busting but satisfied. When Hubs and I left Two 8 Two we both had the same thought — ‘I’m going to be hungry again in an hour.’ I’m not sure what the problem is either — I wish I could pinpoint the issues with my burger but I can’t! My turkey burger was seasoned really well, was cooked perfectly* and diameter-wise was larger than its bun. The cheese was good, the bacon was good, the house sauce was good, even the shredded lettuce was a nice addition to the burger. But I left hungry. I left wanting more. I left thinking about food options near our next destination. Maybe others will have more success with Two 8 Two than I did. Maybe I’ll visit again at some point and see if I can figure out why I don’t love the place like so many others do. *Cooked completely and remained juicy!

You can come for drinks, you can come for dinner, or can come for both! There is a nice bar with decent taps at the front, and a quiet dining room in the back, this place will fit whatever party you come here with. We opted to be in the back so we can sit down and eat across from one another. We were surprised to see 3 families with small children already situated in the back even though we just passed about 6 people drinking at the bar. This is already a good sign! We didn’t take very long looking at the menu at went with their signature burger, Greek fries, and blackened chicken sandwich. The signature burger came in at a good price and just the right size, topped with poblano chiles, cheddar and their own sauce. The burger looked delicious, smelled amazing, and(luckily) tasted fantastic! Since the burgers don’t come with sides, we shared a Greek fries order and was also thrilled at its flavor, crispiness, and perfect seasoning. One of us didn’t feel like burger night so I ordered the blackened chicken sandwich topped with bacon, cheddar, and their sauce. This, too, was another surprise in flavor and presentation. The pictures really don’t do it justice as the sandwich came out hot and enticing. The chicken was not dry at all, nor was it greasy. The bacon was crispy and their signature sauce just tied the whole sandwich together so well. There isn’t much to complain about at this restaurant, everyone should give it a try when you’re in the area for a nice, tasty burger.

This was my first time staying in Brooklyn for the New York City Marathon and I was looking to eat a good burger and a beer the night before the race. It would turn out that they had some good beer on draft. I ended up ordering the pub burger and it was good. If you want fries with your burger, it can be added as a side for an extra $ 3.50. There’s a fairly small bar section with a couple of TV’s just as you enter. Even though I was by myself, it was a bit early for dinner, so I ended up getting a table in the back where there’s many tables. *Founders oatmeal stout nitro* I love a good oatmeal stout and the nitro version is almost always better. This was a good beer to go with any burger. *Pub burger* This was a nice delicious bacon cheese burger with lots of grilled onions. This was one of the better burgers that I’ve eaten in my journey. *Side of Fries* A bit pricey for a side, but I just couldn’t eat a burger without some fries. I’m used to eating at most places where fries are included. Overall, their burger was good enough that I would not hesitate to come back here if I’m ever staying in Brooklyn again.

Being a newbie to the neighborhood, I was having a hard time finding a place to have lunch one day. For some odd reason, nothing in the area seemed appealing, and whatever did seem interesting turned out to be insanely busy(it was a Sunday afternoon, after all). This place doesn’t really scream«prime burger joint» as you walk in because of the bar. It seemed to be a favorite in the area because it seemed a little busy on Sunday afternoon. It wasn’t a big deal, though, because towards the back of the restaurant, there are several tables and even a backyard. It was dim, but well lit from natural lighting. Before looking at the menu, I prepared myself for the guilt I would feel all week from eating a bar cheeseburger(Carbs, carbs, fat, deliciousness!), however, I was surprised that they offered a healthier option called the two8two protein burger. The burger may look small when you get it, but it’s satisfying. Whenever I feel like indulging, I’ll definitely come back.

I stumbled upon two8two on a Friday night with my boyfriend after our plans to see an amazing comedy show got cancelled.(The only reason this is relevant is because I was really unhappy with the way our night started to turn out and where ever I went had to be at least decent without me ripping off some heads.) Ok, so the important stuff — burgers, fries, good drinks. We both got the breakfast burger which had egg and bacon on it. The burgers look smaller than a normal burger joint but they are more than filling. Everything was juicy and delicious. I got the sweet potato fries and my boyfriend got the onion rings — both awesome. He originally wanted regular fries and it was just a good mistake I guess. For drinks — I got the seasonal cider and he got a bourbon lemonade. I’m not a bourbon fan and that was also very good. Mixed drinks were only $ 8 — which for the city, was really reasonable. The place wasn’t crowded at all, we got a seat right away without reservations and even after dinner there were plenty of seats open at the bar to watch the basketball game. All in all, I definitely recommend.

With a bar in the front, a cozy dining area in the back, and a solid burger menu to boot, Two 8 Two was an easy dinner choice for my girlfriend and I last night. It was a little awkward when three of my students and their families showed up at the neighboring tables at the same time our cocktails arrived, but a few sips in, I managed to forget about them. She ordered the Cuzco Fizz, which was strong and tart enough to cause our lips to pucker after every sip. My own drink, the Across Smith Street, was just as strong but sweetened with the help of a splash of pineapple juice. Not long after, our burgers were ready. She’d gone with the two8two burger figuring«anytime a restaurant puts its own name into an entrée, it must be good». Though a little small for my taste, it was a decked out burger with roasted chiles, cheese, and a dribble of their signature sauce. My own choice, the veggie burger, arrived with an unusual presentation. Apparently, the patty was too big for the bun so they cut it up into slices and stacked them on top of each other which made for a pretty tall burger once the tomatoes and lettuce were added. I was already mentally drafting notes about the erratic presentation but it was all squelched by the first bite. This was a damn fine burger. The patty had been nicely seared on the grill so there was a delightful crunch with each bite, and I have no idea what they put into that signature two8two sauce but it was tasty and reminded me of the sauce slathered in Big Macs… in the best way possible. Along with their thin-cut, skin-on french fries, this was a truly good meal. And if I can say that about the vegetarian burger, I’m sure they know their way around their meat options too. Service was spot on, with our waiter checking on us neither too much or too little and topping off our water glasses whenever they ran low. The only drawback I can think of is that pickles do not come with your burger, and asking for them will get you two spears of pickles and cost you an extra 50 cents, as will as extra lettuce and tomato. But, folks, this is Brooklyn Heights, where even breathing the air will cost you something. Other than that, we enjoyed a great meal here and would definitely return again.

This place can definitely give any other burger joint a run for their money. Perfectly cooked burgers with exceptional sides, every time! It’s a medium sized space with the bar in front, tables in the rear, and a lovely garden area out back for warm weather dining and drinking. It starts to get very busy around happy hour and dinner time. The service is consistently speedy and attentive. I’m not quite sure the 1st time I ever had a lamb burger but every time I have the lamb burger here it feels like the very 1st time. I crave it often. This burger is the juiciest and most flavor bursting burger I’ve ever had in my life. The tzatziki sauce compliments the flavorful burger perfectly. The sides are awesome as well. The Greek fries which are topped with feta cheese are excellent! Next time I’m in I want to try the chili cheese fries.

Came here Saturday July 4th to grab something quick to eat before catching the fireworks by the Brooklyn pier, it’s 4th of July why not eat a burger and we want something quick, why not! Well, it took too long, place was half empty and medium burgers usually take around 10 minutes to grill(things you learn when you used to work in a steak restaurant). We got the 50⁄50 burger which is half beef and half apple wood bacon with poblano chiles — this was A-OK, though it would be better. The Billy burger — this was wayyyy better, the right ingredients and it was juicier than the 50⁄50 burger. For sides we got regular fries and sweet potato fries. For drinks we got the classic blood orange margarita, I must say that it taste close to the ones that I make. Overall review: burgers are the size of shake shacks and it’s not too big, go for the sweet potato fries as a better option. Ask for extra Two8Two sauce on the side and the blood orange margarita is a must try.
