I used to think BBQ chicken was a pointless endeavor.
My mind is changed.
I want this chicken. I crave it. I praise it.
Thank you, Uncle Bones. Thank you for opening my head, heart and body to this avian delicacy. I dream about the smoky, tender meat. And the hot sauce and ranch that accompany it. Please take up shop in Prospect Heights so my fatness can become more convenient.

Heard this was a good spot for BBQ on Thursdays and Fridays and sort of didn’t believe it at first. Was MORE than pleasantly surprised by the unique and tasty pulled pork sandwich. Mac and Cheese was great too. Get this guy a restaurant!

Came to the Gibson’s specifically to have Uncle Bones BBQ — and he did not disappoint! Loved the pulled pork sandwich — wouldn’t call it southern style because the emphasis is more on the flavor and sauce rather than the tenderness of the meat. Coleslaw on top adds a nice crunch and he’s got an array of toppings/​flavorings to add on the sandwich. But you really gotta respect a guy who’s got passion in his BBQ. Also had the mac and cheese which was REALLY delicious — very cheesy and had a hint of cayenne. If I lived in the neighborhood I would definitely frequent Uncle Bones on Thursdays and Fridays (when he serves his BBQ). Go for it!

Uncle Bones BBQ fish tacos are SOO freakin good. He makes them on Tuesdays at The Gibson back patio in Williamsburg. Coming from Texas and growing up on Mexican food, I find these pretty damn awesome. He BBQs the fish with hickory wood chips for flavor… he makes his own sauces from scratch, and everything is just super fresh. You’d never expect this in the back patio of a bar in Brooklyn! Great hidden find!

The fish tacos are the best… I will happily eat here with friends and family, and the owner is incredibly nice and helpful. Let’s not forget to mention the BBQ, wow. What more can I say, try it out.
