Food, service and ambience are all just… meh. I feel like this place belongs in a small-town strip mall. Why go here when you can go to other superb(and cheaper) Thai restaurants nearby?!

Cute little place. Very friendly service. Decent prices. Ordered the pad thai and it was good– not my favorite EVER, but I enjoyed it.

Nice, cozy place. Never too crowded and open pretty late. We have always had great meals here. The soup options are delicious and all of the mains are wonderful. I highly recommend the seitan as your protein, even if you are not a vegetarian. The only thing I don’t recommend here is getting drinks. The wine is highly over priced(they serve Jacob’s Creek), as are the other drinks. The staff is super friendly and the place is always clean.

Watana is back! I used to order from this place once a week until their food just started to taste different all of the sudden; it went from great to not good. I was disappointed. That was late 2010. Fast forward to last month when I decided to try this place out after a long break. The same delivery guy that I remembered appeared on my door step after 30 minutes with a smile and«long time no see!». I was surprised that he remembered me. He basically told me that they changed the chef a while ago, but customers did not like the food, so they brought a new chef who would cook with original Watana recipes. After inhaling the food, I could say that everything was delicious as how I remembered! Vegetarian Pad Ki Mow and Pad See Ew were full of flavor and loaded with fresh veggies such as broccoli, string beans, and carrots. Thai Spring Roll was crisp and succulent. I love that their food is delicious without being too salty or greasy. I have not dined here for more than 2 years so I cannot comment on the dining experience, but it is definitely a solid place for Thai food delivery when you have the craving!

Stay away from the«Peanut butter chicken» lol umm i mean the«Chicken Breast smothered in «Peanut Sauce» gross! It tasted like chicken smothered in HOT peanut butter. That was my order, but i had to trade plates with my date, he ordered the Basil Chicken! The Basil Chicken is so good! It’s tender chicken chunks in a spicy marinade with red, green peppers, onions… Delicious! Friendly and attentive wait staff. Perfect restaurant for a 1st date, its quiet and dimly lit. you can actually hold a conversation there :)

Watana is in our neighborhood, and one of those places my husband and I always walked by and said we should try sometime. Well, on a recent rainy Sunday afternoon we actually followed up on that plan, and I’m really glad we did! I agree that the menu can be a bit confusing to wade through, but we found our way and loved everything we ordered! I had the pineapple fried rice with chicken and was doing a little happy dance in my seat. My husband had a grilled salmon dish, and he said that it was very tasty. We shared an app of spring rolls and we found them to be delightful. Service was friendly and prompt. Halfway through the meal we’d already made the decision to return. We had a great time, a lovely meal, and it made a somewhat dreary day a little brighter. It’s that simple. :-)

Today was my first meal at Watana, and I’m sorry to say it was probably the last. First of all, the menu is a joke. It’s horribly laid out and confusing, and I’ve navigated my way through some ridiculously byzantine menus before. This one is by far the worst I’ve seen. The chicken satay was… competent, but nothing worth writing home about. Both the peanut and cucumber sauces had a strange, perfumey note to them… not entirely unpleasant, but it threw me off. The scallion pancakes were interesting… much, much thicker than Chinese style scallion pancakes. Very crispy(fried) on the outside, but with a creamy middle(some would say mushy). The flavor, however, was quite good. All in all, they were the highlight of my evening. Spring rolls were utterly uninteresting, as was the sauce. It tasted exactly like the bottled chili garlic sauce I have at home. Coincidence? On a strange note… after taking the order, the waitress returned to inform us that they didn’t have any shrimp shumai… then 5 minutes later she came back to tell us they found some(?!). Strange. The shrimp and chicken pad thais were unbearably sweet… cloying. I had to douse it with lime to counteract the treacliness. Stir-fried basil shrimp was pretty good, but nothing you couldn’t put together at home in just a few minutes. Chicken in green curry sauce was also alright, if predictable. The service is poor… the waitress filled our water glasses once and didn’t return until I flagged her down. I’d expect more attentive service at such a small place, especially since it wasn’t crowded at all.

Watana is my 2nd favorite place for Thai in Brooklyn. I love their décor — dark woods with hints of gold and the service is always tender and friendly. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside… The dish that draws me back again and again is their Me-shoo Salmon. It’s served in a pink curry sauce that I just want to drink gallons of!!! Sweet and spicy! With julienned veggies and white rice — but I always get the brown rice. Thai Spring Rolls are tasty. Fried Calamari and Chicken Satay also make my list on «what to get». I plan on going back again soon and trying some other dishes that they have. I’ve seen other people order the soups and they always look so so so gooooood!!! If you’re ever in the neighborhood, give it a try… Peace!

I will tell you the story of how Watana Siam saved my life. I’d jogged around Prospect Park for longer than usual and, upon returning home, noticed that my perception’d become hazy, and my sight, dim. The sounds of jingling dog leashes and children laughing in the distance oozed passed my ears in slow motion. My heart beat yielded to the growl of my stomach as I struggled to hurry home. I slid my key in the lock, swung through the door, and lunged through the hallway and into the kitchen. I stopped short in front of the fridge, yanked its door open, and gasped at the lurid sight: only condiments and cobwebs occupied its empty, fluorescent space. I didn’t know what to do. I fell to the floor and pulled myself atop the kitchen tiles to the drawer that held the take-out menus. I grabbed a stack of them out and strained my focus to read the names of the restaurants. Kiku was out of the question; they’d kicked my sushi-loving soul to the very back of the bankruptcy line. Red Hot was raunchy and overly-ordered from. I let go of the stack and dropped my head in defeat. But just then, as the menus spread themselves out across the floor, one menu in particular shined a sharp and lucid light at me. I pulled myself over the menu and read its wondrous words; Watana. I was saved by the Crispy Basil Red Snapper. The warm, creamy coconut curry and crushed peanuts made me feel taller than the Kalamona trees of Thailand. Bubbling beneath the sauce was the secret that set my soul on fire. Its flame spun around under my knees, zig-zagged through my thighs, and danced the Teut-Teung around the trampoline of my diaphragm. My arms, chest, and face flushed crimson as my soul’s ailments exuded themselves up and away. In a matter of minutes, I was revitalized and rejuvenated. And then I knew that with every chew, I’d come closer to the ultimate explanation: not only was this exuberant dish the spice-cialty of Watana; it was the artwork of an aesthetic arsonist. Suck it, Song.

Two words: Food Poisoning. My boyfriend and I ordered delivery from here late on a Sunday night. We couldn’t get through to our usual Thai place(Song), so we decided to give Watana a shot. Horrible idea. I ordered the Shrimp Curry, my boyfriend got the Chicken Massaman. Both tasted mediocre but I was hungry enough to eat the majority of my plate. We both felt like we had a bit of an upset stomach after we finished eating. I ended up getting HORRIBLE food poisoning. Maybe it was just bad luck with this one shrimp order, but I don’t recommend Watana and I certainly will never try it again.

Watana is our new thai ish!!! Things we love: — the pineapple fried rice w/chicken and shrimp(their special!) –pad see ew… SOGOOD!(i was not so much a fan of the way they prepared their tofu, but all of the veggies and meat were fabulous! my girlfriend thought the tofu was ok, but i prefer the other toppers over that) –fried calamari starter was delish as well! prices were very reasonable for everything we got! All in all… I LOVETHISPLACE!

My current favorite thai restaurant in Park Slope… and considering how many thai restaurants are in Park Slope at the moment I’d say that’s a fairly good recommendation. Best pad-see-ew this side of the slope for sure, and there’s a good appetizer of beef strips on a big hot stone of which I forget the name… The place itself is very nice looking, good ambiance and lots of wood detailing. It’s a tiny bit more expensive than other places in the area but hey, as long as it hits the spot.

We have eaten here several times and have yet to order something we didn’t like. They seem like a deal considering the meat quality has always been high and the vegetables are very fresh. The inside is nicely decorated and comfortable. The service has always been great — just enough, but not too much. I don’t think we have ever had to wait for a table and it seems like it could be good for large groups. Some of our favorites include the spring rolls(small but good), chicken basil, chicken with cashew, and beef in oyster sauce. We are always interested in so many other things on the menu that we have never actually order pad thai here. I think I want to marry the shrimp with black pepper — amazing.

I really wanted to love this place as it delivers to Windsor Terrace. But the food is inconsistent at best. You can really rate a thai place on an american staple of thai food — pad thai. It is really hard to get this dish wrong… and they did… a couple times. I kept ordering from them thinking it would get better. The last time I ordered from them is was so bad I had to throw it away — I think that the tofu was rotten. And the search for thai delivery continues.

The whole table was asked what kind of rice we wanted. No charge was mentioned. It ended up being an additional $ 10 for rice. I had sweet and sour tofu. There was no actual tofu in the dish(it was mock duck) and only a few pieces of cucumber, tomato and pineapple. It was a big portion, but mostly mock duck, which I did not order and did not particularly want. The sauce wasn’t anything special either. The verdict of the others with me seemed to be «ehh» to «okay» … not sure what they had exactly, but curry chicken puffs, shrimp, salmon, green vegetable curry and something else… maybe beef? were had.

This must be one of the most satisfying places to get Thai in Brooklyn. **Note: The food has been inconsistant(I digress). Last time I ordered the food was too salty to consume.

We were walking down 7th avenue, looking for somewhere to eat. We weren’t craving anything in particular, so we checked out the menu at Watana. Walking in, there was no one else in the restaurant which isn’t always a good sign, but we had already committed. We were going in. I got the Pad-Ki-Mow with tofu, and it was perfectly spicy. Enough to make me reach for my water a few times, but not too much so that I couldn’t enjoy the dish. Perfect. My boyfriend got the Pad Thai with chicken, which smelled amazing and apparently had the taste to match. I would absolutely go back, and even consider getting it delivered. Thai food is a new option in my repetoire, and I’m glad to find somewhere close by that does it so well. This was one of those times where an empty restaurant was a hidden gem. So why only four stars? After we got our food, our waiter was pretty scarce, despite the emptiness of the place. Despite the fact that I didn’t drink down my water in two seconds flat, it would have been nice to get a refill halfway through my spicy meal.

This is definitely an above average thai place. Lately, I’ve been a little iffy on thai because some of my usual places have been slipping. My best friend, who rarely wants thai food, suggested we go to Watana. I had been there over two years ago(on said friend’s birthday) and although I remember liking it, it didn’t really stand out enough to make me go back on my own. I’ll most likely be going back. I ordered my usual pad thai and a salad with peanut sauce. The peanut sauce was great, but the lettuce(iceberg) was terrible – even worse than iceberg usually is. My bf ordered the chicken peanut, which was basically a piece of chicken smothered in peanut sauce on top of watercress. Delicious. My best friend ordered a spicy noodle dish, and her bf also ordered pad thai. We were all pleased with our dishes.

Lost it’s luster :(I went to this place a year ago and loved it. I brought my family here(it was their first time having Thai food) and I was embarrassed! We ordered a bunch of different things and none of them were good. The curry puffs tasted old. The Chicken Satay was not fresh. The Pad Thai was barely ok. The pineapple rice was less than warm and tasted old. The back room which I remembered to be like an indoor garden was closed and looked condemned. The service was ok but I had to repeat everything 4 or 5 times because the waitress didn’t speak English at all. You would think a waitress would be familiar with«Can you wrap these up to take home?» …she had no idea what I was asking for. Needless to say I’m done with that place and had to swear to my family that Thai food is actually really good.
