It was ok but not like the other Italian sub shop’s I’ve tried. Probably wouldn’t eat their again. Honestly had higher expectitations for this place. Service was fast and everything was fresh but very lite on the meat.

The chicken noodle soup is the bomb here! The chicken wings were good but a bit too oily. The mozzarella sticks were good but not hot so I had to heat it up. The shrimp parm was delicious but I was surprised the bread wasn’t toasted. Overall, a good place if you want delivery around Bergen Beach.

Only little market in immediate area. Food is fresh and they have good hot food and cold cuts too. Super expensive and always a line. For me a last resort on my way home to grab something quick…

Wilkins Deli is great go to spot for your sandwich fix! They have over 50 different sandwich combinations on the menu. Whether it’s a hot sandwich or cold one– Wilkens delivers what you want. Wilkens does not have table & chairs for you to enjoy your food, so be prepared to take everything to-go. They also offer hot dishes & have some ready to-go salads. Any other deli needs you have, the counter help is there ready to help you. Wilkens is located in a residential area so get your GPS ready!

Best deli in Brooklyn hands down. The subs are massive and the burgers. Sheeesh. You must try for yourself. Everything on the menu is great. You won’t regret it.

Went here for lunch 3 times and all three times they totally messed up my sandwich. And I never modified it any differently than the menu says. Horrible.

Awesome food. Great service. Everything a deli should be. Came here around noon for lunch and there was a line. I thought it was going to take forever but it was about 5 minutes to order and have my sandwich done and ready to go. The biggest surprise was they give you a free cup of soup with your sandwich order. Definite plus as the soup was AMAZING! And the sandwich was huge, I could only finish half of it. I will definitely be stopping back the next time I’m in the area for work.

Wilkins is successful by default in an otherwise remote section of Bergen Beach. Their food is good(but not superb). And every order takes longer than expected to complete. That being said, they still suffice as an adequate stop for heroes, cold cuts, cold salads, and hot dishes. I typically(somehow) spend $ 25-$ 40 on every visit.

Excellent deli. They have a large selection of prepared foods and their sandwiches are great. Nice Italian specialties also. Huge potions and great prices– if only I had a place like this in my neighborhood Chelsea.

So I use to go here for grilled cheese when I use to work across the street in 2006. Here is is 2014& the grilled cheese is still yummy w/cheese dripping out of the sides…

Although they Are slow and crazy expensive for basics, the selection and quality/freshness is very good. I avoid shopping here because it usually has a line and can’t park. The people are always nice but I don’t recommend it for regular stops.

I do not know why this place is getting all of the negative reviews — true it may not be as great as it was in its storied past, and it may not be a Katz’s delicatessen, but it is A-OK with me. The deli is reminiscent of the old time delis of the 70s and early 80s, with the staff still dressing in requisite whites, but for an area in which I live that have few to none places to grab something to eat on the way home, this place is great! They have great sandwiches which are not too expensive, with generous servings of meat. I especially like the roast and brisket beef sandwiches which come piled with hot meat au jus. The soups are pretty tasty and hit the spot as well. I will try the other menu items as other reviews have given good praise, I will not order for delivery as they will probably take a long time as I do not see that they are adequately staffed to handle delivery(and most people stop by either by driving by or coming after getting off the bus on the way home). I still enjoy Wilkens as it is a nice old-time jewel in a changing neighborhood.

I’ve eaten at this place over 100 times because a whole bunch of my friends live in the neighborhood and I worked close by for 10 years. I’m giving it one star not because the food is horrible but because the combination of the average food and the horrible service. Don’t even bother ordering for delivery or pick up. The delivery takes over an hour for a simple order and the pick up doesn’t save you time because they never have the food ready in the time that they tell you. Also they screw up the orders at least half of the time. They add things to your sandwich that you didn’t want or they forget to put something on that you did want. The hot food is not good at all and never eat their soup. It is straight disgusting. The only thing I ever order from this place is a cold cut sandwich because you pretty much can’t mess that up. Oh yea and to make matters worse the people that work there are weird and rude. Stay away unless you want the most basic sandwich and have no time to go to a better deli

I used to love, love love their burgers. But the last few times I’ve ordered the bottom of the bun has been so soggy that it is sopping. The fries are always cold and dead. And the wait for the delivery was an hour. Meh. However! The burgers themselves, aside from the sogginess of their buns are perfectly cooked and delicious. I wouldn’t recommend ordering for delivery, but for pick up, I’m sure it would be much better.

I’ll do the positive first since its the shortest thing to write. Potato Leek soup. Absolutely wonderful, the best I’ve ever tasted. But even their positive has a negative, they almost never have it! Its listed on the menu, but its almost never one of the daily soups. Too bad too, its probably the best thing they make. And now to the negatives. And there are many. Delivery time. I called at 4:15 asked for a total, the woman said she would call me when the food was leaving to give me the total(why, I’m not sure, but they’re the only place who is never able to give a total right then, but I digress). She calls at 4:50 to let me know the total and that the order just left. 5:20 rolls around, still no food. I call he tells me that he left and had a lot of deliveries that were closer to there than my house.(I live a mile and a half away; and if I’m the furthest wouldn’t you think that you would start furthest out and work your way back toward the store? But again I digress). The food finally shows up at 5:35. The wings we ordered were barely warm. Luckily the rest were sandwiches so it was edible. The food(besides of course the soup) is really nothing spectacular. The sandwich I had was comparable to Subway in taste. At least if it was amazing food I wouldn’t so much mind the wait, but for sub-par food an hour and 20 minute wait is completely unacceptable. I’ve finally learned my lesson and will no longer be ordering from them.(Although I may walk in at some point just to see if they have the soup).

The good: sandwiches are good(depending on who makes them), expensive but good. The fried chicken is very good but depends on the day as I assume they have different people making it, sometimes its to die for and other times it’s bland. Wilkens is our go to place because there isn’t anything else close by within walking distance or that delivers. The bad is the prices of some items. The salads are very over priced, a listing of prices is nowhere to be found for the salads but we got a pound of antipasta salad and it was 9 bucks for a very mediocre salad. I will say that the service has improved over the years and the staff is spot on now.

I literally grew up around the corner. As I aged the quality of Wilkens’ food went down. Almost none of the food there is good. Even the sandwiches are shitty. Always made poorly and like all the food there made without love. Generally no one there cares about what they put out. everything is overpriced, even a can of soda is too much. in case your curious, the delivery is slow, and if you pick up make sure the order is right. cause they tend to mess that up

Let’s start this off on the good foot… Fried Chicken. But… this is a deli… in Mill Basin Kayin… Really? I answer you emphatically: YES. The chicken here is made to order so it’s guaranteed fresh. The chicken is well seasoned and perfectly cooked every time. Since it’s cooked to order there is a nice 45 minute wait, I would suggest calling ahead. But I ensure you, you will not be disappointed. Moving right along, let’s not forget why we go to deli’s…for the great sandwich. Wilkens, again, does not disappoint. The subs here are huge, delicious(due to QUALITYINGREDIENTS. Very Important) and there is huge variety to choose from. Highly recommended… even if it is a bit out of the way.

Everytime I go into Wilkins, I feel like it’s still the 70s. I expect the counter guy to serve me with bell bottom jeans. All the showcases and freezers, while still looking great, has not been updated and still retain that«disco» look the stainless steel counter and the cigarette racks remind you all the small deli shops from the bygone era in Bensonhurst. So too are their food. It is timeless. They claim to have the«best burgers in town» and THEYARE! This is as good a burger as you are going to get without cooking it yourself. Its juicy and flavorful yet it is not geasy. The meat patty is freshly made and not frozen. Which gives it a burst of its flavor. It is cooked with carmelized onions(optional) and the fries which are not half bad either. Their prepared food is also exceptional. The many distinctive variety is made from scratch from their sister store down the street, Bön soir caterers.(Read my other review) The service is always good and methodical.(Slow and steady) The staff are genuinely charming and polite with out even trying. When you close our eyes and listen carefully, I swear you can hear the BeeGees in the background. I wish this place never changes beacuse the 70s were a good era.
