HORRIBLE customer service. I called in to request a large custom order and this gentleman was a completely rude– not being a candy apple specialist (like he should be) I had multiple questions. Not only was he completely impatient, he could not give me a recommendation of top sellers for my order. Needless to say I decided to not give him my business.

IF YOU DID NOT GET ENOUGH FAT & SUGAR TO CLOG YOUR ARTERIES OR GIVE YOU DIABETES… THIS PLACE WILL DO THE TRICK WHILE PUTTING A SMILE ON YOUR PUSS.

For some perverse reason my health nut brother bought us 3 Cashew Nut Balls that had a core of Marshmellow.
I sure like the Cashews but the ultimate sweetness, made me discreetly throw it away.
I already had a QUADRILLION KCALs at Nathan’s with a Dog, A Soft Shelled Crabby
Sandwich (ophs!, I was the one who was Crabby after a long wait), Fries, & a over sweet drink.
Yes, I needed Marshmallow, like I need to stay in crappy NYC.
It has been a nightmare week, with us flying in like manics, for my Mom’s funeral…& it’s aftermath.
Your are NOT in Central Coast Farmland California anymore… when you notice, the lack of
fresh veggies everywhere. The vast majority of restaurants serve unhealthy crap. So every night I went to bed with a earful of lectures by my brother on the sins of eating out…& eating Fried, Salted, Sweet crap…& could hardly sleep due to GI upset.
At least I spent most nights scanning my Mom’s old pics into the computer & then uploading
to Goggle.
Remarkably the double whammy of both Nathans & this Candy store did not cause too much GI upset.
When you are depressed & grieving, you crave this crap… but you do have other choices in rural CA. all year round.
Anyway, this Candy Store reminded me of the Candy Stores that seem to populate CA Outlet
Malls, even the small one in Pismo Beach.
They have all the usual suspects & the nuts are fresh… which seems to be asking a lot in NYC.
Since we had to bring a few pounds of fresh CA nuts to my brother.
NYC also sells tons of crap from China (like Garlic), which is very different than Gilroy, CA Garlic. Gilroy even has Candied Garlic… which they do not seem to have here.
Garlic Ice-​cream is actually good.
At the very least, this place is a good place to take in the night atmosphere of Coney Island.
hopefully without being mugged. As a former NYer, I still worry about this…
My brother told me that this place has been here for 40+ years, but I never had the urge to come here before and doubt that I ever will.

No trip to Coney Island is complete without a trip to Nathan’s and William’s Candy Shop! I love this place and as a Brooklyn native, I’ve been coming here for years. The red candy apple with coconut is my favorite! Service is fast and easy. This is a Brooklyn staple and an absolute must every summer!

Huge fan of mom and pops and this candy store is the best in all of bk! Price is reasonable and right in the heart of Coney! I have the biggest sweet tooth in the world so I use my little girls as an excuse to come here ahhhhh chocolate covered gummies!

Delicious! I had the caramel apple with peanuts, the caramel pecan marshmallow ball and some cotton candy. I understand this probably sounds like a lot, but the idea was to go in and get a caramel apple. However once I ate the apple that was juicy, sweet and crunchy, I had to try something else from this shop. Since I’m a big fan of caramel and nuts, the marshmallow caramel, pecan ball was my second choice for the day. I had just devoured two Nathan’s and the sweet and salty was making me feel pretty amazing. This caramel pecan ball is everything you can imagine after putting those two ingredients together. The marshmallow is perfect for keeping it together and doesn’t interfere with the taste of the caramel and pecans. If they’d dare dip this ball in chocolate, I’d faint with joy. I’ll be sure to ask next time I’m there (like tomorrow). I’m not a cotton candy person, but what the hell, I bought some. It too seemed to be the best I’ve tasted. I really bought it for my partner and he loved it!
I was gonna remove one star cause the girl is a little rude in how she takes care of the customers, but the candy is too good to care or give her much thought.

I purchased 3 Dozen Candy apples for a special occasion and my experience couldn’t have been any better.
I called to place an order a few days in advance, they took my info and gave me the option to place a deposit over the phone via Credit Card.
Upon arrival on the day of my event my order was ready for pick up, no waiting, each apple was individually wrapped and given to me neatly in a box.
The Candy apples here are beautiful, high quality and authentic.
I will return again and I will make sure to reccommed.

All kinds of candy apples. All kinds of dipped marshmallows on a stick. All kinds of candy. Caramel popcorn and ice cream too. Annoying kids and unresponsive parents who don’t try and control them. Small narrow place which we had to fight through the crowd to purchase a few treats to take home.
The staff here are saints for dealing with some of the people here. Williams has been around for quite a long time and it’s part of that old-​school feeling which makes Coney Island so cool. We dropped in here at 1am last night and they were packed! Stays open late on nice weekend days. We were lured in just walking by the front and drooling over the display of candy apples and marshmallow treats in the window.
Sometimes I do prefer these blast from the past little mom and pop shops over the giant candy chain store across the street. Heck, that place closed early on July 4^th while Coney Island was still jamming with people and tiny William’s was still going strong into the wee hours.

Big fan of their candy apples and have gotten others hooked on them. I always make a stop if i’m in the area. Large variety including the candy selection. The clerks aren’t always rushing to take your order but I can overlook that for apple goodness.

Coney Island is limited for good quality food options so it’s nice to have a place like Williams which not only has great quality snacks but has been around for decades. In addition to name brand candy/​hard ice cream (Hershey’s), they also home make candied apples and excellent soft serve ice cream to name a couple of their signature big sellers. Soft serve comes in classic chocolate/​vanilla but also pistachio and banana. It’s great to mix banana and chocolate but I found both the banana and pistachio to be a little too sweet. The consistency was great though. A small runs $ 4 while a large runs $ 6. Service was decent and this is definitely my new go-​to stop when I’m down at the beach.

I’ve been visiting this candy shop since I was a child in the 80’s. So happy to see it back in action after sandy. It seems like its sparkling now!
They have all kinds of yummy treats, from classics like cotton candy and a variety of candy apples to ice cream and giant lollipops! Chocolate covered marshmallow treats, marshmallow balls covered in peanuts, and fresh chocolate covered strawberries fill this store up with yummy colorful goodness!

Don’t pass this place up for the new candy giant across the street… two different things! This place is truly a part of Coney Island history, you will certainly enjoy this «flashback» to your childhood type of experience!

This shop is a staple of Coney Island! I’ve been shopping and eating at this awesome family-​run candy shop since the ‘80s. All candy, popcorn, and chocolate are so fresh and delicious. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. Their colorful candy window display would make anyone drool!

Their caramel peanut candy apple was to die for. They also had a fudge display, which looked amazing, but I didn’t bother. I was already loaded on carnival food.
I bought chocolate covered strawberries — ordered four, but walked out with one when the girl over the counter told me that it cost $ 2.50 piece! Granted, the strawberry was delish, it was way too pricey for ONE chocolate covered strawberry.

I love Williams Candy Shop, especially when a stuffed Topo Gigio used to greet me at the door, alas he is gone.
I am seriously worried about the fate of this old school candy store, as they have just opened a ginormous candy store on the opposite corner.
You can buy candy by the pound here, including lots of gummy candies (and chocolate covered gummy bears-​you just don’t find those everywhere!) there is cotton candy and lots of varieties of candy apples.
Its about $ 3 per 14 lb. I don’t think that’s cheap… but worth supporting the old school Coney spots.

I’ve been coming here for over 30 years it was never my first choice, before the Giuliani administration shuttered all the stores in the Stillwell Ave train station there was «Philips Candy» open year round in that grimy dirty subway station it was a kiss of paradise.
I could never walk in there without buying something, perennial favorites, included the cashew ball, caramel lovingly wrapped around a marshmallow and studded in cashews, frozen bananas dripped in milk or dark chocolate and coated in toasted peanuts, and every other confection under the sun, but alas it closed always being promised that it would reopen but it never did.
So then it was «Williams», I like Williams but not a much as I liked «Phillips» they make good solid candy the chocolate bananas is good, the cashew ball is also good but it’s not as good as the memories of «Phillips» maybe its just me. I do like there salt water taffy though, and try and buy a box every summer.
Not handicapped accessible at all you can barely fit the wheelchair in the store and then there are so many displays your always afraid of knocking something over.

Love this candy shop; my second must get something from spot when I come to Coney Island shop.
Its the sort of shop I’ve seen many parents’ kids spot, then nag you to go into after inhaling a Nathans hotdog. (they knew what they were doing being besides Nathan’s and they work that window display out, simple but definitely Eye Candy!).
Standard amusement park treats, cotton candy, candied apples. It also has a other candies I grew up with, things that make ya go, «Ooh I remember that! Lemme get a pound», (sour straws, that gigantic jawbreaker candy, jelly fruit slices).
The store has a good turn around, find the candies fresh and always had a good experience with the staff.

It takes a special kind of candy store to outshine a trip to Coney Island, but William’s sure did when I visited recently with a pair of 9-​year olds. They were excited at the prospect of getting a sack of penny candy with ~30 varieties to choose from. There were also candy apples and saltwater taffy — the usual seaside confections.
The staff seemed kind of… annoyed (?) by our presence, which is strange considering they work in a flippin’ candy store and should be used to kids being stoked on candy. The shop itself is cramped and small, but definitely has that beachy candy-​store charm.

The charming young ladies working the stifling heat in this cramped old-​school sweets shoppe dished out my pistachio/​banana twist soft-​serve in record time. At $ 3.50, the small cup tasted like candy without being cloying, a delicious and refreshing treat. My mama told me the night previous that pistachios allay the effects of headaches; unfortunately, I consumed this so fast it caused the onset of another confounding headache.
PS: I was initially confused as to the difference between WCS & Denny’s Delight, which apparently also sells the same unique and delectably brilliant creation, but I can confirm that both do indeed offer the same product for comparable prices.

Just finished going nuts at Nathan’s? What better way to follow it up than drowning yourself in sugary sweetness? That’s what William’s Candy Shop provides in spades! The window just grabs your eye with its assortment of candy apples, marshmallows wrapped in an array of toppings and nut clusters.
The interior is small, but has that «old New York» feel to it that some corners of Coney Island have managed to preserve. In that sense, it’s a wonderful follow up to Nathan’s. The staff is very friendly and I got to watch one of the girls make the bags of cotton candy. She made it look easy but I’m sure it’s not!
I tried the rum raisin ice cream and it was delicious. Just the right amount of tartness with a hint of liquor flavor. The caramel corn is excellent. Lighter than Cracker Jacks but still very tasty. Finally, I had one of their pecan nut clusters, which *gasp*, had a marshmallow center! Pure awesomeness.
There’s no seating spot for William’s, so you’ll wind up having to borrow some of Nathan’s seating next door. Still, if you’re at the park, it’s worth a try.
