Hi Zitellis/Viccolo, I’ve been to your restaurant as both Zitellis and Viccolo at least six times and it was extremely mediocre each time. Your pizza was decent, but your other dishes were mediocre and inconsistent from visit to visit. I see that you have recently changed the name back to Viccolo from Zitellis. But the name isn’t your problem. Let me explain. You have a beautiful restaurant/bar. One of the nicest in Bay Ridge in fact! And a good location. May I suggest that you shift your focus from restaurant to bar? A craft beer focused bar to be specific which bay Ridge is extremely lacking in. I’m a life long Bay Ridge resident and bartended in the neighborhood for 13 years, so I know a few things about the topic. If I had more capital, I would open my own, but I don’t at the moment. Imagine Kettle Black but with a more upscale, craft beer focus. Real craft beer, not the ABInbev and Molson Coors fake craft brands. Stone Brewing, Sierra Nevada, Bells, Smuttynose, there are thousands to choose from. Featuring a solid bar food menu that pair well with beer. I live in the area, so this is certainly a slightly selfish request as I would love a bar of this type to patronize. But I guarantee it would do well if you did it right and promoted it right. Instead of just being another Italian restaurant in Bay Ridge that isn’t Gino’s. I’d be glad to assist you with more opinions free of charge if you haven’t already stopped reading and told me to go $%&$ myself. :) Thanks for reading.

Stopped here for brunch with some friends… and boy was it a mistake. All the other brunch spots were packed full and this was the only place that was empty… I was kind of skeptical of coming into a restaurant with 3 tables occupied during brunch hours. Order calimari for apptizer, white clam pizza and a simple omelette. The calimari took about 30 minutes to be served. The pizza took about 40 minutes to serve. The server came out and told us he had dropped the pizza and had to make a new one. And the simple omelette took another 30 minutes. We ended up dining here for 2 hours and wasted a good amount of the afternoon. By the time we left, there were 2 tables occupied. It wasn’t even busy but the food took forever. The food was subpar.

This is a new place I have tried on Kareoke Night. I ordered the Beet Salad from the Specials menu. Buffalo wings are great. They are meaty and you can have a choice of sauces. You can order a personal pizza and comes with free beer of choice on tap. Calm atmosphere with the usual Kareoke crowd. The décor including the Chandeliers makes it feel elegant. Now I know another great place to go for Kareoke where I can get drinks and wings! Not one or the other!

After a failed attempt eating next door at The Pearl Room, we figured we would try this place. It was after 7pm on Mother’s Day and to say we were frustrated and hungry was an understatement. We walked in to inquire if they could fit us in and were friendly accommodated immediately. The staff were so nice. The food was delicious and the wine was also good. We had the stuffed ravioli, the penne ala vodka, the flatbread pizza, and linguine with clam sauce. It was delicious! We will definitely return!

Ate there for 1st time with My wife + we were very disappointed. Ordered 10in pizza for app($ 9)+ waited about 25 – 30 mins + was told the 1st one got burned. Pizza was cheese + sauce on what seemed to be on very thin crispy tortilla. Tasty but not worth price. For entrees, My wife ordered salmon oreganato + I ordered ckn marsala. Salmon was white not pink + didn’t taste like salmon sent it back. Ckn marsala was over cooked ckn w/what tasted like canned mushrooms, no prosutto, not much flavor + pasta undercooked. Pasta had marsala sauce on it + when we asked if they could make new pasta w/red sauce w w were told no. Waitstaff was nice + apologetic. Salmon taken off the bill + rest of ckn went home for pups. Won’t be going back. Walking home stopped by Mezcals on 3rd for a gd meal.

The restaurants vibe was great on a Friday night. My husband and I came here with my brother in law and his wife. The service was great, and there was live jazz music playing up front. The food was okay. I ordered the gnocchi, my husband ordered the lasagna. It was good, just not the best Italian I’ve ever had.

I’m sad my nexplanon makes me PMS hard like deadly Cramps food cravings, mood swings and all I slept and cried most of my day. I was really really hungry so I decided to cheer myself up I was going to order a spinach artichoke personal Pizza and some wings. I get the pizza and it looks like spinach dip on top of burnt matzo crackers apparently the place only serves super thin crust pizza I didn’t realize that’s what I was ordering on GrubHub before I came to pick up explain that to the guy at the register and he told me he’s going to speak to his manager and get it removed from my total. the manager came out and acted like I wanted special privileges.. I kept it together because I didn’t want to be made into the Angry Black Woman in a room full of staring White people now I get home and open My Wings to fine the nastiest plain chicken I’ve ever had the misfortune of tasting and I’m sad hungry and want my money back. And I’m trying to figure out why they thought that chicken was a good idea it’s literally plain baked chicken with no salt pepper nothing slathered in homemade flavorless ranch sauce it taste like Mayo this chicken is what every joke about white people not being able to cook is made out of … but the guy at the register was nice he’s the only reason I’m giving 2 stars

Just ordered from here and I was not impressed. Keep in mind this is the second time eating here. I actually went to the restaurant a while back and wasn’t too pleased either, but hey, I wanted to give it a second chance. I got the ribeye sandwich and it was so gross and oily! Oh and they forgot my fries. The salad was ok and the calamari was not bad. My SO ordered a thin crust pizza and it was also alright. Overall, it was not worth the money. It’s way too expensive! Never again.

(2 ½ stars). Went here for brunch earlier today & l gotta say it was pretty standard. Nothing great. We were hoping for an «Italian brunch» being that it’s an Italian restaurant. It was very American. Had the French toast w/Hashbrowns, they were ok, very basic. My cappuccino was ok too, a lil’heavy handed with the cinnamon. My Sis had a decaf coffee, she took a few sips & said it was watered down. She got the Zitelli Omelette & they burned it! They tried hiding it by piling hashbrowns on top but as she pushed them aside burnt marks all around & very dry, she didn’t finish it. She & l don’t like sending stuff back since we don’t trust the food that comes back to the table, lol. we just won’t come back. We tried their margherita pizza and that was very thin & watery too. My mozzarella was sliding off along with the sauce. Definitely way different than the pizza in Italy. About a year ago we came here for a late lunch & we ordered the Zitelli pizza(l gave my Sis the prosciutto) that pizza, was pretty good! The dessert we had was Coppa Spagnola & that wasn’t anything great, basically it was vanilla ice cream with amarena cherry sauce on top,(side note: amarena: dark cherries). The other dessert options are standard of every restaurant so they didn’t appeal to us. However, the service is attentive & very friendly!

Went for Sunday brunch with my girlfriend, and ordered a zitteli omelet and steak and eggs. Steak was very thin almost paper thin and a lot of fat. Honestly the worst I ever had. The eggs were over easy. Cant screw up eggs, or can you? Prosciutto in the omelette was like rubber, and to much onions. So can screw up eggs. Bloody marry 5 $, tasted like it wasn’t even standing next to a bottle of liquor. Service is OK, waiters are attentive but speak with heavy accent, hard to understand what they’re saying. If you want to enjoy brunch walk across the street to Kettle Black and enjoy your brunch, skip Zitteli at all cost. Pure garbage.

Dropped in for lunch with a group of friends as a last resort because the better places within the block were completely full. This turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences in my life. Turns out their kitchen was understaffed, entrees came out an HOUR&HALF later. And when it finally came out — the burgers we ordered was missing toppings and had to be sent back. Our pizza had dropped on the floor and had to be remade. We were completely floored by the sloppy kitchen service. It was hardly even busy! Ultimately the food was less than mediocre. It was frustrating to have our time wasted. We just wanted to get on with our day. There are far better Pizza/Italian restaurants in the area. Take your money elsewhere. This restaurant needs an intervention. I will sign them up for Kitchen Nightmare.

Finally stopped by to try Zitellis with a friend(who is on a juice and veggie cleanse will get to that later) As you walk in there is a warm cozy bar that greets you. I was a bit late and the waiter knew my name and escorted me to the table my friend was already seated at. What’s nice about the menu is its diversity: salads, pasta, sandwiches and of course pizza. You can build your own personal 10″ pie(there is a 16″ large pie) or select from the delicious house specials. I really love Pizza Bianca which is a white pie with spinach, truffle oil and garlic. However, Zitellis offered a creamy spinach and artichoke selection which I wasn’t jazzed about(sounded too mushy) So I selected the great Arugula salad with baby arugula, red onions, shaved Parmesan with a lemon olive oil dressing to start with. It was light and delicious! I selected the Vicolo 10″ pie which had fresh mozzarella, ricotta, carmelized onions, parmigiana cheese, extra virgin olive oil and fresh basil. It was very tasty however they skimped a bit on the onions and I do love thin crust pizza but the crust was a tad hard. I did suggest to the waiter that a Pizza Bianca would be a nice addition to the menu. He did say the menu is changing soon and he would suggest it to the kitchen. As for my cleanse conscious friend: she had the Avocado salad: fresh avocado over arugula drizzled with honey mustard dressing. She also had a side order of delicious grilled veggies. We were too stuffed for dessert but they do have a nice selection: tiramisu, coppa spagnola, profiteroles and cannoli. On the way out the bar looked very inviting. Next time a little vino with my dinner would be nice. They my also do brunch and a party room is available. Mangia!

Very cheap brunch spot. $ 12.95 and have a selection about 10 to choose from. They are on a corner, so one side of the corner have glass windows that allow a lot of light in. When we went they were preparing for a party on a Saturday afternoon. Full bar. Portions are large. Drinks are cheap. $ 3 mimosa, $ 5 lemon cello spritzer.

What a great Italian spot for a girls night dinner. A few of us came to Zitelli’s and were not disappointed. We started off with the meatballs mozzerella sticks app. I was told the meatballs were good and the mozzarella sticks were your average fried mozzarella sticks. For dinner we ordered the vicolo pizza, the eggplant rollatini, and the spinach and artichoke pizza. The vicolo pizza was probably the best. Great combination of flavors! The spinach and artichoke pizza was good but lacked something. Maybe salt? I don’t know but it was a little bland. I don’t think I would get this pizza again. The service was great. The waiter was friendly, attentive, and hilarious(at least to us he was). I would probably go back and try their entrees next time.

Nice Italian bar restaurant in Bay Ridge. More of a restaurant though. The bar area was’t too big but not sure if the restaurant is new but it seemed like everything inside was. Nicely decorated and laid out. Plenty of TV’s which was good. They were all playing sports when I was there, a good thing. Service was good. Polite and attentive. The food was good. I had the meat lovers pizza which only came in thin crust. The pop corn shrimp and calamari were both pretty good too. They also had burgers and salads on the menu. Parking is metered until 7 pm along 3rd Ave for 2 hour limit. There is street parking on the side streets but maybe tough to find depending on the time of day.

This review is just for the bar as we just stopped in for a quick beer but I would go back after our experience. The atmosphere is very well done… Not dirty, not gaudy, just right. The bartender was great and was able to have simultaneous conversations with a few groups but still provide great service and ensure that everyone was happy. The prices also seemed reasonable… Decent beers(lagunitas, etc) were under 6 and I think you get a free appetizer if you spend 20 — but we didn’t as it was a Tuesday and we weren’t trying to get too much of a buzz. I’d definitely go back and try their pizza!

The first time I went to zitelli’s it wasn’t disappointing but it wasn’t great food. The server was very accommodating and pleasant. Food came out I’m a timely manner as well. The wings were nothing to rave about. The personal pie is $ 12 is dollars and it is a very small personal pie. So just be prepared for a small portion. Next visit is what turned me off. First thing I notice was someone’s left over lipstick on my glass. The waitress said she’ll tell the manager and when she did he was visibly annoyed. She offered me another drink which I declined. Not once did he come to the table to apologize or recognize the issue. It wasn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things but when your sitting right next to him and he doesn’t acknowledged it, is where I got aggravated. This time we ordered the fried calamari(nothing compared to casa calamari) and 2 personal pies. That plus 2 beers came out to $ 60 that is absurd! Needless to say I am not going to go back for their high priced mediocre pizza.

Pretty good Italian food. Started off with some calamari and chicken wings which both didn’t disappoint. Ravioli pasta was tasty. Overall the menu has some pretty affordable options. Restaurant was a little cold and service was a little slow.
