Have not been, but have had delivery a couple times. Today I tried the buffalo wings; big mistake. The flavor was there, but the wings themselves seemed like they had been floating in water for a week. Very odd consistency, not a fan. The sandwich I got was okay. Can’t say I loved the bread though. Things that annoyed me the most? $ 2.50 for a CAN of soda. Coke, no less. GUYS. Seriously. That’s TWICE what any other place would charge for canned soda. For $ 2.50 I was expecting a 20-ounce. Pretty weak sauce overall. Plus, the delivery guy was annoyed that I didn’t automatically up his tip on seamless. Sorry, guy, didn’t realize getting in a car for 10 minutes demanded more than 15%.

I’m a sandwich kinda gal when it comes to lunch time and working a few blocks from Zito’s means I come by often to grab a quick bite. I’ve tried several from the menu and the one that got me moist was the 8hr Pork Braciole. TMI? Fuhgetaboudit.

You guys, I don’t know. If you call yourself«Blank(insert whatever your specialty is) Shop,» you better be good at said specialty. And you better be double freakin’ good if you’re so confident you paid your sign guy for an extra(and completely unnecessary) ‘p’ and ‘e.’ That’s hipster chutzpah, right there. My sandwich was not great. In fact, when I opened it, I had to Google the ol’ brain to see what I ordered, because the stuff that was inside my two slabs of flour bombs looked like fried fry, and I am pretty sure fried fry is not on their menu. Brain Google is telling me I ordered the Panelle — which, at $ 10.50, is one of the most expensive sandwiches on the menu. It has«Sicilian Chickpea Fritters» and a bunch of other stuff. Sounds romantic and tasty, like a snack you might enjoy on the steps of Steve Jobs’ grave or something(Sicily is in California, right?). Nope. I just had another bite and I don’t get the Sicilian, I don’t get the chickpea, and I don’t get the fritter. I get nothing. And, y’all, what’s the mark of a good sandwich? What is it? Everybody together!!! It’s that it’s… Moist! Don’t you love that word? Isn’t that your favorite word in your entire world!!! Well, it is in mine and I wish it applied to this sandwich, because that word is incredibly important in the world of sandwich-making and eating. This sandwich was as dry as a Christopher Guest documentary, and that’s a cardinal sin according to the sandwich mafia, which is me. And, hey, Zito’s, if your Mixed Olive side does not, in fact, include castelvetrano olives, you really need to amend your menu. This is an important consideration. You cannot toy with this girl about her castelvetranos. A few bright points: I liked the Rice Balls($ 6) — they are fluffy, with a bit of pepper and lots of cheese, and large enough that you can share an order with your fella. I also can’t knock the cannolis(about $ 6) too much — they were small and the shells too hard, but the filling — the soul of a cannoli, I think — was right on.

Is «Zito» Italian for sloth and self-loathing? Because every time I get a sandwich from this place I experience those two feelings in addition to bliss, ecstasy and love. It’s the kind of big-ass toasty sandwich I’d make at home if I were stoned off my ass and I may or may not admit to indulging in a Zito’s sandwich while I am in such a state. Suddenly those big rice balls make a lot more sense. There is no wrong sandwich to order here but if its your first time to go with the 8hr Pork Braciole which is heaven on a hoagie and this being Park Slope you order a Sixpoint with your sandwich mister or you don’t come back now ya hear?! The fried balls also make a great app if you’re with a group of people.

I am cah-razy shocked there are so many 3-star reviews! Two friends and I were wandering around Park Slope looking for a bit to eat and we stumbled by Zito’s and thought we’d stop in. We ordered the Autogrill, Trunzo, and the Panelle, and because we all wanted to try each, they happily cut each sub into thirds. We ordered some beers and I got a ½ side of their green bean and potato salad and arugula. It took a bit of time to come out, but we were enjoying a nice and sunny afternoon, so that didn’t matter to us. When the subs came out they were enormous. For $ 10, and this being Park Slope, we totally expected measly subs. Boy, were we wrong. Each third of the pizza must have been about 4 inches so there was more than enough for sharing. The Autogrill and Trunzo were both amazing. The Panelle was a it dry, but that’s almost to be expected for chickpea fritters on Italian bread. The side ended up not containing the arugula, which is fine, and the mixups seem to be slightly common. They also had a cute patio out back, too! I wish I could get 4.5, but I don’t want to round up to 5 because they need to iron-out some kinks.

Good deli option, especially for the Park Slope area. I had the CBLT(a BLT + chicken). You can tell it was made fresh, not premade sitting on the counter. Not exactly cheap, but prices are comparable to other delis in the area.

Pretty decent italian deli. Rice balls were good, basic. The oil they were fried in was a little stale. All the side salads were pretty good. Managed not to be too oily, acidic or salty. Autogrill was delicious. Would fill a muffuletta craving any day. Cannolis were pretty average, but the shell wasn’t soggy.

The sandwhiches are quite good and I like the variety but the food takes too long to come out. We ordered the special and to took a half hour to come out. I will probably will come back again, but I will make sure I give myself more time.

Placed an order for a bunch of sandwiches for my friends for us to eat while waiting in line at the Bell House. Placed the order about three hours in advance on Seamless with a delivery time of 7:30. The sandwiches arrived almost exactly on time. Delivery biker gave me a ring and it was a(ahem) seamless transaction. Even though it was winter time, sandwiches were warm(wrapped in foil lined bags). I ordered the slow cooked pork bracciole(#4) on semolina bread. I think they gave me rustico bread instead, but it was still good. The bread crumbs and tomato sauce really took away from the flavor of the pork though. I mean, what’s the point of slow cooking it for 8 hours if you’re just going to drown it in other stuff? That was the only complaint. Everyone else seemed to love their sandwiches. Would definitely order from them again, and maybe stop by their shop for a beer or two.

I was so excited to try this sandwich shop, since I think South Slope needs more Bierkraft-esque sandwiches. Buuuuuut unfortunately I was a little disappointed. I went to grab a late lunch, and got the special: porchetta topped with Italian herbs and spicy broccoli rabe, served on ciabatta. I’m such a sucker for broccoli rabe. Here were my issues: the sandwich was GREASY. The bread seemed like it had been soaked in butter, and the pork was really fatty. The broccoli rabe was satisfyingly spicy but overcooked so that it lacked a slight crunch. Also, it was $ 11. That’s a bit expensive for what you’re getting. I’d try Zito’s again, but note to Unilocalers: do not eat a sandwich from there and then try to go for a run several hours later. You’ll end up with a massive stomach cramp.

Adorable sandwich shop were you can also hang and grab a drink. I loved the shrimp Parmesan hero and the house wine was perfect. This place doesn’t pretend to be anything else than what it is.

A decent sandwich at a decent price, delivered with lots of character. While I sat waiting for my order, I kept wondering if these guys were for real, or if it was an act, because they’re quite hilarious. If it’s act, then well done. And if that’s how they really are, then old school Italian is alive and well at Zitos. All that to say, I was more intrigued by the atmosphere than by the food.

This place opened to a lot of fanfare about 6 months ago, and it took me a while to make it there, so my expectations had plenty of time to build up. Sadly, they were not met. Zito’s seems authentic and charming, the décor is nice and inviting, but I think it’s more about image and hype than actual substance. «Old school Italian sandwich shop finally comes to Park Slope!» The perceived value is high, but to me the place just did not measure up. I will say, all the guys who work there seem like nice, salt-of-the-earth paisans, so I’ll give them that. The menu looks and sounds great. Tons of classic Italian sandwiches, side dishes, and a nice beverage selection. Sixpoint on tap, growlers available. Seems awesome. Then you place your order, and wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. Whether there are 2 people in the place or 22, it takes like 20 mins to get a sandwich here. I’m sorry, but unless you’re killing the pig out back, that’s just ridiculous. I’ve tried Zito’s 3 times now. I’ve had the pork bracciole, the chicken parm, and a roast beef special of the day. All of them were fair to middling. Pretty unremarkable, through and through. The bread was not memorable, the ingredients were fresh and the sandwiches well crafted, but the flavors were shockingly absent. When I have an Italian sub, I expect to be hit pretty hard with flavor, savory ingredients, and often a real hearty sauce, made with love. Sadly, I just have not gotten that here. I will say that the arancini(stuffed, breaded rice balls) were the next best I’ve had since being over in Calabria and Sicily. Sorry Faicco’s and Murray’s. So, if you’re in the area, this isn’t a bad option, but there are better not far away. If you’re thinking about coming here from a distance specifically to try it out, don’t.

Zito’s is an italian delicatessen pretty new to the Slope. They offer a rustic atmosphere and several Italian inspired sandwiches as well as a few sides. The sandwiches are just ok. I’m not a big fan of sandwiches but their veggie offering was pretty good with a herbal dressing covering the roasted vegetables. What I really enjoy is the arancelli(sp??) or rice balls. In fact I was briefly obsessed with them and so were several other members of my workplace. We probably ordered pounds of these little suckers which are a combination of rice, cheese, meats(or spinach if you’re not a carnivore) then breaded and fried. They’re also a cheap and filling meal. They have a selection of beers and bottled organic drinks(Hello its park slope!).

This place is okay, but certainly not great. We got the eggplant parm, roast beef, green bean and potato salad, and lentil soup. Both the sandwiches were a foot long and what you would expect for $ 10 in Brooklyn, but the potato salad was ridiculously small. Probably 5 to 6 green beans and then 4 marble size chunks of potato. Soup was an okay size and a discounted price for purchasing the sandwich, but unfortunately it was thin and flavorless… really tasted like water with a few lentil thrown in. We tossed it. The eggplant sandwich was pretty solid and that is probably the only thing we would get again. The roast beef was dry and tough and sliced way too thick(close to a ¼ inch) so with each bite you had use all the pressure you could to cut through and not pull out all the insides of the sandwich. Also, there was a lot of fat still on the beef so in the end I had to pull the beef out and trim to eat. I would definitely skip the roast beef here and go to Bierkraft, Press, or Farm on Adderley(which has a sick roast beef that melts in your mouth) instead. The vibe of this place is good and the staff seems nice so we wish it nothing but the best. Will give a second chance, but probably wait a few months for kinks to be worked out.

Beer on tap, awesome sandwiches and free wifi! This is a great place for lunch or in my case, a work lunch. Came here with a buddy near methodist hospital and we both wanted the same meatball parm sandwhich. I ended up getting the meatball parm and he got the sixpoint braised roast beef. They both looked good so we split the sandwiches so we could try both. They were both as good as they looked but when youre paying $ 9 and $ 11 respectively, they better be. With sixpoint on tap, you cant go wrong going in for a sandwich or a beer.

3.5 stars for me. Zito’s had a lot of good things going for it. First of all, they have Sixpoint on tap — good choice, guys! Also, they happened to be playing Bowling for Soup’s 1985 — yeahhhh Texas. The shoppe itself is nicely decorated and there’s free wifi — yay. However, I was slightly disappointed with my sandwich. I ordered the #9, the autogrill. For the price($ 10), I found it a bit small and very dry. I am willing to give Zito’s another shot though; I really want to try the Sixpoint braised roast beef!

My boyfriend and I just ate the hell out of some Zito’s delivery. Mmm, mmm, mm. We got: Arancini-delicious fried goodness with meat and cheese and sauce. It is about the size of a large pear, so don’t think you need to order more than 1 for 2 people. Meatball Parmesan– Delicious. Bread is soft, the meatballs are tasty, sauce is delicious, and not too much cheese. I could only eat half. its a big sandwich. Autogrill Sandwich-I couldn’t tell what was in it other than alot of meat, cheese, and spicy peppers. My boyfriend killed it in a matter of mere moments and said it was absolutely delicious. We got zito’s through Grub hub and it took about 35 minutes, which is good. Only down side is they did forget our sodas, which we did pay for. Oh well… one bite of the arancini and we no longer cared.

Newly opened Zito’s is a smart looking sandwich shop of Italian inspiration. There are 13 main sandwiches as well as sides, salads, sliders, Sicilian rice balls and other things, not so alliterative. They’ve paid particular attention to detail, with ingredients sources from local suppliers(such as il Fornaretto bread, Salumeria Biellese and Applegate Farms). I was particularly drawn to an 8 hour slow cooked pork bracciole sandwich, however I don’t think this place has been opened for 8 hours, so it wasn’t ready. Instead, I went with the grilled spicy sausage with peppers and onions. It was about the size of my forearm, and only half was needed to fill me up. So unless you’re an NFL lineman, you’ll likely get 2 meals out of your visit. The sides looked great and priced nicely for sharing/exploring. It’s a very casual«order at the counter» type place, with a decent amount of seating and also tables out back. The only downside is that it’s just down the street and now I’ll have to renew my gym membership because I’ll probably be stopping here weekly.
