Went here for lunch yesterday(20 Sep) only to find a sign on the front door saying that this location had closed.

Favorite place to go to, granted the menu has changed more times than a wardrobe fitting for Lady Gaga the food is still great… oh and muffins…

The Carrot Raisin Nut Loaf was moist and flavorful. I liked the addition of pineapple. Sometimes carrot breads have an overly oily taste. This one did not. The Cinnamon Streusel Loaf was mediocre. I think an addition of apples would’ve helped. The loafs go for $ 2.99 a piece and they are about the same size as the muffins, which go for $ 1.25-$ 1.99 depending on how many you buy, so you’ll get more bang for your buck if you buy carrot raisin nut muffins. Also, I found their location to be quite obscure. It was kind of difficult to get into the right parking lot.

My family has visited this location a number of times and the service has been quite good for the most part. Also, it helps that the food tends to be good when comparing it to similar breakfast/brunch/lunch locations. One of my favorite items, though, is the honey bran muffins. That alone would probably be a reason to visit here, if just to get one of those.

I previously went here on Dec. 26th, 2012 when i checked back to see if things were better i found my review had been deleted, this place is in serious need of help. We went for brunch mid afternoon, got sat quickly as there was few people there at the time. The service was horrible from the get go, server was ill, and was sniffling each time she came to the table. Had to ask, the host to refill our drinks, and took 30 minutes to get our food. when our food came it was cold and burnt, and the omelet tasted like a heap of salt. we know it wasnt busy, as the cook came to the front and was socializing with the host, all the while had her hand shoved down inside the back of her pants. Meh. That’s how I sum this place up. I had just moved to this neck of the woods with my other half, and was jonesin’ to try out all the little breakfast/brunch places. We had heard Mimi’s was good and affordable so a friend and I ventured over there for breakfast one day. Now, this was in my pre-vegan days when I was still eating eggs… so I was a lot less picky than I am now for breakfast dishes. We both ordered a scramble with veggies and one of their muffins on the side: I had the lemon poppyseed, along with a cup of coffee. Not impressed. The scramble was boring, the coffee was OK, and the muffin sort of tasted like it had been made with dishwater. I’m usually not this harsh of a critic, but this place is seriously lacking. Not to mention the very strange waitress we had who sort of hovered over us even when we were done ordering… just lingering and staring at us. Oh, another huge no-no: I haven’t had regular milk in years and I usually drink almond milk. However, I know most places only carry soy, which is fine. I asked for a small thing of soy milk with my coffee only to find out they don’t have any… and I was looked at as though I had three heads… I think it’s needless to say I won’t be back.

I enjoy the food at Mimi’s. The drawbacks: the lack of raw sugar for my coffee, a hot sauce choice besides red or green Tabasco, and offering a muffin choice with my dish on the menu, but having the server act like it doesn’t matter if I get one with my meal or not. The score is 3.5 rounded up to a 4. They’ll earn the 4 I’ve given reluctantly today when they add the raw sugar to the condiments on the table. Get the service to be passionate and a bit friendlier and have all your muffin choices ready by 11:30 and they can even have a 5.

There was a time when Mimi’s in Broomfield got an easy 4 stars from me. Then a couple of years ago they changed their menu and became much more mainstream. We gave them a couple of years«off» before giving them another chance … but it was even worse now. Simply put, nearly everything tasted pre-cooked. The chicken pot pie was decent but overcooked. The mashed potatoes were pasty and bland. The pumpkin cheesecake was terrible(no texture, somewhat thicker than whipped cream but not cheescake thickness, and obviously out of a box). The kids sliders were tasty, and the pot roast was ok. The coffee wasn’t very good. I’m aware it is a chain … and I think most of the food issues were probably something that has happened chain-wide. The service at this location has gone way down as well.

The hostess very friendly and the menu looks inviting. We went for dinner. My beer was good(Newcastle Brown). The waitress was very professional but couldn’t tell us if the smoothies have milk. Fortunately, my wife remembered and by the time we found them on the menu it appeared she was right. My wife’s tomato soup was unexpectedly spicy but the substitute french soup was quite good. I had the chicken brie dijon which tasted good and looked wonderful in the picture but my wife said that her mashed potatoes tasted much better than mine even though they were supposed to be the same. I never got to taste hers because she ordered the chicken madeira with extra artichoke hearts. The chef interpreted that as cheese and artichoke hearts without madeira sauce, so my wife had to send it back. Before that happened, the waitress offered to bring the madeira sauce on the side. We have a bit of experience eating at chain restaurants and I’d encourage Mimi’s management to check with Olive Garden to see how they make Chicken Madeira. Mimi’s makes it as a sort of combination of two different sauces and the result is quite unappetizing to say the least. Anyway, my wife didn’t like the gross amount of cheese on her dish either so that was that. It’s odd because a few months ago we came here for dessert and were impressed with the service, ambiance and the quality of the food. In contrast, now the waitress couldn’t care less about our dinner experience which was an added disappointment considering there were very few guests for a Saturday evening. If the kitchen messes up, it’s not your fault but at least make the guest happy if you want to keep your job. The manager did her best to apologize but still fell short of expectations. Needless to say, this was our last MC experience. Considering their price point, if you expected sustainably caught seafood like at Rubios or any kind of organic ingredient, you will be disappointed. The«fresh» vegetables served with our dishes came straight out of a cheap eighties diner except that the prices were a lot better then.

I expected this place to be a diner, but it’s trying to be more pretentious than that. The servers are dressed as if they worked at a high-end restaurant, and they do have a pretty impressive bar menu. I didn’t try any cocktails since we stopped in for a quick lunch, so I can’t speak to how well they’re made. The menu appeared to have a good selection – unless you’re vegetarian. I found a pasta dish, veggie burger, and grilled cheese. Everything else was meaty. Based on another Unilocal review, we both tried the grilled cheese and were horribly disappointed. It looks like they grilled some shredded cheese/salt mixture to the outside of the bread. Interesting concept, but not at all tasty. Plus it made the sandwich much greasier than a grilled cheese normally is. How can you make a simple grilled cheese into something so icky? The fries were standard frozen diner fries – bland and predictable. At least the sesame vinaigrette I got on my salad was tasty! Oh, the salads were a bit weird. I know most restaurants prep their side salads ahead of time and keep them in a cooler until ordered, which is fine by me. However, Mimi’s staff prepped them with forks, too! Our salads came with the fork already in the bowl, and it was very frosty from sitting in a refrigerator. We had to wait for them to warm up so our fingers would stop sticking to the metal. The service was fine, although the waitress did seem easily confused. I’m sure there’s plenty here to appeal to other people(which is why I didn’t give them one star), but it’s not a place I’ll ever come back to.

Low quality and very cheesy décor, I was not impressed. I got off to a bad start by ordering grapefruit juice. The server brought what I think is sold as «grapefruit drink», a pinkish liquid that may or may not have ever encountered a fruit but has certainly been cozy with corn syrup. Next my strawberry muffin was coated in sugar and was just as sweet inside, way too much sugar for me. It tasted factory made. My omelette was fine and the avocado perfectly ripe. It was greasy as can be expected and covered in a white cheese I did not recognize. Oh, and I have lived in France and nothing about this place reminds me of France except for perhaps the random«patisserie» awning hanging inside. Many of the people dining here could barely squeeze into their booths, a likely result of being a regular here.

The food is Amercian cruisine, claims to Frenchness aside. I have bad luck with the neighbors here. Last time it was a screaming kid that wouldn’t stop. This time it’s a loud, simple soul, talking about how he prefers bench seats in his truck so the dogs can sit next to him, and it’s been going on for 45 minutes now. The waitress brought a «win a trip to France» card to the table along with the check. The wife announced that if she won, and he tried to get on the plane with her, she’d shoot him dead. The waitresses here seem to be trembling in fear of their corporate master and act as if they’re being monitored on-camera real-time by the HR department. See my review of the Cracker Barrel for a similar ambiance. The WIFI has been asking me to re-authenticate every minute or so, but doesn’t seem to bother my partner’s net-book. My partner is enjoying her cobb salad. The first shot at a request for balsamic vinaigrette yielded a plastic cup with sweet stuff in it. On request, a bottle of balsamic vinegar did the trick very well. She’s loving her blueberry muffin. My sweet and sour chicken off the«Healthy/Fresh» menu was tasty, but way too much on the sweet and sour sauce. My strawberry banana smoothie is nice and calming as well. You may detect I am in need of this. Periodically, the waitress comes by and asks if everything is OK. The poor thing has a high-pitched, nasal voice, a mouth full of braces, and the effect is like fingernails on a chalkboard. OK, so I’m having a bad day here at Mimi’s Café. But, the food seems very commercial, and not as good as the hospital cafeteria(see my review of St. Anthony’s in Lakewood, CO) I’ve been frequenting to visit a relative, and, it’s more expensive. The feel of the place is corporate too. The noise is irritating, and the service is too. It’s not bad, but it’s not so good either. I don’t think I’ll come back for a good while, if ever.

I really like their portion sizes, not too little, not too much. Highlights: –Pot Roast and eggs for breakfast. SOGOOD!!! –French onion soup, always a winner! –I think it’s seasonal but the 4 cheese grilled cheese! Makes my mouth water thinking about this one. –Fried Zucchini… you can’t get this in too many places, and they do a great job of breading it perfectly and frying it. Any of their muffins are awesome too! Also, sign up for emails because I get things once or twice a week for BOGO lunch/dinner with the purchase of an entrée and two beverages. You can’t beat that!

Yes, this is a CHAIN Establishment. Was here with Hubs for a very late dinner on Thursday November 10th2011. Time was like about 2000hrs. We were hungry, was in this vicinity and just«jump the hoop» go with the flow and simply care less on where to dine in at that evening. So to Mimi’s Café Flatiron, Broomfield Location we went. When we first arrived, we were greeted by one of the waitstaff. Either she has a twang or she is foreign coz she seems to have that French Accent through her speech. Err, both of us are clueless, coz is this a French Restaurant, An American French wannabe restaurant or … Furthermore, with the Décor, its seems rustic, with western touch and all over French Stuffs. So I request for a booth seating. We were given the menu and these were what we ordered that evening : * Crab Cakes Appetizers($ 7.99) * Beef Sliders($ 5.99)(Hubs Order) * Seafood Fettuccine($ 12.99) * French Quarter With NOBACON, NOAVOCADO($ 10.49), Hubs order. * Strawberry Lemonade($ 2.79) Hubs order, Pomegranate Zero($ 2.69) my order. Our dinner came with their Signature Bread Basket. Cant recall what exactly was in the basket, but it looks and taste like Seasonal Loaf, Whipped Spread something like butter and a «dust» of cinnamon touch, nut raisin loaf. The food came out piping hot, the service was efficient. The food portion is decent. I think, my eyes are«bigger» than my stomach, that I could not finish my order of Seafood Fettuccine, since I think my order of Crab Cakes filled me up so there arent room for any desserts for that evening. Hence the to-go-box leftovers for the Seafood Fettuccine. I was slightly disappointed with my order of Seafood Fettuccine, coz of the seafood portion was so tiny, especially the shrimp and it seems that they might have cut a BIG Scallop into 4 to 6 pieces. Or they might just used Bay Scallops which are tiny in nature to begin with. To return, Yes perhaps so, but I think I will go easy on the main entrees, just go for the appetizers and see how the desserts, will differ in our next trip in the future. One of the better run chains, i appreicate the country French interior. The menu is heavy, but admittedly delcious. I find their beef bourginon exceptional, with carrots, mash potatoes, grilled aspragous and a heafty serving of mushrooms and a savory tender pot roast. The manager, a friendly competent bloke, always stops by and chats. If you’re trapped in the burbs and want a decent meal, this is a great option.

I enjoy going to Mimi’s for an intimate gathering. There are a lot of families who go there. I love their muffins that they give you(apparently only at dinner time though). They have a lot of good home-style entrees and some Cajun. They also have a «Just Enough» selection that costs less and has smaller portions. The dessert menu could be a little better. Don’t ever order their hot chocolate as it’s only packets of Nestle and they charge like $ 2 for it.

I met two friends here for breakfast yesterday — first time for breakfast at Mimi’s. We were there bright and early at 7am and it was very quiet. We had a whole section of the restaurant to ourselves. It was nice! We got immediate attention and great, friendly service. I choose a Low Fat Fitness Omelette which was a three egg white omelette filled with fresh mushrooms, broccoli and diced tomatoes. Served with sliced tomatoes(instead of red skin potatoes), dry wheat toast and fresh squeezed juice. It was only 488 calories — not bad for eating out. The meal came in good time and was very tasty. The cost for 3 of us including tip was $ 34.00 The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it’s chain restaraunt and has that sterile, cookie cutter atmosphere feeling to it.
