Big Apple Bagels

Gotta say when this store opened in the Burg sometime back I was glad I didn’t have to drive to Avon to visit the BAB’s. Unfortunately after a few visits of NOT having a selection to choose from I swore this location off and was back to driving to Avon. And before you could say lox and a schmere the BBurg location closed.
A couple of months ago I see «under new management» and decide to give them another go-​round. With a couple of visits for a single bagel, schmere and a coffee things were looking up.
So it’s after the Christmas weekend, Monday morning about 10AM… a real test for what they’ll have ready to go. The selection bins were full with at least one of each. I went with blueberry, cinnamon raisin, everything, cheddar herb and a couple of plain hot off the presses.
In short I’ll say they have regained my business. Hopefully the rest of you Burg-​ites will give them another shot too. I don’t want to have to go back to driving to Avon for a fresh warm bagel with a schmere!

So glad Chuck and crew opened this location again. Wish we had one in Central Illinois. We make this a regular stop when visiting our kids and grandkids!

New Management! Great family running the place! Food is great! Fun atmosphere! Double chocolate muffin was the best!

Everything was dirty looking, countertops looked like they hadn’t been cleaned, tables looked dirty, the people working looked dirty. The one in Avon is better.

Great Bagels. Only $ 0.59 on Tuesdays! Asiago Cheese bagel is delicious.
