Applebee’s

The only reason they are getting one star is because I can’t leave 0 stars! I like going out to eat and I like great food but I have this weird love of chain restaurants that baffles even me. That being said, I went to my local Applebee’s and had a really awful experience. This is the 4^th time in a row from this particular restaurant. I ordered the ribs. I love ribs and they are usually good but these were meatless and burnt and some how cold at the same time. The same with the baked potato. How do you have a cooked rock hard potato, unless it was cooked the day before! I ordered it to go and when I went to pick it up I waited in the car for 25 min. Finally I was fed up and went in to get my order that took another ten min! The bartender said «I saw you pull up, and had to finish a drink order before I brought it out to you» when does it take 25 min to make one drink? All in all I was very upset with every aspect of this experience! I ordered food for two people and it was all jumbled in being packed and was missing like 3 things. I was too pissed to even call back at that point! What a waste of $ 65!

Ok, to admit i don’t eat out a lot. But with Dad in the Hospital down the road having Chemotherapy i treated myself to lunch.
#1 Prices… outrageously high… yet the place was jumping… god only knows where people get the money… thank god i guess for credit card debt. bought the cheapest thing i felt affordable cheeseburger and drink…$ 15…for 1 person!!!
#2 I didn’t know it was a Sports Bar… the 30 televisions on all the walls gave it away… not to mention the competing music blaring over the loudspeakers, even in the mens room…
#3 the stupid computer thing on the table prodding you to play games or buy more stuff that you didn’t want… the server was annoyed i kept moving it to the very edge and turning to face out.
#4 the server who obviously hated the job but was hard up for money and it was money… though from the looks of me not much and so i felt i was treated as such…
yeah I’m old and cantankerous… but you young people will buy anything and put up with any bullshit if you think it makes you hip…
thanks but no thanks Applebee’s…I’ll stay home and cook real food for myself.

The dining room was busy but not crowded. The service was quick, within 2 minutes of sitting down. The bar area was clean and friendly. I had a chicken quesadilla (half off 2 – 5 pm and 9pm to close) then I had a brew pub Philly with sweet potato fries! Yummy
To drink I had a virgin frozen strawberry daiquiri. Good atmosphere, good company at the bar.
The bar got busier at 2:45pm for late lunch rush.
Warm environment in a cold Maine day.

Thank you for giving the Veterans of the Brunswick area a free meal. We greatly appreciated it. I loved the menu choices, I had the chicken penne, which was really good and my friend had the chicken fingers, which was a huge portion. Again thank you very much. Oh and thank you for the $ 5off coupons also.

This is the best place for late night food. you can’t be the ½ off apps after 9pm.
The boneless wings, the mozzarella sticks, chicken wonton tacos, the spicy pickles, the spinach dip, all awesome. The burgers are great and the handhelds are amazing and come with endless fries and bbq seasoned option. The lunch combos are a great deal too, choose from salads soup and sandwhiches. The 2 for 20 is definately perfect for nights you just can’t stand to cook. I love the honey chicken with pasta.
They have new electronic table service that lets you call the waitress and pay at the table and even order, except for the late night apps. you need to order with waitstaff to get that deal. The service is pleasant, sometime even quirky. The place is always clean and playing all the sports games. There is often people cheering loudly from the bar. This is great stop for whatever you’re craving, esepcially good prices.

The worst service first the hosts were not communicating the people with a smaller group 3 got sat at the table they cleaned for us :(my granddaughter was good but we ordered appetizers and my main course was delivered before everything else then finally out appetizers came with the meal. To top it off the waiter who had everyone else running his food & refills we watched walk around doing very little with a full house. Not coming again

it’s an Applebee’s but the real review is the staff. They were really good. A group of about 40 from the local theater had walked in shortly before us. And that should have really pushed service back but our waiter was super friendly and we still got our orders on time we didn’t have to wait long at all. Average quality of food no complaints there. I’ll most likely be back.

After dropping our dog off at the Vet we decided to try the place for Breakfast. It did not look open to me but the doors were unlocked the lights were on and music was on but no one was present out front. We waited and waited still no one. I went back to the kitchen where a couple of very disinterested employes were busy frying up Bacon. I asked if they were open and I got a very dismissive attitude and told they were not open until 11:00. So why may I ask was the place unlocked and lit up? Very poor. Won’t be going back any time soon.

We called weeks ahead and made a reservation for a big group (they said they would be able to accommodate us — we gave the date and time). Then, fast forward to the day of the reservation, about half an hour before, we called and they said we were all set. So, a half an hour later, we got there and they acted like they had no idea we were coming. Considering this had been set up weeks ahead of time, and we even had just talked to someone on the phone, this was bewildering. Now we were stuck with our big group and nowhere to eat. We will definitely never be going back here. Terrible management.

Meh just ok. We went here with another couple mid week for lunch. The waitress was friendly, but slow. The Ceaser salad was okay — typical, nothing special. The chicken tortilla soup was so spicy I had to add sour crème to cool it off. The strawberry long Island which was on happy hour was gross — too syrupy.

I went to Applebee’s in Brunswick, Maine the night after Christmas (12÷26÷12) for dinner with my family. We had a good dinner and our waiter was really awesome.
What’s not awesome was that I accidentally left my wallet in the booth. I know an employee picked it up and gave it to management and that it was kept locked in an office. When I went to retrieve it the next morning, the cash in my wallet (Christmas money from my family) was gone. Stolen. All of it.
And the most upsetting part is that Applebee’s has done nothing about it. No apology. No general statement of «we will do everything in our power to help resolve this situation for you, ma’am.» Nothing.
In fact, my experience has been quite the opposite. Restaurant management, the area director and loss prevention at the franchise level have all been completely rude and unhelpful. I got one apology from the 4^th manager I spoke with about this and that’s it. He was nice and apologetic, but still wasn’t helpful and that was over a week after the incident. In fact he suggested I filed a homeowner’s insurance claim to recover the money. (Huh, I thought your job was to help customers?)
I have no idea how Applebee’s is in business as a global company because they have no idea how to handle a bad situation properly. I have spoken with guest relations at corporate, loss prevention/​risk management at the franchise level and spoke with local area managers and no one was helpful or reassuring or apologetic. In fact, they treated me with complete disrespect. Why on earthy would I make such a big deal about a couple of hundreds dollars stolen the day after Christmas if I was making it up? Signed police statement and everything.
Needless to say, I will never visit another Applebee’s location and have encouraged my friends and family to do the same. I can only imagine how terribly they may handle any other bad situation they encounter, and I for one will not take any chances.
Thank you for protecting the thieves that stole my Christmas money the day after Christmas, and for ruining my trip home to visit my family during the holidays. Truly a class act.
I encourage everyone to think twice about supporting this restaurant or any other Applebee’s restaurant. It’s not worth the risk or the headache.
