Stopped in for dinner. We were quickly greeted and seated, provided with menus and drinks right away. It was mostly empty, since we were having an early dinner and this made our food arrive quick as lightening. The bartender worked as the server since there was only a couple tables. He was very pleasant polite and attentive, until the end. As the place filled up, we waited for a while for the bill to made and dropped, but he seemed to be a bit overwhelmed with the new parties coming in. I pondered over the appetizer slections, poutine, nachos, fried pickles and finally decided on bang bang shrimp. The plate of 5 jumbo shrimp didnt seem worth the $ 11 pricetag. Theshrimp were good, well cooked, fried in a batter and complimented by a slightly spicy sauce. I still have a hard time justifying so few shrimp for the price and I also prefer shrimp to be coated in the sauce or at least plenty for dipping. I ordered the frisco melt. As the name predicts it is a chicken version of a grilled cheese. The chicken was tender and moist and pulled apart with each bite. The parmesan bread was buttery grilled perfection, full of fresh cheese flavor. The tomato, mushrooms and avacado were a lovely addition to this sandwhich. Adding bacon would have added even more delicousness. Hubby ordered the fish and chips. The plate arrived as a mountain of food with two huge portions of fish, served over a bed of french fries and a side of fresh veggie cole slaw. The french fries were freshly chopped potatoes fried into a lovely side dish. The fish had a beer batter that was a little bit«too beery» for my preference but had the most wonderful exterior crispness without all the breading that collects on your fingers. This is definately a spot worth stopping in again to be able to try more of their tasty pub food, perhaps a burger next time and some fried pickles. Don;t forget the drinks. The beer selection seemd to be endless, from drafts to bottles, from local to imported.

Very quick service, great food, and a cool vibe to the place. Beer is a little expensive(I didn’t try it) but it is all made in house and they have some unique flavors, so I’d definitely want to try it if I came again(which I would since the food was good).

In house beers were tasty and awesome. The fried pickles and sauce were great. Reuben was one of the best ive had in a while. Everything you would expect from a brew pub and more. I will go back if working in the area again.

Well I don’t drink so I can’t comment on the beer but can comment on that on a hamburger if you would like cheddar cheese for three dollars. I wanted to ask if they would put the other 23 slices in a Togo box.

The poutine was good. The beer flights were way over priced. We got Brie filled wontons. There was hardly Anything in them besides a Rhine of the cheese and some air. Highly disappointed.

I don’t think we experienced the best of Ebeneezer’s. We went for a late lunch on a Saturday and they’re just not set up well for this. Our server(also the bartender) was very nice, but she had other duties and we were on our own for most of the meal. The meal was what I’m going to call the good, the bad and the ugly. Good — deep fried pickles — seriously addictive. yummm! Also selection of beer is very good. Sandwiches were OK — standard stuff(BLT& burger) Bad — french fries were old and tossed back in the fryer. ick. The ugly? the prices. Our tab for lunch was over $ 75. FORLUNCH.

Have been to this place a few times primarily for beer. This rating is due to the generally overhyped quality of Lively Brewing’s beer. My friends and I who all love great beer have been disappointed with the taste and overall quality of various Lively beers. I recommend avoiding Ebenezer’s and Lively Brewing when in the area. We have much better local beer choices available, such as Oxbow, Foundation, Bissell Brothers, Boothbay Craft Brewing and Allagash. Also, much better beer bars up and down coast.

I so want to review this restaurant better. In fact, I really hope that management reads this, and attempts to fix some of these complaints. I have eaten and drank at this brewpub many times, and I want to love this place, but overtime everything about this place has been deteriorating. First off, the good. I love the décor of the restaurant. Very beer centric atmosphere with different, unique artwork and signs of different breweries from around the world. You can look through the window into the brewery area, which is always fun. The bar area is dark wood, pub like, which is always a favorite of mine. Also, the philly cheesesteak is good, and their frites are tasty and well fried. That is where I have to end. Now, for my disappointments. I want to clarify, I have been here with parties of two, four, eight, or just myself, so I have had many different experiences on many different nights of the weeks. First, service has been, and is poor. Some of the waitstaff need to improve their ability to multi-task, and others just need to pay more attention to customers. There are some great servers here, but they can’t work everyday. Speed does not seem to be important as well for the staff, even when the bar is full. Now, in all fairness, it seems that the restaurant is completely understaffed at times, and during trivia night, I was there for thirty minutes before we were even acknowledged. A major complaint of mine is with the staffs lack of knowledge of beer. When I ask, many can’t tell me anything about the beers, and do not like making recommendations. Also, they know nothing about the bottles they carry – I will get to that in a minute. Here is the thing. This is a brewpub, with what looks like thirty taps, but only eight have beer pouring on them. They carry their own beer, which is usually five to six beers, and then about four other belgian ales – that for the past few visits have all been above 7% alcohol and served in only 10 ounce glasses, for high prices. A lot of their beers are served in 13 ounce glasses even though they are only 5−6%. But here is my huge disappointment. They carry bottles, which they get from their sister restaurant, usually Belgian ales, but they REFUSE to have a bottle list. When you ask about a list, they say, «you can go behind the bar and look.» At this point I become a nuisance to the bartender and staff. When I choose a beer from the bottles, and tell the waitstaff what I want, they can’t find it, because they don’t know or care to know, anything about the bottles they carry. A few times I had to go over and point out the beer, or the waitress asked me to describe where it is in the fridge. Again, the prices for these beers are expensive. I feel that I become an inconvenience to them if I want a bottle. Many friends I have brought to this restaurant have commented on how annoying this is. I don’t see how difficult it is to type up a list on a word document, print off five copies, and just keep them behind the bar for when people ask. Update it weekly. Inconsistency with beer selection is a huge problem. I have been here a few times when they only had three of their own beers on tap. Two of them had an alcohol of over 8%. Recently they were out of all ciders and meads but two. This seems to happen quite a bit. The beer menu they give at the table is always different from the chalkboard on the wall. Here’s a suggestion, if the beer is kicked, erase it off the big board. There have been other times when their beer list for the table was for anticipated brews in the next week. In other words, the beers on them weren’t going to be on tap for days, but were on the list. I mean, how hard is it to make a new list in a few days when you tap the keg. It just seems consistently inconsistent. I have to say, I really hope they can improve. I want them to succeed, and to be a better restaurant, but after working in this industry myself, I cannot give more than two stars.

Very solid. Nice atmosphere with four distinct areas; bar, dining, window room and outdoors. Our waitress was very friendly and just attentive enough without being overbearing, perfect! Drinks were prompt, and beer was cold. 35 taps and some bottles to choose from. All our food was good, including scallops, fish N chips, tuna and burgers. We’d go back for a casual meal any time if day! No wait on labor day weekend. That was nice!

Stopped in looking for a late lunch on a Sunday driving from upstate ny. Glad the place was open. Two sections inside, one for families and the bar area was for adults. Nice since hubby and I were on a kidless vacation. Tasty brews: my husband enjoyed a Mary Jane and I tried the elderflower Scottish cider. What a treat! We had ordered a Reuben and the duck salad. Both were delicious. Fries that came with the Reuben were nice and crisp as was the duck. Place was clean, service was prompt, and the waitress was friendly. What more could you ask for ?! Wish we lived closer.

Was pretty disappointed by a few things… but not the burger with avocado/bacon/cheddar! That was amazing. So were the sweet potato fries. The full flight was $ 20…so overpriced. My boyfriends favorites were the Rye Not and Hoppy Bogart. The bang bang shrimp were fried well but the sauce was bland and there were only 5 shrimp! Far worse was the Brie wontons. My boyfriend and I kept saying… where is the Brie? There was barely any Brie in the wontons! Worst appetizer I’ve had in a long time. And they were both small portions for the price. The service was bad. We had to wave our waitress down multiple times. She never came to refill our water glasses and I was parched! Won’t be returning.

This review is for the brew-pub version of this restaurant, not the previous iteration with dozens of domestic and imported beer. We stopped in for a light dinner on a weeknight. Service was prompt and efficient. The waitress was knowledgeable enough about the menu to be able to describe the preparation of an unfamiliar(to us) item. We were impressed. I had the Mary Jane IPA, which is only ok IMO. My wife ordered a CUP of the corn chowder, which cost $ 6.99 and was absolutely not worth it. Her chicken dish was well prepared, moist and tasty. My fried haddock sandwich was large with a nice crust, but had excess oil on the exterior. Good sweet potato fries. We live nearby and would probably not go again; not a good value for the $ given other local restaurants.

4.44444444 Stars Ebenezer’s is right on one of the main routes into Brunswick, it’s a tricky left turn in traffic. There is a large dining room that catches the sunlight nicely. The bar is a bit more dank, as it should be. The bar itself is short L shape coppertop counter, utility and good looks. There are small tables and large tables, the spacing is generous. Beer/Ale: The Mary Jane was exquisite, a hoppy«dank» IPA weighing in a 7%(4⁄5). I was less impressed with the Belgian blonde tried. I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Flemish Belgian and the Netherlands, sampling these ales. I also appreciate the Canadian and US brewers who make these their own. This one was not a rich in texture, it was«thin» for me(2.5÷5). Food: We started with Poutine(4⁄5) and Fried Pickles(4⁄5), both of these were quite good. The breading on the pickles seemed to be same batter on the fish sandwich and not a cornmeal base. I was dubious but those pickles won us over. Be warned though these two apps could be a meal in themselves very hearty fare. I had the Westmalle Burger(4.5÷5) a worcestershire sauce with caramelized onions. The bun was nice but the weight of the burger and the sauce deconstructed it but I ate the entire thing. Not wanting to double down on fries I opted for the slaw. The brussel sprouts were inventive but they should have been sauteed or slightly grilled they were too raw and it wasn’t pleasant to eat. The fish sandwich(4⁄5) was delicious the aforementioned breading was light and crisp. * parking: lot with a decent amount of spaces * The staff was friendly and attentive. * A proper brew/gastronomy pub! * Try the flights, I would have if I had more time the day I visited.

While in Maine on Tuesday night we went here to hear My wife’s cousin and his wife sing at the open mike. It was an interesting experience. Food VERY interesting, I had lobstered corn and sea scallops. It lots of lobster, LOTS of corn and the scallops were done to perfection. It had green peppers, tomatoes and red onions. Been there done that is all I can say. My wife had a Rubin she liked it and it was excellent. I want to say as busy as this place was the waitress was outstanding. We never wanted once that she was not there to take care of us. Get this she even came back after check was paid, dishes clear to ask if we wanted water.

Had a flight of Lively Brewery’s finest. The Holy Candy(a Belgian style tripel was my personal favorite). A bit pricey, but the beer is GREAT.

We stopped on our way out to Harpswell and were initially a little confused by the set-up; it wasn’t quire clear that this was a brewpub. But, it didn’t take long to sidle up to the bar for a pint of really good craft beer. The staff was not only knowledgeable, but very friendly.

Have been to the Lion’s Pride/Ebenezer’s many times over the years, but never again. We were on our way to a movie on a beautiful evening and had thoughts of El Camino, Shere Punjab, Seadog, but got stuck at the light next to Ebenezer’s, saw their outside area and made a detour. I need to tell you about my sandwich. I love sandwiches. Present me a steak or a sandwich and I will always choose a sandwich(probably even if they’re the same price, as in this case). This sandwich was a special and to their credit, it certainly was«bbq beef». It came on untoasted french bread with some shaved beef stuffed inside(you’d be hard pressed to not think the sauce was Sweet Baby Rays), no lettuce, no tomato, no red onion, no cilantro, nothing of any interest at all. I have had some good sandwiches here in the past, the reuben in particular has always been fantastic. This however, was college cafeteria food. At $ 15.99(!!!) it was joke. We each had two beers, the wings, her small plate of rare tuna bites(which were bland and certainly did not impress) and my «sandwich» and the bill came to $ 80 dollars before the tip. This was about 2 weeks ago and every meal I’ve had since has been better and most about half the price. There are so many better options in Brunswick.

What a great find!!! My Husband and I are in Brunswick this week, and we heard from people at our hotel that this place had great food. Well, does it ever!!! My husband had a burger that was to die for, and I had a chicken melt sandwich that was so big, and tasty, I had to bring half of it back to the hotel. If you are in the area, be sure to stop by. We plan to go back before we head back home to Buffalo, NY.
