This is a cute little breakfast place. Not much seating inside, so plan to take yours to-go. I was impressed with the creativity of the doughnuts, and the kolaches are huge… but although the atmosphere is cute and trendy, I still prefer Shipley Do-nuts. I’ll admit I have not tried all their flavors of doughnuts, but their plain was a little too sweet… too much glaze… and the chocolate sprinkle hardly had any sprinkles(I’m a fan of lots of sprinkles!) and the dough had a strong flavor, but I prefer something more simple or mild. I’m definitely going to give them another shot, and their breakfast tacos looked good, too… but since Shipley has a better tasting doughnut, more seating, a drive-thru, and is cheaper… Kai’s is 2nd on my list.

Co worker brought donuts into work this morning, thought it’d be the same’ol boring BCS choices but was pleasantly surprised. The butterfinger donut was my choice and it didn’t disappoint. The boudin and pepper jack kolache was awesome as well. Definately a repeat customer, took my kids there the next morning, beware Saturday mornings, line is out the door!

My toddler and i stopped in to get donuts for the family for Valentines day. Awesome donut! The Toasted Smores was toasted upon ordering with a kitchen torch. It was so so so tasty. The freshly toasted marshmallow cream made all the difference. The service was great. The guy even offered to help us out to our car. We will definitely be back when we need a sugar fix!

These are definitely the best looking donuts in the cstat/bryan area, but they taste just okay. Don’t get me wrong, theres a more creative selection than your average donut shop, but the flavors are not out-of-this-world. I tried maple, toffee, red velvet, and plain glazed. The red velvet tasted like a regular cake donut, while the maple and plain glazed were good but also pretty ordinary. I WILL say that the donuts themselves are extremely soft and fluffy. most of them are a little bigger than your typical donut, too. But as for the flavor, I wouldnt aggrandize them to say that they go above and beyond shipleys or krispey kreme as other reviews have. But thats totally my opinion. I respect small business and the much needed creativity donut shops needed around this city. I will definitely be back for some of the ones I didnt get to try!

Really torn on writing this review. I am so happy to finally see a creative fancy donut place here in Aggieland! Honestly we were LONG overdue. Kai’s has a creative and varied menu offering including donuts, kolaches, tacos, breakfast sandwiches, and more. The flavor combination for donuts are exciting and I want to try every single one. I have been looking forward to visiting for over a month and this last Sunday AM I made my way over. Here is what I got and my thoughts on each: Jalapeño sausage kolache — the dough was good, the sausage was awful. Didn’t finish it. Philly cheesesteak ball — delicious and I like the portion size and price. It was a little bland for my taste and could use more cheese Plain Glazed Donut — very very good. Easily on par with Shipley’s Maple Bacon Bar — the clear winner! Delicious and I loved the combo of sweet and salty/savory! I do think the glaze was just a bit too sweet, but a minor complaint So what, might you ask, is keeping me from giving them a 5 star? Well I save my 5 stars for places that just really are the best of their game… something that I can’t wait to go back and eat again. I must admit, I’m a bit of a spoiled donut consumer. I spent several years living in NYC and after getting spoiled by eating at world famous donut shop like Dough and Donut Plant, it might be hard for me to ever be truly impressed by a donut again. While I enjoyed the donuts at Kai’s enough, I didn’t even finish everything. Yes, I will be back to try more. But I’m not craving them like I should be in order for them to earn a 5. So, taking all this in consideration here is my summary: Kai’s Donuts are easily the best donuts in the Brazos Valley. I’d skip on the kolaches though.

BEST donuts in BCS hands down. Awesome selection of specialty, and regular glazed donuts. Super Donuts used to have my favorite glazed, and Kai’s has definitely one upped them. Also, their jalapeño cheese sausage rolls are to diiiieeeee for. I would go back just for those alone. Vietnamese iced coffee is fantastic as well. Hope they are successful and continue to have this kind of quality food!

If I could give it more stars I would. I’ve been waiting on a place like this in BCS for quite some time. The business hours are awesome! Don’t be surprised if you see a line of people down the sidewalk. Fortunately they’re not waiting for donuts; They’re waiting to donate plasma! Hahaha!

Oh. My. Goodness. Where do I even begin. As soon as I got out of my car and walked to the door, the heavenly doughnut smell just hit me in the face. Like, a very good welcomed hit lol Then when I entered, I felt like a little kid in a candy store, but instead I was faced with all these lovely looking donuts and could not choose any to save my life. I finally decided on the Thin Mint and red velvet cake. Girl Scouts and donuts combined? Hell yeah! And who doesn’t like red velvet. (I’m saving the red velvet cake for later, but the Thin Mint donut was perfect. Not too sweet, just enough Thin Mints evenly crumbled and as puffy as the original glaze donut.) I also checked in on Unilocal and got a free glazed donut which was the BESTTT donut I have ever had. Hands down. Imagine Shipley’s and Krispy Kreme joined together and concocted this. Fluffy, soft, with a perfect crisp glaze that melts in your mouth. !!! The prices are very reasonable and I most definitely will come back. Also, shoutout to the guy who rang me up and snuck in 3 extra donut holes. Whoop! :) There was a great selection of other things such as kolaches and tacos too. I’ll have to come back and try those another time

Service and taste is awesome… everyone in the family loved all the Doughnuts. We ordered one of each to try. Got there around noon and they were out of the popular flavors… the owner offered to save me some for the next day. very happy and will definitely go back everytime we visit college station!

Wow!!! Just bought a dozen of assorted flavors for my coworkers and they were gone in seconds. Definitely the best red velvet I have ever tasted. You can tell they keep it simple with the ingredients because the doughnuts all taste so light and pure. Also, the price is really incredible for what you get. Keep killing it guys!

The donuts here are to die for. I’ve had the s’mores, Boston cream pie, red velvet cake, bacon maple bar and just about all the kolaches. I love how unique this shop is, I’m a kolache and donut fanatic and I’ve stopped here nearly everyday.

Great new breakfast location where the convenience store and Indian restaurant used to be. I am certain that there is a HUGE demand for donuts right across the street at 750 Agronomy, the A&M GSC, home of the most obese staff on campus.(Looks like the ship from Wall-E no kidding). Breakfast tacos were a fair value but I don’t know how often I will stop for breakfast on this high speed hiway. There are no turn lanes thus making it dangerous to try to stop and turn into any business here. Friendly staff. Will return for sure when in the area and when I don’t have some jack ass in a giant Ford or Chevy Cow-Truck right on my ass.

Love this spot! It’s such a cute little donut shop that just opened up a couple of weeks ago. Pros: + Easy accessibility — parking wasn’t hard at all! Although the GPS does put you a little ways away from the actual spot. + Lots of unusual options — I tried the green tea kit kat. Yes, green tea flavored Kit kat. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this flavor, Green Tea kit kats are a unique flavor to Japan. + Classics are great too — Glazed donuts are delicious + Unilocal Check-in — free glazed donut for a Unilocal-check in Cons: — closes a bit early :(

I had a Jalapeño and cheese kolache(1.99), pecan maple donut(.89) and an english toffee donut(.89) Kolache: I prefer a more dense, chewier sausage but it was still good. Donuts: both were delicious and very reasonably priced. Both were yeast donuts and were very fluffy, moist, and had a nice bite/pull at the same time. I think they let their donuts rise a little more than most places so it’s thicker than your average yeast donut, which was nice. Toppings were not overly abundant nor overly sweet. This place sells much higher quality donuts than shipleys, HEB, or any other donut spot I’ve been to in BCS so far and for me is pretty conveniently located. I will definitely come back to try some other flavors and maybe some of their more expensive donuts and maybe some of their other savory items as well. No tables in the shop yet. A single small one with two chairs would probably be a nice addition and/or a couple of outdoor tables.

Best donut and kolache I have ever had! All of their food is very fresh and flavorful. I’ll most definitely be coming back again! The S’mores donut is a must try by the way. Plus, the prices are exceptional as well.
