BEWARE! DONOTUSETHESEPEOPLEORTHISPLACE! We rented out a storage unit Summer 2014 to store dorm items until the Fall. They charged us each month on our credit card for the storage which was all fine. We picked this particular place because it was running a better $ deal a little outside of college station for a «CLIMATECONTROLLED» storage center. It was away for TAMU but close enough. Move out day went okay. We came back 4 months later to move out and found several of our boxes looked like they had«wet oily leak spots» from the outside of the boxes. We thought something had leaked from one box onto the others, but the placement of the spots on the boxes does not suggest that at all. When we opened up the boxes, we found NOTHING had leaked, conclusion being. it got so hot in there that there was the moisture and humidity of the storage unit that had caused this to happen. We ended up throwing away those nice sturdy boxes we bought(which we had hoped to use again and again). We were going to say something to management about that concern so that they could check into it to possibly save the next tenant from suffering the same demise. We decided to not make a big issue and moved on as we had so much to do on move out day. Now.for the reason this place rates 1STAR! urgh. frustration sets in when you go to move out and sign move out papers on the 30th of the month and still get charged for the 1st of next month. We noticed this days later on our credit card statement and called in for the reverse credit. Brittany who works there came on the phone and put me on hold as she went to «credit» my card for the wrongful charge. When she came back and told me it was all done, I asked to make sure she took my credit card information out so I wouldn’t be automatically and mistakenly charged again next month.(she informed me that supposedly many people suffered the same thing as she said there was a computer glitch)… geez louise. how many people were charged and didn’t even bother to check their statement and they just kept that money?! They weren’t going to credit it on their own. either that or she just made up some bogus excuse. Whatever. Just credit back my money please! I waited and waited… for that refund to appear. 1 week later, I called my American Express customer service and inquired if the credit was coming through as I still had not seen it online. They told me they don’t see any credits pending. So I called back to this place and got Brittany again. First she denied it was even her that I spoked to about the credit… really!!!(mind you they only have like 2 or 3 people working in their small office). and then when I told her what the issue was, she went to check and come to find out. she never did the credit. No apologies. nothing! She said«I must have not hit the save button». SERIOUSLY!!! dropping the ball 2x is unacceptable. so she told me now she had to call corporate because she had already«taken us out of the system» and I actually suggested she call me back to let me know what’s going to be done about. not her suggestion.urgh. The next day she calls back to tell me corporate says it will take 30 freaking days to credit my card back. like give me a break! TERRRIBLETERRIBLETERRRIBLE !! For what was their mistake should have been handled better and much quicker! I was going to use them again this summer because I actually think their place is convenient and clean. but with the unit issue causing heat damage to our stuff and now overcharging us and taking more than a month to fix .NOTHANKS! NOTEVENFORFREE! I GUESSYOUGETWHATYOUPAYFOR. Next time, I’ll just rent off Texas Ave near the school and pay more. for better service and a real ‘CLIMATECONTROLLED’ unit where I won’t be overcharged!
